Characters: Signless, Disciple, Psiioniic, Sollux, Feferi, and Aranea? SORRY IF I MISSED SOMEONE
Location: The Ancestor Den
Rating: PG? Maybe a bit of language.
Time: April 25th-30th? IDK However long people want to stay, just use this a catch all log xD;
Description: With the arrival of a certain catfish, there are a lot of discussions to be had.
[It was strange that it had never occurred to her that any of their "enemies" might appear here in Death City. BREW certainly worked in mysterious ways if it thought someone like the Condesce would easily lend her hand to the war effort. She supposed she should at least be grateful that it had stripped her of so many of the things that would make her a dangerous foe, but considering what the Empress' mere presence could do to some of those she held dear to her, Di wasn't feeling especially thankful.
Given that their home was away from any of the free shelters where most newcomers resided it seemed the obvious choice to open up their doors to all those trolls who would be in immediate danger of the Condesce. She scrambled around making preparations for the large host of people they would be getting--thankfully she still had all the furs she had on her person upon her first arrival and they would serve as good temporary beds until they managed to get something better.
The couch had been covered in blankets and pillows, all the furs laid out before it to make a secondary bed. Drinks were pulled out in preparation and when the first knock came she quickly marched over, peeking through the glass in the center of the door before opening it up.]

['Hectic' had to be a light way of putting it. She huffed and slightly nudged Di in the side. It's all good. Comforting and supporting people was kind of her thing.]

I don't believe I ever told you much--at least not the details of my own world. Unfortunately not all rulers are quite as great as you [a bigger smile at that, and for a moment she does wonder how it would be like to have been born in Ammy's world]. A troll recently arrived called the Condesce, she made quite the entrance.

[Condesce? That sounds like that word she heard here. Condense... condensation... hehe. Alright, done with joking; she woofs. Is she really someone to worry about her?]

She ruled the world cruelly, caring more about power than anything else. She herself was a very powerful troll, wielding a number of abilities, a great beast, and an army at her beck and call. I had always assumed she was quite cunning and devious--how else could she have gained such an iron grip on the world for the millenia she has lived?
[After meeting her first hand it was hard to believe. It had to be true but the way in which she dealt with things...]
It is because of her that so many of our customs and law end with death instead care and nurture.

[Ammy places a paw on Disciple's knee. Is that what led to this hive becoming crowded?]

While she is still someone to be wary of, without her powers there isn't much she can do here. Still, I fear for my family, especially Psiioniic. She did...a lot of terrible things to him. To all of them, but especially him. I guess you could say we did some things to [a vaguely smug look] make her not so happy.

[She gives a snort and best smirk back. Oh, is that right? That probably annoyed her a great deal. The smirk fell soon though; something told her that tale wasn't over.]

Are you up for a story, Ammy?

On Alternia, there existed a lovely jade-blood who went by the title of Dolorosa. Like all trolls of her hue, she held a position of respect as the only kind allowed to enter the brooding chambers where the Mother Grubs dwelt. She was a midwife and caretaker of these creatures who gave birth to all trolls, and it was her duty to oversee the hatching of the young grubs until they were ready to begin their trials.
The Dolorosa especially excelled in her work, and she took pride in it; however, one day she came across something that would make her leave the work she cherished forever--and she would never regret it. On one of her rare passages to the surface she came across a crater, and in the crater was a wiggler. His blood color was that of a bright red--a color that did not exist on the hemospectrum, the hierarchical system made up of twelve blood castes that dominated and was the precedence of so much of troll society. He would be considered a mutant, and if he did not die on his own, he would be killed on the spot.
That was when she decided to do something that no troll had ever done before. Typically, once trolls become a certain age they are adopted by a lusus. That is a creature that can come in the form of any animal. Mine, for example, was a cat. The Dolorosa, however, knew that because of his mutant blood there would be no lusus sympathetic to him, and so she decided to abandon her duty, and raise him as her own.

[Bah, that was off topic right now. How kind of Dolorosa to care for the 'mutant' troll. The goddess nodded so Di could continue.]

Unfortunately things only grew more difficult for them, when the little troll who would eventually come to be known as the Signless began to have visions. He had visions of our world as it once was long, long ago--a world far more peaceful than Alternia. One which cherished helping others and compassion, instead of strength and culling anything 'weak', different or unusual. These vision caused him to ask more and more about their world, why it was the way it was, and eventually he came to feel that things should be different. He wanted to bring about change.
His mother feared. Yet despite the fear, she knew he had come to an age where his decisions were his own, and so instead she supported him. The two of them began traveling, and he began to speak of his beliefs and visions.

He spoke mostly only to those who were lower on the hemospectrum, to people who had become so accustomed to their lot in life that they couldn't even imagine it any other way.
[Her expression became wistful as she remembered when she too, was like that]
Low bloods. Rust, mud, mustard, bile. You get told these things from the moment you're hatched, it's more or less lawfully accepted that you can be treated however they want by higher bloods. It's socially engrained in you not to even question it. Then here came a person who was verbalizing things that many trolls subconsciously felt but could never really internalize in any way. Many were scared, many shied away---but many more lifted their heads and listened.
One of them was Psiinoiic. Did you get a chance to meet him?
no subject
[Yes, she did. They actually met on the Shibusen stairs when he was trying to go up. She liked him.]

They traveled, and slowly they began to have more and more of an influence on the world. Wherever they went they made a change, and that was prevalent no more than in my own home.

I almost don't think you would have recognized me. I never spoke to anyone outside of business, I thought the best way to live was just to keep my head low and look out for myself. I didn't even realize how unhappy I was with my life. I had been even worse before--so hostile and angry all the time.
[She lifted her head to speak a little more clearly] Much like Psiioniic I had always been ill at ease with how the way things were run. Opening my heart and being friendly with everyone had cost me my lusus, it was a lesson that unfortunately many trolls learned.
Yet when they came to my village and I heard him speak, I too found myself at conflict. I did not leave with them the first time but his words had inspired everyone and I got to see first hand just what they could do. Things became so much better in my home and everyone began to practice what he had spoken of. They too, invited me, despite the fact that I was a higher caste from them and for the first time since I could remember I felt happy.
When they returned perigrees later, I joined them as well, wanting to see the same miracle that happened in my home, happen elsewhere.

ooc; also! i wanted to ask if you'd be alright with di asking ammy to be a bridesmaid ? :3
[She paused, and regarded Ammy a bit. Out of everyone she had come to meet, the deity was perhaps the one she had grown most fond of]
But my real name is Meulin Leijon. [It was the first time she had given her real name out in...sweeps. It felt good to do so]
Our following grew. More trolls began to take their rights and help one another...but that also meant that we were gaining the notice of highbloods and soon we were being actively persecuted. [The smile faded a bit]
Things grew chaotic, more volatile. It had become a revolution, and a violent one at that which was something Signless had never wanted. We fought when we had no choice, and eluded our pursuers for as long as we could, but eventually we were caught.
[And now came the hard part]
ooc; That's totally fine!
