Description: SEES has been without leadership for a while, so it's time to talk about that and other things. Over dinner.

The SEES HQ is a humble, unadorned office in the process of renovation. There is scaffolding on the outside (really a continuation of the arcade expansion happening next door) and buckets of paint on the floor inside, stored until needed.

The arrangement of desks in the middle and chairs along the outside give it an almost conference room feeling, except that each seat has a dinner setting of plate and utensils (and chopsticks), and the middle of the table is covered in Kanji's generous dinner spread.

[She looks over at him] Did you stay up all night preparing this?

[She sighs] Should you prepare food like this again in the future, I will have to do something about it. [Both you and Minato...]

I didn't know about the meeting until he talked about it yesterday!

[He smoothed his fingers through his hair with a sigh.]

Wouldn't'a minded a better heads-up... I'm beat.

[pishirogane]

Yes. I'm going to have a word with Arisato-san about his scheduling.

... Go to bed early tonight, alright?

[topgun_textiles]

[A nod, though he turned away a little while doing so.]

Y-yeah, I was gonna crash after the meeting clean-up.

[Or fall asleep during the meeting. Just you watch.]

... Can you look me in the eye and say that?

[She really doesn't want you staying up all night again.]

[Kanji wasn't sure whether to take that rhetorically or literally, so he went with the latter.]

[He pulled away from the table and did just that, knowing full well she had sharp eyes and could catch even the slightest hint of bullcrap.]

I promise I'm goin' to bed after this, Naoto-kun.

[A bit of a chuckle.]

What, do I gotta have you tuck me in to confirm?

[Oh. Oh, the lack of sleep had him slow on the uptake. With a brief sound of surprise in his throat, he went red.]

W-wait, uh, I didn't mean it like that! I-I was... er... y'know, s-sayin' stuff. Sorry, that was bad.

Don't give me ideas...

[She's sure Tifa wouldn't mind. It's not as though they would do anything else, but Kanji passing out would not be going to bed voluntarily.]

[Anyway, she looks away to note any new arrivals.]

[A syllable in his throat in surprise, but that shut him up as he sought a fascinating place on the ceiling to stare at for a while.]

[Tifa more than likely wouldn't mind; perhaps because they wouldn't... uh.]

[TRAYS. Gotta finish those trays. Kanji scooted away to, er, go about that whole thing before too many people got here. Who knows when Minato wanted to get the meeting started.]

[Naoto watched Kanji run off, a question mark almost visible over her head. Was it something she said? Oh well, she returns to adjusting the spread so its just right.]
