[OPEN]

Characters: OPEN
Location: Outskirts of Nevada
Rating: PG
Time: All day, Feb 27
Description: Shibusen offers a field trip to acclimate the guests to the Madness wavelength.

It's a perfectly pleasant day for the most part, if one is to look at the sky and maybe the horizon. For the attendees of the fieldtrip, however, things are naturally a lot more grim, if also lot more colorful. There are understandably no civilians in the area -- or any other signs of life apart from the group.

As promised, the location is extensively arranged to cordon off various areas of the place where Madness spikes have been identified. They are all properly labeled, both with text and visuals, and discreet agents kept an eye on all corners of the large field. The mirror by which the guest will come in is set in a corner, with some food provided next to it.

People are free to come and go, though the other end leads to the clinic instead of the Death Room. The rules are simple: venture into a level you think you can handle, and if you can't, someone will help.

In the afternoon, a light rain will come to add some variety to the endless desert. Make sure to take shelter in the open tents provided to protect you from the elements!

[ooc: Just put in open tags in the comments, [Character Name | Open/Close | Area/sort of madness targeted/whatever marker you want].

Plotting and information post was here.]

I'm so sorry for the late tag! It seems I have missed the notif ._.

Demona’s own blurry memories of everything that happened to her through his life – and it has been a long, long life – haunted her, made her revive all of it in her mind and plagued her with the suppressed guilt she always kept locked inside of her. She still firmly believed it was the human’s fault, refusing to see that her clan’s demise, the betrayals she suffered and the pain she felt were, in a way, all related to her own bad decisions and her desire for revenge.

It couldn’t be her fault; it WASN’T her fault, no! All she wanted was to protect her clan, like a gargoyle should!

Her red glowing eyes turn around, noticing Barnaby staring at her. Humans. They were always around, vicious creatures that could not even love their own kind, much less accept other kinds. They were a poison that had to be purged; they were evil and only deserved death. And she would start with this one. Hissing loud, Demona stepped towards the blond, and the hiss soon turned into a loud growl as her wings spread in a menacing way.

Fire and smoke, the two signs of danger and hatred tugged his mind, trying to get his attention, but he was completely taken by the sight before him. Those glowing red eyes, like the flickering of flames--had turned right to him. That hadn't been what he was expecting at all, if he even knew what he was expecting, though he was sure this wasn't it in any case.

But he knew just staring forward, as the unfamiliar woman's wings branched out and that hissing turned to gnarling, his fists tightened even more. And with that, his right foot shifted, steadying his balance.

A fight? He could take her on. He wanted to. He wasn't even sure why, but he wanted to fight. And he was at his worst when he fought angry.

Demona didn't lose her time trying to figure out Barnaby's defense because she was simply too blinded by hatred and madness to pay attention to it. The Gargoyle rushed towards him, but like all Gargoyles run, she threw herself to the ground, running on all fours to her target.

When close enough, she swung her body, hoping to attack from under, while a hand with sharp claws raised in order to slash at the man's face if she could. Demona's wings also helped, spreading so he could protect her back, and her tail kept balance so the female wouldn't fall during her attack.

A double attack? Heading from below with a hand raised above, Barnaby wasn't quite sure how well he would do to avoid both attacks. Well, the face was more important, honestly, so he lifted one hand to block the claw first, planning on letting his arm get in the way of that.

But from her swinging herself underneath him, there really was no proper defense on that. Taking the hit, he was flung back, but he managed to roll himself back to his feet after he hit the sandy ground. He didn't attack just yet, surveying what he had just been challenged by: Wings, a tail, claws... Definitely not a fight he's had before, but he was definitely up for this challenge.

When Demona hit the man, she stopped on her tracks, half hoping he'd fall behind. Though her claw attack was stopped, she was quite happy with having hit her opponent nonetheless. After, Demona raised, smirking wide and wings spread, as if to show Barnaby she wasn't a force to be reckon with (so she said, in her mind).

The tail waved, patiently wait for Barnaby to attack now, while the female Gargoyle tensed her muscles and readied herself just in case the human decided to attack her. And matching that, she hissed loud, showing her fangs like an angry animal.

Unfortunately, heroes are quite resilient when it comes to fighting, and, in Barnaby's case, the madness only makes his rage that much more of a useful tool. Hissing, the animal-like features... He really wasn't sure what he was fighting, but he didn't plan on losing.

He launched right at her, almost as if ready to punch--but no, direct attacks didn't seem like they would work. He was actually going in for a feint: Barnaby was always more of a kicker, and if she fell for the fake punch, perhaps he could get a kick in at her stomach.
