Description: Losing many people over a short period of time can take a toll on a man's well-being.

Losing people never really came easy to Genesis. Perhaps it did, a long time ago, when he was growing mad with the effects of degradation. But now that he was sane, he could feel how deeply it hurt to lose someone he cared for. What hurt even more so was that it didn't take much time for him to lose each person he grew close to.

The first to leave was one of his closest friends, Dante. Despite his falling out with Vergil, Genesis persisted to stay close with the other red-coated man. Losing him was almost as if losing a brother of his own. Carmine was next: his most fiery partner-- an unforgettable woman who had never left him dissatisfied. Granted, there were periods he realized that she was playing games with him, but he didn't seem to care much, as long as he had authority in some other ways. Then, there was Sakuya-- Carmine's antithesis, a quiet girl with a heart full of quiet poetry. Observing her was almost always like seeing poetry come to life. And finally, there was Clovis: a man he had considered his closest friend in all of Death City. It was his disappearance that cut into Genesis the most, like a fresh wound that couldn't close.

Until now, he was still hurting. And many times, he would simply go out of his way to wander about the city, wondering where the Goddess could take him next.

"Me?" She blinked, before tipping her head back thoughtfully. For some reason, she was inexplicably reminded of Sora all of a sudden.

She turned back to him with a smile, "How about we go for some ice cream?"

[recitings]

"It's been a while since I've had that," his smile softens. "Alright. That sounds like a good idea."

Do you want to timeskip to the ice cream place after this?

[blue_wayfinder]

"Is Death Robbins all right with you?" If not, she doesn't really know where else they can go for ice cream...

Sure, sure! 'w'

"It is, totally," Genesis chuckles. Even he doesn't really know where else they can go for ice cream. So with that said, the two head off to the shop.

It was (unsurprisingly, given the time of year) not very busy at Death Robbins, so it wasn't long before they were sitting down with their ice cream.

After thinking for a bit, she'd gone with what Sora had recommended to her the last time she was here: blue berry and vanilla.

"It's been a while since the last time I was here."

Genesis, on the other hand, decided to go with a classic chocolate-- not much in the mood to explore other flavors in the meantime. He sits across from Aqua, his expression just a bit wistful.

"I can't remember when I was here last. When was the last time you came for ice cream, anyway?"

[blue_wayfinder]

"It was..." When was it? She thought about it as she tapped her spoon lightly against the side of the cup. "Early December, maybe. The weather was a bit too cold for ice cream, but this boy I knew, his name was Sora, he looked like he really wanted some, so I offered to pay for him." Her smile was a fond as she recounted her experience, but also a little...not sad, really, but definitely lonely.

He smiled warmly at her in return. "That was very kind of you. I suppose you miss him?"

With the two of them sitting face to face in the parlor, most people gave them rather curious looks: one man with fiery, copper hair sitting across a svelte girl with vividly-colored blue locks. Genesis didn't quite realize it, though. Well. Maybe not until he notices the eyes on them every so often.

Svelte. I just learned a new word. XD

"You should have seen him." She said with a quiet laugh, "He had his face pressed against the glass. If I didn't know better I'd think he was trying to pass through it."

If there were drawing any sort of attention Aqua certainly didn't notice it.

Her smile faded a little, though it...didn't hurt quite as much now. "He's safer back home. That's all that matters."

"I have an associate who was like that," He smiles a little sadly, remembering Zack.

"He had returned home, too."

[blue_wayfinder]

"I'm sorry." She stared at her ice cream for a moment, not really feeling much like eating it despite suggesting they come here.

"What was his name?"

"His name was Zack Fair."

Ah, the complications that come with playing a KH character...

"You know Zack?"

Genesis blinked at Aqua's surprise. "Did you meet him while he was here in Death City? He's a fellow SOLDIER, my junior."

"A soldier?" That can't be right. Didn't Zack say he wanted to be a hero? She pursed her lips before asking, "Have you ever been to the Colosseum?"

Maybe they weren't talking about the same person at all...

And then Genesis looked at her a bit puzzled.

"No. I haven't even heard of such a place..."

"Oh." She was a little disappointed. She really would have liked to know what became of the boy she met.

"I guess we're talking about different people then. The Zack I knew was training to become a hero so he was always participating in the games being held in the Colosseum."
