[open] Get over your hill and see what you find there

Characters: Dolorosa and you!
Location: Holocaust Mall, the streets of the shopping district, or the City Park
Rating: G, I guess?
Time: May 21st, afternoon to evening
Description: Dolorosa is out and about, getting some shopping done and enjoying the sunlight. Feel free to have your character find her!

[Since her arrival and reunion with her family, Dolorosa has taken some much needed time to herself, choosing temporary isolation to put her thoughts in order. It works, and by the time she decides to finally explore Death City and see how much has changed since she left months ago, her thinkpan feels much clearer than before.

She heads for the Holocaust Mall, intent on finding nice fabrics to create new clothes for herself and her family, and takes a small detour through the City Park, to sit down and catch some sun for a little while.

It feels good to be back again.]

[Much needed time is, indeed, what both these troll women seek. There is a heavy weight pushing down on Mindfang's shoulders that creates a tension like no other she can fathom. Her planet is gone along with every trace of what constructed her social standing. Blood status mattered not, but the brief thought of losing her Blackmate and the slave she coveted so dearly. . . Her think pan ached with grief. This strange situation allotted her the comfort of Dualscar's appearance but even she knew that no amount of luck could bring back the dead. Possibly, since she has been taken here, that elegant woman she admired could live on. After all, from what information she had been given, Mindfang is to live until death. That destruction was not imminent but the burden still etched itself into the back of her think pan. The ever smiling sun hung low in the sky, bringing out he vermillion colors of sunset. This is the earliest she has been up. Adjusting to life in a diurnal way of life would take time.

The park on the outskirts of Death City, though quite far from Casualty Communal, became a spot that Mindfang frequented. Somewhat of a cool breeze passed through there often, even if the desert refused to cool during the night hours. She'd taken to using this place to write in a makeshift journal much like the one she owned back home. Pickpocketing a few unsuspecting strangers allowed spare cash to purchase necessities here and there. Dressed in the outfit she had appeared here in, she did not carry her usual bravado even if the way she carried herself suggested a woman with confidence and class--and let's not forget a touch of something dangerous.

Mindfang nearly ventured to leave, but something caught her attention. It is odd. The last time she remembered seeing horns of such a shape, she had been playing a dirty trick on Dualscar. She remembered writing how the slave would never know how thoroughly she had been used but, in turn, Mindfang would never fathom how quickly she could become smitten with someone of a low caste. To be sure, she must get a look at this troll's face. Without much conscious thought, she's already moving forward to the bench, leaning down to tap this woman on the shoulder.]

You look much like someone that I know. Can ask your name?

Karkat's been sitting in the park for quite some time now, trying to meditate, of all fucking things. He's no good at it of course, he didn't expect to be, and he's got too much important shit on his mind to keep his mind clear or whatever. This obviously isn't working, but he wants to be able to transform without doing something stupid and unnecessary. He wants to be able to do it own his own, and now that he's told everyone that's his intention, he can't exactly back out now. He has his pride after all. Maybe if he just wanders a little further into the park to find somewhere more comfortable to sit he'll be better at this.

[On her way home from work, it's become habit for Anri to spend a little time at the park. While she's used to returning to an empty apartment, she hasn't lost the habit of wanting to delay her return for as long as possible.

Normally, she keeps to herself. Today, she happens to notice someone she doesn't recognise but with traits that she does - the grey skin and horns reminiscent of a friend of hers.

She's made a mistake once before in assuming. And she's not one to disturb others easily. But there's no harm in making sure, right?

And so she approaches, pausing a little distance away and her tone not quite disguising her timid nature]

Um...excuse me. I don't suppose you know Psii-san, do you?
