Characters: Dolorosa, Psiioniic, Signless, Disciple
Location: Psii's apartment
Rating: F for Family Fluff
Time: May 19th, after this thread.
Description: Dolorosa is back to Death City, so it's time to reunite with her family once more.
[The time needed to shower and put on clean clothes is quite far from being enough to cope with the shock of everything that happened to her in Alternia, hours before being brought back to Death City, but she feels calmer by the time she is finally wearing clothes without a drop of blood on them, even if said clothes offend her sense of aesthetics in almost every way possible.
(There is no way these jeans fit her friend, and as for the terrible yellow shirt she was given… no. She really needs to try and talk some fashion sense into her friend’s thinkpan, once and for all.)
But the water helped soothe her troubled mind, and she feels absolutely clean for the first time in… actually, she doesn’t even know for how long she hasn’t felt this way.
But none of that matters right now. She’s free, and she’s back in Death City, and she’s about to be reunited with her family once again; Dolorosa takes a deep breath before stepping into the living room area of Psii’s hive, feeling oddly nervous about meeting her son and his beloved Disciple once more.]

before Signless and Di get there
In meantime, wants to help her any way he can. They have in common a reluctance to worry family about what they've been through. Broaching subject will be awkward, but will probably help both of them. When Rosa emerges, Psii moves over to make room on public cushioned seating zone for her.]
Are you feeling better now?

Soon, dear Psiioniic. Soon.
She walks over and joins him, sitting down next to her friend, putting enough distance between them so he won’t feel trapped-- she remembers how uncomfortable being touched used to make him feel, after all-- but enough to be close to him.]
Yes. Thank you for your assistance, my dear.
[She thinks that, out of everyone she knows, he will probably understand her thoughts and feelings the most; they have both been through terrible things, and neither of them want the ones they care about to worry. But she isn’t ready to speak of what happened to her just yet.]

Know now is probably bad time. But if you ever need to talk about... everything. Will be happy to listen.

I know, my friend, and I cannot thank you enough for that. But I... I am not ready.
[Her hands tighten slightly on Psii's.]
Not yet.
no subject
Understand that very well.
[Time for happier topic.]
Am doing much better than last time saw each other. Can walk anywhere in Death City. Have job. Even had partner for little while. But. He was sent home.

In almost no time she's at Psii's abode, not even pausing to straighten up her hair and clothes. She's knocks and waits impatiently, bouncing on her toes as if she were a wiggler]

She smiles warmly at the Disciple and opens the door wide, placing a hand on her shoulder and welcoming her inside.]
Hello, my dear.

Hello, Rosa. You've been missed so, so much.

She strokes Di’s hair, closing her eyes at the sheer familiarity of those wild, dark strands. She’s going to have some trouble working on that, but now is not the time to think of how many brushes and combs she will need to tame the Disciple’s hair.
(She really can’t help making an estimate, though.)
At the sound of her voice, Rosa gasps quietly in surprise. Just how much did things change since she was sent back to Alternia?]
And I have missed all of you just as much. [She kisses the top of Di’s head, and holds her even closer.] I cannot describe how happy it makes me feel to hear your voice once again.

It was tough going but the healers at Horrorspital really helped a lot. [She raised her head pulling back just a tiny bit to look Dolorosa up and down]
But what about you? How have you been? What has happened? [She can't imagine most of it was good, considering what she had been returned to, but Di still wants to know]
no subject
Then I must meet them and thank them for their work.
[She really means it, too.
She shakes her head at Di's questions, not dismissing them completely but telling her not to worry.]
I have returned, dear, and I would rather not think of what I left behind. But I must ask you what has happened since I was gone; what is this about a human marriage, hmm?
[Distraction techniques, what distraction techniques.]

Some other day, then. [She puts her hands over Rosa's and gives them a gentle squeeze]
It's...a romantic ritual humans undergo when they want to commit themselves to a person. [She blushes a little and raises her hand to show Rosa the ring that Signless had gotten her.]
A lifelong [Though she will be sure to alter that one bit] commitment to a single person.
