Mission log! [Closed]
Characters: Auron and Koujurou
Location: Andorra
Rating: A for ASS KICKING
Time: Feb. 10
Description: What better way to celebrate having your Weapon back than going on a mission?
After making sure they had a survival kit prepared just in case of something going awry, Auron was ready to tackle this latest mission. He hadn't realized how much he'd missed Koujurou until the man had left. It felt honestly good to be working side by side once more.
This particular mission involved finding a kishin egg that could be responsible for people disappearing. It might mean a bit of a fight. Fortunately Auron's request for a real sword had been completed. He wore a large Spiran-style katana strapped to his back. If he got separated from Koujurou for any reason, he'd be able to defend himself.
"So we find a long haired woman with bug wings?" he asked his partner.

A frown crossed Kojuro's face as he considered the information. This would not be the first time that he had been in a risky situation before, and most definitely not the first time during a mission for Shibusen. Briefly, some of his operations with Vergil came to mind.
"I will volunteer for the task."
He was the Weapon between them. He could easily shift out and stab where it hurt, giving them the delay that he and Auron needed in order to get into position.

He clapped his hand to his Weapon's shoulder. "I guess it gives me a chance to try out my new sword if I have to beat her off you."

"That is always a good reason for testing a blade." Trust in people like them to find that sort of crack funny. The samurai looked around again, then turned back to his companion. "Now, we must find a good place."

Auron scouted along the banks. "I'll have to hide enough back into the foliage. The banks are pretty exposed so you'll have to hang onto her as long as you can while I run your way."
I suppose we can timeskip in your next tag? Have Auron camping out and waiting?
Kojuro turned away then, intent on heading for his new destination. He paused just long enough to shift his arm into a blade once, as if testing if he could still do it. It had been a long time, after all.
Once he was satisfied, he spoke again.
"Let us prepare."
Timeskip ahoy
Koujurou was supposed to stroll up to the bank any time now. Auron had waited a good half and hour where he was and hadn't seen a thing. Still, he kept a hand on his sword. Waiting.

A few minutes more of waiting, and just before he was about to move off again, he heard a sweet voice call out from behind. He turned around, and spotted a beautiful woman standing some distance away from him.
From Auron's point of view, what he would see in the next few moments was the pair drawing closer, talking. Then, just as Kojuro wrapped his arms around the woman, she sprouted wings.
It was then that Kojuro shifted one arm, planting it against their target's chest. Her shriek of surprise and pain pierced the air as the blade that his arm had become ran her through.

He did not want to guess whether the kishin egg had a stinger or some kind of poisonous bite. He smacked the monster in the face, coming between the two of them.
Auron didn't yell out for his partner to transform. He figured the Weapon would know that Auron was guarding him those few seconds for the necessary transformation. It was like a resonance of thought and will before Koujurou actually transformed.

The click of their wavelengths filled his soul with power. The Weapon immediately lit up with the telltale crackle of electricity. Good thing too: the kishin was starting to recover, and was now attempting to flee.
Damn, that is a good icon there! With appropriate keywords
The kishin egg fell to the bank of the river. It screeched with pain and looked up. Auron showed no mercy as he hacked the kishin egg through its torso.
Haha, thanks!
It was amazing how the two of them worked so well together now. Any reaffirmation of that filled the retainer with satisfaction.

"Didn't even have a chance," he said, smiling.

Eating the thing was never pleasant, but it did not matter. Such a thing made him stronger.
"Perhaps we should head back."

He clapped his Weapon and friend on the shoulder and trotted back to his hiding place. Hopefully the denizens of the forest hadn't started to eat his coat. He was kind of attached to it.

"We should report the dispatch to the local citizenry as well. They deserve to know that the monster that was hunting them has been sent back where it belongs."
no subject
"Good idea. At least they might be able to search for the dead and perform their version of a Sending."

Kojuro usually wanted to return immediately, but this was his first mission out with Auron in what he felt had been a long time.

It was a bit of a process for Auron to get his coat back on, from sash to belts to the new shoulder harness for his sword. "So a little reward for your first mission back?"
no subject
"We do not need to linger for very long." Then, with a smile, "I simply wish to enjoy the moment, yes."
