[Open] There and Back Again

Description: The mission's simple: Arrest the perpetrators, and get our friends back. Of course, the kidnappers aren't going to make it simple...



The first step was finding a way into the tunnels connected to the sewers. Thanks to Guest investigators and the Death City Police Department, two entrances were found, allowing for a pincer movement. The mirrors are primed and ready to go, situated in the sewers proper by dawn and ready for a quick extraction of the abduction victims. On the other side, in the Shibusen clinic, medics are on standby for medical treatment of the victims and the fighters heading in to clear out and apprehend the masked weirdoes.

But the masked weirdoes have tricks up their own sleeves: The tunnels are littered with pit traps, thin wire triggers waiting to be sprung (or disarmed) with darts, arrows, or even falling rocks and debris in store for any intruders that decide to enter these makeshift halls, and the perpetrators themselves are armed with melee weapons, smoke and pepper bombs, and sheer numbers.

Today is also the day that the kidnappers have decided that a little isolation would make the prisoners more compliant. Roughly hauled up bright and early one by one, they're on their way to individual chambers when they each get a message via clairvoyance as promised:



"We're coming."

[[Bakura's been nervous and keyed up the entire day and right now is no exception. He's not even sure he should have come, what good was he going to be if they got into a tight spot? But if someone got hurt, he would never have forgiven himself for not being there to heal them as fast as possible...

So he's doing his best to try and be calm and not radiate his anxiety all over the place. He's there to support and help Takuto, the last thing his friend needed was to have more of that!]]

...I feel like I should have brought graph paper...

[[Maybe it was just his nerves, but the feel like they were stepping into a dungeon right out of an RPG was very strong...]]

Mapping out the tunnels. It looks almost like it'll be a maze... so keeping track of where we've been might be good, especially for when we need to leave again!

[He stares for a moment, feeling like it was a very good thing he'd asked Ryou to come along. Knowing the right way to get out of the tunnels once they'd rescued Yako was something Takuto had never considered.

He really hasn't thought much further than getting to Yako herself.]

I suppose we'll just have to try to remember our way out?

[[nods]] If we go slowly, I can try and memorize it. Might be a good idea anyway, in case there are any traps or anything like that!

[[...detect trap would be an amazing skill to have. Maybe that was the unknown roll?

...no, not likely.]]

Yes, but going slowly isn't really going to get us anywhere until tomorrow. Maybe we can just leave a trail with loaves of bread or something?

[He's pretty sure the story was a little different than loaves of bread but the point is the same, right? Ryou can figure something out so they can move along fast enough without getting lost.]

[[Bakura frowns slightly, pondering]] Maybe if we had something to mark the walls with... since I didn't think to bring any crumbs or anything like that...

I didn't bring anything to mark the walls with.... [It didn't seem like using any of the weapons to carve marks in the wall would be helpful, either. It'd probably just annoy the weapons.]

[shiromadoushi]

[[and it wasn't as if his Weapon form would be any good for it.]] Mm... that's a bit of a pr-- aaa!

[[He reaches into his pocket for his mirror]] where is it, where is it, where-- aaa!

[[He looks up with a huge grin]] I can draw it on this! I'd almost forgotten!

[[and swiftly, he gets to sketching, awkwardly holding the mirror in his left hand as his right moves swiftly]]

[Now they were sure to be successful! Since Takuto is not going to accept anything less than recovering Yako, and Ryou is going to make sure they all find their way out, too.]

Just don't go so fast that I can't keep up drawing it, OK?

[[though with how swiftly Bakura was sketching... that might not be an issue unless Takuto started running]]

[It's the best reason Takuto's been given to not rush into things, though, so he sets out at a brisk walk.]
