[Open] There and Back Again
Characters: Rescue Operation volunteers, kidnapping victims, medics
Location: Underground tunnel system, beneath Death City
Rating: Varies
Time: May 13th, 7 AM
Description: The mission's simple: Arrest the perpetrators, and get our friends back. Of course, the kidnappers aren't going to make it simple...
The first step was finding a way into the tunnels connected to the sewers. Thanks to Guest investigators and the Death City Police Department, two entrances were found, allowing for a pincer movement. The mirrors are primed and ready to go, situated in the sewers proper by dawn and ready for a quick extraction of the abduction victims. On the other side, in the Shibusen clinic, medics are on standby for medical treatment of the victims and the fighters heading in to clear out and apprehend the masked weirdoes.
But the masked weirdoes have tricks up their own sleeves: The tunnels are littered with pit traps, thin wire triggers waiting to be sprung (or disarmed) with darts, arrows, or even falling rocks and debris in store for any intruders that decide to enter these makeshift halls, and the perpetrators themselves are armed with melee weapons, smoke and pepper bombs, and sheer numbers.
Today is also the day that the kidnappers have decided that a little isolation would make the prisoners more compliant. Roughly hauled up bright and early one by one, they're on their way to individual chambers when they each get a message via clairvoyance as promised:
"We're coming."
[ooc: You know the drill; tag your characters in and make your own threads using the following format: [Character(s)][Location][Open/Closed], and the victims are welcome to make threads as well for interactions among each other and those that find them. The operation will be complete at around noon with arrests taking place for a few hours afterward, for those in need of a timeline!]

There is no time to solve that mystery right now, however, not while Yako and the others are still in danger. Many of the kidnappers, he's sure, will be arrested today and by tomorrow the questions should have answers. His motivation now aligns with that of his Meister--get to Yako, bring her back safely.
While Takuto is a constant whirlwind of forward movement, Yuugi takes advantage of his ability to look around and think, analyzing the situation and their surroundings as best as he can. The group they are fighting is not very large; Takuto should be able to break through with little trouble and then they can make their way through the tunnels without interference, at least for a while.]

He blocks an attack with a club with his Watch sword and then reverses his grip on Yuugi and punches, hitting the person's mask squarely with Yuugi's hilt and cracking the stupid mask cleanly into three pieces. The person didn't seem to be conscious as he toppled over.
There's something about people wearing masks that he hates.
He elbows another attacker in the sternum, sending him against the wall, and then there's only one left. It looks like this will be over in the next ten seconds, but Takuto doesn't know a smoke bomb is already at his feet. It'll make things much more difficult in three... two...
One....]

But perhaps he is a little distracted, because somehow that smoke bomb escapes his notice until the last moment.]
Takuto-kun, watch it!
[The bomb is well-made; there's a bright flash and then the tunnel is filled with a thick white smoke that doesn't want to dissipate in the small space.
The last attacker is armed with nothing more than a wooden bat. Yuugi's weapon form has a far greater range but a blind swing could be very dangerous for their opponent, not something he wants to risk. He's about to warn Takuto to duck in the split second he thinks they have before being attacked themselves, when an unexpected sound echoes on the walls--it's the sound of a person running back up the tunnel, away from them. But why--?]
no subject
Now what? [He keeps blinking and getting smoke in his eyes as he carefully moves sideways, trying to find the wall to serve as a point of reference. But through the smoke he can clearly hear a strange sound, very much like a gear turning or perhaps... a large ball rolling? Whatever it is, it's getting ominously louder....]
