[OPEN] April 2013 Introduction Log
Characters: Volunteers, Newcomers and OPEN for mingling!
Location: All Around Death City
Rating: Varies
Time: May 19th, All Day
Description: Welcome to Death City.
BREW doesn't think about kidnappings, activists or the hot, dry weather that hangs over the desert city this week. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 18th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.
Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 19th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.
Regardless, it's looking a little more like old times... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we?
[ooc: Newcomers! Simply tag in to any or all of the sections here and volunteers will pop right up to greet you ASAP! The last section is completely OPEN for newcomers, volunteers, or Guests all ready in Death City who want to come up and say hello. Have fun!]

He pauses at the mention of she. He has a feeling he knows who she's talking about, but he doesn't want to believe it. "You don't actually mean....the Empress, do you?" Holy shit, this is not fucking good. Meenah might be his friend, but her adult counterpart will have no qualms culling him if he does something stupid.
no subject
It did for her, at least, giving her a good outlet for her more violent tendencies. Not to mention the monetary compensation was pretty great too.
"Yeah, that beach." Meenah wrinkles her nose, still displeased by her alternate's presence. "I tried to make nice when she got here, but the beach went all cullhappy on me. So I was like 'aight ho, we can throw down', and I woulda won too-- if some stupid Shibusen jerk hadn't gotten his net in a knot aboat guests fightin'. Apparently sucka ain't got no respect for a fuckin' Imperial Throwdown."
no subject
His initial reaction is to freak out. "You fought her? Meenah, have you fucking lost it? She could have killed you!" Then he registers the rest of what she's said. "Damn, you..you almost beat her? Meenah, she's ancient! How the fuck did you do that?" He is so impressed. So fucking impressed.
no subject
Which is another bonus it has over the dreambubbles- change and new experiences.
"Course I fought her- she was fuckin' asking for it!" She blinked at him and shrugged, shaking her head. "It ain't all that impressive- she ain't got all the power she used to, plus the beach has like twenty feet of hair to deal with. Not to mention, she ain't had a reel weapon- she came to fight me with a kitchen knife, I brought my partner along." She smirked a little, and ruffled his hair. "Besides, we didn't ebben reely get long past the start. That sucka interrupted the whole thing almost right awave."
Her expression falls into distaste then, lips pursing in irritation.
"Gonna get that beach one day though."
no subject
Oh, okay, so she's easier to deal with here. That's more than a little relieving. Still, he won't underestimate her. "Does she not have a partner? That's...honestly not that surprising. She'd probably kill anyone who tried to work with her. Who's your partner?" He makes a face at her. No hair ruffles Meenah. He is a badass and he will not stand for them. "Even if she isn't as powerful, you should try not to start shit unless you have to. She could still seriously kick your ass Meenah."
no subject
Meenah shrugs at the question, pulling her hand away from his head to run through the loose segments of her own hair.
"I ain't reely checked, but it's possibubble she's netted hershellf some sucka by now." She makes another face at the possibility, not altogether pleased by it. "And shit, if she reely wants to go, then we'll fuckin' go, yo. I ain't ebber been scared of dyin', and I shore as shell ain't gonna be scared of some beach who mighta been me at some point."
It's a matter of pride at this point, really. After all, the original can't go losing to some wannabe now, can she?
no subject
"I'm not saying you're scared, and I'm sure you'd totally beat her in a fair fight. I'm just saying it might not be the best idea." He understands where she's coming from. He just doesn't want to see her get hurt.
no subject
"When you known me to go with what otter suckas think is a 'good idea'?" She asks, more or less rhetorically, and whaps him lightly on the back of the head. "Besides, I ain't started the war, but I shore as shell will finish it if I get the chance."
no subject
Ugh, why does she have to be so hard to reason with? And why does she have to be so cool about it? "Just don't do something stupid, is all I'm saying." He gives a light shove back.
no subject
Blind joke and nautical puns. Double score!
"Stupid is pretty much my speshoalty, Vantas. But don't worry your adorabloodthirsty little head. Ain't nofin happenin' to me that I ain't plannin' on havin' happen."
no subject
"If you're sure, then I trust you." He has a lot of confidence in Meenah. "So, uh, where were you going, when I ran into you? I hope I'm not keeping you from important shit."
no subject
"Totally shore. And nah, I was just checkin' up on what suckas the BREW keelhauled in today. And makoin' shore that great big hagfish didn't get her prongs into anymoby from our universe first. It'd be reel inconvenient if that happened, know what I mean?"
no subject
"Yeah, way fucking inconvenient." And really not something he wants to think about the consequences of. "Thanks for coming. The layout of this place is completely fucking nonsensical. I feel like I should be able to deal with it, since everything on the meteor looks fucking identical, but somehow, it just makes this place seem even more complicated. I probably would have been wandering around for sweeps if I hadn't run into you."
no subject
Her limited and fragile patience, he is the ultimate test of it.
"No problem- hey, you get one of those mirror things yet? I can help ebben more with the not gettin' lost in this fuckin' waterless wasteland if ya do."
no subject
"Mirror things? Yeah, I have one." He's stuck it in his back pocket, and he pulls it out. "I don't really get what it's supposed to do, though."
no subject
She reaches for his mirror when he pulls it out, tapping her fingers rapid fire across the surface.
"Awright well here, lemme break this down for ya. You can use this thing for pretty much everyfin. It has a map," she makes a point of slowing down a bit as she explains, fingers sliding over the mirror's surface more slowly. "It can show you how to get pretty much anywhere from Casualty Communal. Then you've got the network, which is how mosta these suckafish communicate... Text option, video option, voice option- you can reply and post in all three, dependin' how you feel. And private messages are a thing too, but I'm thinkin' lettin' the otter Captor help you with that is a betta idea than me doin' it."

She hands him the mirror back, shoving one hand back in her pocket, the other tapping along the shaft of her current makeshift weapon idly.
"You gots a room yet?"
