[OPEN] April 2013 Introduction Log
Characters: Volunteers, Newcomers and OPEN for mingling!
Location: All Around Death City
Rating: Varies
Time: May 19th, All Day
Description: Welcome to Death City.
BREW doesn't think about kidnappings, activists or the hot, dry weather that hangs over the desert city this week. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 18th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.
Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 19th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.
Regardless, it's looking a little more like old times... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we?
[ooc: Newcomers! Simply tag in to any or all of the sections here and volunteers will pop right up to greet you ASAP! The last section is completely OPEN for newcomers, volunteers, or Guests all ready in Death City who want to come up and say hello. Have fun!]

Being a natural empath, she can pick up the fear and it's not the reaction she desires. A twitch of frown graces her visage but she quickly conceals it. No, Mindfang. Getting testy with not bid you well. Well, that does answer a lot of questions. If he isn't the Signless, then there's no reason to strangle her blackmate upon returning home. But his descendent? That's believable. They are nearly mirror images of each other. The thought of her being dead at only one hundred sweeps seemed ridiculous but then again he knows something that she doesn't.
" . . . .Death City." There's something odd about telling someone they should be dead, and then explain to them that they're not in Death City of all places. What, exactly, is a Death City? She crosses her arms over her chest. "Is there anything else you'd like to share, Karkat? I'm all ears."

Maybe he'll try to comfort her a little, as stupid as that sounds. "Anyway, being here doesn't mean you died. I mean, as far as I know I'm not dead unless I fucking tripped and hit my head or some shit. So don't freak out about the Death City thing. I think they just call it that."

"I only caught half of what it was saying, smart ass." She retorted right back. This Ancestor isn't the type to stand by when being verbally assaulted--especially when displaced for no apparent reason. "I could hardly understand what was being said until the end. Most of it sounded like garbled, gibberish." Strangely enough she spoke honestly. That's a thing now?
A heavy sigh passed her lips. Well, at least she isn't dead. Obviously. That part didn't take any amount of rocket engineering. Whatever that is. "Don't just stand there then." She mentions, starting off in the direction of another light source. Does she know where she is going; no. But then again half the time she never does and that's the adventure of being a pirate on the high seas. "There's got to be a way out of here. This place is dreary and I've got business to take care of. Are you coming or not, little one?"

Maybe she should have left him to fend for himself inside this random chamber of destruction. Mindfang is quickly reminded why adult trolls were so graciously never given the choice to have wrigglers themselves; they would probably all end up dead. Cheeky little brats. "You misunderstand, little one," Oh yes now she going to say it just to annoy him. Passive aggressive attempt number one. "Not out of this realm, out of this room. I am not stupid enough to think they are false in the their words of being stuck here, but I'd rather not be stuck in a dreary chamber with an insolent child all night."
Karkat is becoming increasingly more lucky by the minute that this world transported her without many of her weapons. She stops suddenly, turns toward him with a very vicious snarl and a glare in her eyes. "I captained a fleet of PIRATES that terrorized and pillaged the entire planet way before you were even scurrying out to get the first glimpses of moon light on Alternia. If logic is something you think I lack, little one, than I suggest that you lead the way and we shall see how far your constant nagging gets us, hm?" And to this she presents a sweep of her hand toward the source of light she had been following. "Go on. Impress me."
[ooc: -snortlaugh- they're getting along so well XDDD]

"Fine." He doesn't like the idea of having his back to her, but he can't exactly lead her otherwise so he starts off at a brisk walk in that same direction. "I don't see what's so impressive about walking towards a fucking light." God dammit, will he ever learn to keep his trap shut?
[ooc: This is awesome. Karkat is going to count his lucky stars if he survives this conversation haha.]

There's a tinge of regret that weighs on her heart. She's not a senseless killer; not like the Grand Highblood. On the other hand her fits of rage were much more controlled when she did not have someone sassing right back at her that wasn't Dualscar. At least that had been enjoyable to some extent. She follows, her fingers massaging the bridge of her nose in contempt. "Just keep walkin---"
Without really realizing it, she stops due to a sudden hit of warmth from the light spilling into the hallway. Maybe she just expected it to be much further away. Anyway, Mindfang sticks her hand into it and recoils backward. Daylight? "You've got to be joking. There's no way." There has to be some kind of mistake in this. How the hell are they supposed to walk around in the middle of the day? Now she's convinced they're trying to kill them. "This---come back here! We're both going to burn."
[ooc: >w> He'll survive. If only with a few swats to the back of his head for being a smartass ]

Why does she put with this? Some sadistic part of her desired to wait and see if he would burst into flames, but when that didn't happen her mouth flattened into distasteful line. She sighs, stepping out into the sunlight for the first time. Honestly, its not all that great with the damn blazing heat. "Duly noted." Even so, she brings a hand up to shield her eyes from the light. This is definitely going to take some getting used to. "You know, you act just like him. Stubborn and always going around with these ridiculous ideas that no one else seems to have yet."
Where they exit from the chamber seems to be the very bottom tier of Death City. Far from the center it may be, but the town was still teeming with life. Though, much of it seemed morbid what with the decoration and shop names. "I'm starting to think I really am dead and this is some odd punishment for robbing people blind. Who the hell eats at 'Grateful Dead Cookies. . .Sweetness To Die For'?"

"Shut the fuck up you aren't dead. These people are obviously just uncreative about names." Still, he has to agree that it's a little unnerving.
no subject
"Exactly like him." She murmurs under her breath, suppressing that urge to just tape his mouth shut. Or rather glue it shut. That sounds much more favorable and a lot more permanent.
"Obviously the art of sarcasm evades whatever miniscule portion of a think pan you have left." Of course she isn't dead. At least he got the point of the statement in his follow up. "I don't suppose anyone has a map. Casualty Communal. . . I suppose if I had to guess it's somewhere near that." Yes, shade. Let's work on getting this Ancestor some shade before she goes insane. "Look for someone rich. We are going to speed this process up a bit."

I DO WHAT I WANT.
For someone how claims to know an awful lot about the Ancestors, he sure as hell isn't very informed on how Mindfang likes to conduct business. While he's rambling away about something that has absolutely nothing to do with anything, she's flirting it up with a civilian politely asking for a few directions while the slight of her hand has already robbed the poor man of his wallet.
He's off and leaving by the time Karkat can even come up with another retort to her actions that don't seem to ever make sense. (Or do they?) "If you're done scolding me, which is much more than I should allow you to get away with, this housing situation is due northeast and I've got a few....whatever this is for food. Maybe if you start shaping up I'll buy you something nice too."
There's a wicked grin painted on her blue lips that just doesn't seem too moral. "I'm not sure how the currency here works yet but I'm willing to guess 2,000 of anything is enough to get going."

Though, for a moment, she just sighs. Why is she letting a kid get to her? This isn't like her at all. Something seems a bit. . .off. "On the other hand, I desire to keep you around namely due to interest in your knowledge of other. . .what's the word. . .timelines. I'm curious to know what you know, but I don't have a desire to pry it out of you if you insist on acting completely uncivil." There, that's a little better maybe. Get a hold of yourself, Marquise. "Now, are you going to calm down or is it best we part ways?"
[ooc: Throwing this out there, she's struggling with her Meister ability that she doesn't know she has yet. Her damaged soul perception is grasping onto the emotions of others and increasing her ability to 'feel' those emotions eightfold. Just thought I'd mention that. xD TL;DR she's on emotional overload and doesn't know how the fuck to control it yet.]

[Poor Mindfang being around Karkat probably makes that ten times worse ahaha.]

Poor Dualscar. "For starters, why do you know so much about me? You mentioned me being dead." That seemed like a good place to start. There's so much she doesn't know. Poor Karkat is going to be chattering for a while.no subject

Right in the feels!
"Come, we've a building to find. We should be close." She ushers Karkat to walk with her, keeping pace to their destination. There is no purpose in dwelling on the inevitable. Mortality is a part of life no matter the fierce defiance to sate it without consequence. "It is odd to be told one does not have much of a future." She finally gets out passed her veneer of mixed emotions that range somewhere between indifference and insurmountable grief. "I suppose that makes the lot of you that survived very important. Make your efforts count. And when you get back, tell my descendent I said hello."
Oh, ouch. ;;;

She smiles a bit, chuckling. "Learn to take a compliment, Karkat. I don't give them often." Mindfang isn't going to ask. There's only so much she can take all in one day. Displacement, death, and drama are not her favorite activities. "Or I'll start calling you little again."
