Description: Aqua's keeping busy.


Aqua's morning was spent running errands. The fridge needed restocking and other supplies that needed replacing. That she hadn't noticed until she was nearly all out said a great deal about her life recently. Sometime after that she'd parked her bike outside of the library intent on getting some reading done. What she ended up doing was falling asleep on a book for a few hours. Later in the evening she would be out and about in the Outer Quarter doing patrols.

Honestly, after everything that had happened, she felt exhausted, but what else can she do but try to keep going?

[She will spot this one walking through the Shopping District.

He's not dressed for patrol. How curious!]

[She smiled when she spotted him, and walked over with a bag of groceries swinging in her hand.]

Good morning.

[O hai thar.]

Good morning, Aqua. [Spotting the groceries.] You are also doing errands?

Mm. [Accompanied with a nod.] My fridge will be empty if I didn't do them soon.

How have you been?

[Did anybody say bikes? Because Roy was just outside the DOGS office, climbing off of his. He blinked when he noticed Aqua, and smiled.]

Hey. Ready for patrol tonight?

[She smiled back, though she hadn't expected to run into him out here. She nodded.]

I was just heading out, actually.

Mind if I join you?

[Much later in the evening, she may spot a familiar figure in the distance, over in the zone they used to patrol together.

What is Takasugi doing out here, really?]

[It was strange how, despite how much has changed, she could still easily recognize him even from a distance.

There was a short moment where she stopped, hesitated because even now she wasn't sure how to face him.

But the moment didn't last and it wasn't long before she was walking towards him.]

I didn't expect to see you here.

[Turning, noting her presence, and smiling just a bit.

He's getting better at this.]

It's a familiar place to us both, is it not?

[In the supermarket Aqua can bump into a completely negligible young man muttering over a pile of cakes. He seems kind of desperate.]

[She notices him, of course. The somewhat desperate look on his face was kind of worrying. She stares for a second before approaching him, a basket with some of her groceries on her arm.]

Excuse me, is everything all right?

[Yamazaki manages to bring a smile at his face.]

Yes, miss, please don't be so worried of me I'm completely alright, I just..

[Wait, did someone just noticed him? Is such a nice girl actually worrying for him? Maybe this world is not as terrible as he thought.]

I just arrived and I thought it would be good to arrange an arriving party. i have the homemade cookies i1ve got from a beautiful young lady, but I don't know what else would they like to eat or drink or do, like playing card games or video games, and so on.

[Yamazaki shook his head slightly]

It's not that anyone would come even if I invite them...

[The story party earlier in the day had been a success, but Haruka wasn't depleted of energy quite yet. She was too used to long days. Reading, however, was something she was not too used to, and she knew it'd be to her benefit if she worked on changing that. You couldn't really take books on the road, and she was constantly moving from place to place so libraries were out of the question - but here she was stationary, and there was a large library to borrow from. Why not take advantage of it?

She was getting better at using crutches, so it didn't take long to get there, once she'd asked for directions. Haruka was just beginning to explore the library when she spotted Aqua, fast asleep. The lady who had sung... why was she sleeping here? Was she bored? Or exhausted? Maybe she should wake her up and tell her to sleep somewhere more comfortable, so that she didn't wake up feeling sore. That was never fun. But what was a nice way to wake her?

Haruka had a brainwave. As quietly as she could, she hobbled over to Aqua's side, coming to a stop about a meter away. Quietly, slowly increasing in volume, she begins to sing. At first it's what she can remember from the vagabond song, before she gradually mixes in before switching over to her mother's lullaby .]

omg, I loved that song.

[Being sung to like this wasn't something Aqua was used to. At least not since she arrived at the Land of Departure. There were snippets of her life before the Keyblade that she could still remember, but they were all disjointed images and hazy at best. A face with unrecognisable features. A hand on her head. A fluttering white dress. Someone telling her they loved her without being able to remember the cadence of the voice. All less clear than her memories growing up under the watchful eye of Master Eraqus but no less precious all the same.

She hadn't been dreaming when she fell asleep, as people who fall asleep due to exhaustion tend not to do. But as the sound of a song drifted to her, the empty blackness changed and she had her head on someone's lap as they brushed a hand through her hair and sang to her. She didn't realize it, but it was Haruka's voice she heard and not her mother's, but the feelings the memory brought with it were hers. Warm. Safe.

In the waking world, Aqua shifted, curling in a little more with a smile and a soft sigh.

Eventually, though, her eyes would flutter open, though it will be another moment before she'll be awake enough to really take in her surroundings.]

It's so pretty~!

[When she sees Aqua shift and smile, Haruka smiles in turn. It looked like she was having a good dream - maybe she should stop trying to wake her up? But on the bright side, if she were to wake up, she would almost certainly remember her dream, at least.

She lowers the volume of her song as Aqua slowly wakes up, gradually stopping completely. After a moment, she greets her softly to test her level of alertness. She'll save her explanation until Aqua's fully awake.]

Bakura's usual method of dealing with his world being turned upside down was to hide from the problem best he could, or ignore its very existence. Which is why he was attempting to go though his normal routine as nonchalantly as possible, as if he hadn't just found out that the worst person from home possible had arrived in Death City. Thus he was doing some grocery shopping, looking for some good fruits to use in pastry, planning on trying out some new desert recipes to share with the new neighbors (and at least one of the old ones).

Of course, being so focused on hiding from his problem, he's being a bit more absent minded than normal, so it's likely he'll wind up going for the same thing Aqua's reaching for without even noticing until their fingers almost touch. Whoops.

"Aa-- sorry!"

Similarly, Aqua was a bit out of it as well. Not getting enough sleep tended to do that to a person.

She pulled her hand back, "No, it's fi..." She stopped and blinked. It was Leo's friend. The one who made the announcement that he'd gone missing. She smiled, "I haven't seen you in a while."

Bakura blinked once before placing where he'd seen her before and giving a warm smile. "Un, it has been a while! You're Leo's friend, right?"

[Kei was carrying a couple of books on his arms, the tittle could be read "Charles, detective extraordinaire" which Kei carried the volumes 1 to 4.

It's been a while since he picked up a novel, ever since arriving to that world, Kei had been all into getting a notion about Death City's history and war strategies. Afterwards he got himself into the Agency where he went into the previous cases.

But not, as the city somehow was having a sort of quiet time, he felt that he could enjoy a little of his hobby.

He sits on the table, and is about to pick his first book when he notices an young girl, sleeping on an open book which she had most likely started to read.

He raises himself from the chair, placing his hand gently on her shoulder and shaking it slightly.]

Miss?

[At the touch on her shoulder she frowned and tried to curl away from it instinctively, though she couldn't move far away enough.

Eventually her eyes fluttered open and she slowly lifted her head in the direction of the voice.]

...wha?

[She obviously wasn't entirely awake yet.]

Miss... You will suffer from neck and back pains if you maintain this sleeping position. [shakes again]

Hughes had been in the library most of the day looking through various books and trying to find out as much as he could about Death City and this new world that he was stuck in. He was slowly building up a fort of books that he had pulled from the shelves.

On an excursion to find another building block for his book fort, he spotted Aqua reading and decided to say hi—or, rather, the Hughes equivalent of a hi.

"Oh! It's Aqua! Hey! It's nice to see you here! Watcha' reading? It's a nice day out today, right? By the way, did that randomly-bursting-into-song thing ever stop for you?"

Aqua had her head propped up with one hand while she was reading. Or rather, while she was trying to read. If anyone was paying attention they might notice the way her head keeps going forward only to jerk back a little when she realized she was drifting off.

Her eyes were just sliding shut again for the nth time when Hughes suddenly spoke. It was easy to tell she was caught by surprise from the way she suddenly sat straight up with wide eyes.

"Uh." She blushed a little, embarrassed both because she'd fallen asleep and because she'd missed what he said, "...I'm sorry, could you repeat that?"

Realizing her predicament, he chuckled and shook his head. "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you like that, hehe. How are you, Aqua? Did that singing thing stop for you?"
