The city was in good shape today, despite the recent attack to it and the unfortunate earthquake a month back. The damages to the city had been repaired best as they could, and everything else was covered in a healthy heap of decor for the upcoming Valentine’s Day.

Things were a bit somber, as was expected after so many of the residents lost their loved ones. Fortunately, if there was something Death City was good at, it was getting back on its feet after a fall.

He nodded to confirm. What was it she'd said, that she'd been here three months...?

But with Yosuke's question, Kanji frowned and rubbed the back of his head. Shit, where to start?

"The thing that brought you guys here... BREW? It likes to snatch people from different timelines or somethin'. Least, that's what I was told. I was goin' upstairs to bed at home when I woke up here." Uhhh, what else did he know.

"Then our timelines kinda freeze until we're sent back home." Yeah, this was some Grade A sci-fi bullshit, but bear with him. It makes just about as much sense to him as it probably did for the other boy right now.

But Kanji really did look serious. Yosuke could tease until the cows came home, but that still wouldn't send him home. He sighed, dragging his hand down his face.

"So how do we stop it? No offense, dude, but I don't think I can stomach being here for a whole month..."

"Yeah, welcome t'my world," he replied rather bitterly.

"...But the guy that runs the place made some kinda wish to BREW for help to win the war that's goin' on, so it started grabbin' people. All anybody knows is we can't go home n' stay there 'til that's all sorted out."

He paused. Was now a good time to mention what Adachi was here? Maybe it would be better to have what remained of the Investigation Team here so nobody had to explain a million times.

Yosuke rubbed at his temple, biting out a deep sigh. Damn, this was all so confusing. Not to mention fucked up. They had families, what was BREW expecting, them to just live here forever? Fight some war as meat shields?

"But that could take years." Spoken like someone who didn't realize he was saying what others had said over and over again. These weren't the big time revelations he was spinning them as. "We don't have years to fight some war that doesn't affect us!"

"Preachin' to the choir, Senpai," he groused.

"But there ain't shit anybody knows about BREW, just that it grants wishes or whatever... they dunno how to send us home, so they give us a place to sleep n' train us, not that it makes up for the kidnapping, but..." And he sighed.

Ammy. I'm Souji. [he smiles and pets her head a little.] It's nice to meet you.

Throughout Kanji's explanation, Yosuke was working hard to grind a wedge into his brow with his fingers. He had so much to say, but where do you even start?

"Let me get this straight," Yosuke began, voice already promising to get louder and more ridiculous as he went. "The locals brought us here with their maaaagical dream machine, but the dream machine can't be controlled by anyone here, so we're stuck?! Here's a brilliant idea! Maybe whoever made the first wish could be all, yo, hey, what's up, turns out? That wish was a reeeeal bad idea. Turns out, flooding the place with angry people DIDN'T help us win our stupid war. I wish they went home!"

Yosuke dropped the volume and sickly sweet Junes voice barely concealing his mounting frustration. "Problem solved."

"R-really? Thank you...!" Taiyou held it up against what was left of the setting sun's light; reflecting on the surface of his new soccer ball. "You still want to play a round or two?"

[He chuckles softly, scratching behind her ears a little.]

Kanji just blinked at him, mulling a few things over. Kid made that wish in desperation, and most likely regretted it considering the types of some people who arrived to 'answer the call', but what Yosuke just said...

"Wait. Y'think that'd work?!" Yes. Kanji believed him. A wish brought them here, so a wish would send them back, right?

"More carried than dragged," Bakura pointed out with amusement, heading for the elevators to press the call button. "And it's a pretty good building, un!" Not as nice as some of the ones he'd lived in back home, but these were being provided free of charge, and for one person (who hadn't managed to build up a huge game collection that needed it's own room) it was a good size. "Everything's in really good shape and they even let you have pets!" Something that the luxury apartments from home hadn't...

Unfortunately, no one will be able to tell you. It's something you'll discover once you start attempting to transform. [And that's unhelpful, he realizes]

The most common weapon type seems to be the form of a sword, and others have transformed into weapons they use in their own world. Further than that however, I don't know.

Shindou watched Taiyou, smiling fondly. "Of course, I'm always up for soccer. We should go look for a place to play."

Carl thought for a moment. He'd experienced memory-erasing techniques before and although he couldn't remember what had been done to him, he could remember what they'd tried to take away. However, BREW's memory erasure might prove more effective.

"Maybe not," he acknowledged. Then, he held up his tape recorder, "But I've got recordings of Spirit and Gai explaining what happened to us. So even if I don't remember my experiences here, I will at least know what happened to me."

Yes! Carry! Why would dragging be the first option? Oh well, she continued to push the wheelchair, turning it to face the elevator doors when Bakura pressed the button.

"You know, I don't really know." She shrugged a little, "They didn't use these machines when I came here. I just had someone else look at my soul." And afterwards she hadn't had any reason to get her soul looked at again.

Not really, we only spoke once and only briefly at that.

It was definitely better to be on the ground. He would need to check over himself once he was finally given some time alone, but for now he would push it out of his mind so he could talk more with his sensei.

"If Neji is grumpy then I will just have to persuade him to cheer up!" Lee grinned, knowing that his rival was very taciturn and moody at times, but he was never that way forever. If anyone could cheer him up, Lee was confident that he would be the man.

All this talk about the best spots for running and training got Lee's adrenaline spiking again. He probably could use a rest and a shower, but training was like religion. He could drop anything if it meant finding out more ways he could better himself. "I look forward to it, Gai-sensei!"

Without needing any prompting, Lee reached around and hugged his sensei for all his worth. "I am glad to be here with you, too, sensei." He chuckled. "But I saw you earlier today, before I arrived! I am not sure how it is possible for you to have been here for four months. It is confusing."

"So if there are people I want to remember I should do something similar, right?" Though she tiled her head a little.

"Why do you have all that stuff on you?"

Ah. I see. That's too bad. [He smiles, making sure to give it a hint of detection while he inwardly scowled at her. Stupid wench, what's it with first making such big announcements and then not even knowing anything usable? What a waste of time!

He makes sure that his voice reflects nothing of those thoughts.] Well, maybe you can tell me later if you ever happen to find out more about it? [A faked fidget, as if he were secretly worried about the next part.] They said that you were going to take a look at our souls. Is there anything that I have to do?

He laughed. "I'm pretty heavy though!" But he was joking about being dragged of course.

"Where can we find out where I'm supposed to be?"
