]Selendis just ignored Kerrigan's approach until she was right there, but she knew the confrontation was inevitable. Otherwise the human wouldn't have been staring her down the entire time. Apparently she refused to leave well enough alone.]

I am here to train for combat, not to satisfy your desire for petty insults.

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and you don't think that I'm a good enough combatant to train your skills on? [She wasn't hurt at all by the potential assessment, and she shrugged her shoulders instead.]

You won't even go for a little sparring, hmm?

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-11-28 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I have no doubt of your skills, Sarah Kerrigan. If you can maintain any degree of honor, then we may spar.

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-11-28 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, you do have the advantage of height and reach. [She wasn't going to let that deter her though. She knew that she was deadly in a fight, but this was sparring and not for injury.]

Do you consider me to have honour enough to spar against?

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-11-28 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Height and reach didn't deter Takasugi from sparring with her nearly every day. If it wasn't a challenge, what was the point?] My advantages should make you no less capable.

I did not say you lacked honor, merely that it remains to be seen if you would abandon it.

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-11-28 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course not. Unlike most, I've fought Protoss in hand-to-hand before. [She knew where their strengths lay, but then again, she had been backed up by her psychic abilities. Still, she had confidence in her abilities.]

Not all Terran abandon their honour for a win. If you best me, you best me.

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-03 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
[That answer was apparently good enough for Selendis. She shifted her feet, taking on a defensive stance. First strike went to Kerrigan, just like the last time.]

Then we will spar.

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-06 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[She waited for Selendis to appear ready before she shifted her weight forward and charged the taller being. She drove downwards, sweeping a foot out to test how well Selendis was balanced.]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-18 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[With those digitigrade legs, her balance was close to unshakable. Kerrigan would have better luck trying that on another human. Selendis just lifted her foot out of the way, then struck out at Kerrigan with one fist while the woman was still close.]

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-20 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[As soon as the foot was lift, she set her arms and forced her weight upwards, kicking aside the punch and moving to drive a foot into the Protoss' midsection.]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
[That did the trick. Kerrigan's foot found its mark, but unlike hitting a human's vulnerable organs, she hit a brick wall of alien muscle. It didn't hurt so much as it irked Selendis that the woman had already struck her. She brought her arm back just as quickly as it had been knocked aside, making a sweep to toss Kerrigan to the side.]

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-23 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[She had forgotten that the Protoss were basically tall willow sacks of hard muscle. Still, she felt pleased to earn a hit, even if she allowed the strike to toss her. She tucked her arms in tight against her body as she rolled in the air away from Selendis.

Just as quickly, she struck out her limbs, catching herself in a splay and staring at the Protoss warrior as she launched right back in for an attack. This time she feigned a low strike before leaping in an attempt to slam her feet into Selendis' chest.]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-24 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
[Kerrigan wasn't so lucky a second time. Besides that, Selendis had been spending a lot of time training Clare, whose methods involved hammering at Selendis until something broke through. Kerrigan was more experienced and faster, but Selendis caught up very quickly.

She dodged the strike toward her chest, pushing forward against Kerrigan's momentum and throwing her elbow out at her face.]

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-26 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[She expected the dodge, drawing her legs in quickly when it was apparent that the attack was defeated. Her hands slammed against Selendis' swinging bony elbow. Her fingers gripped the strong arm, pushing her body down to pass underneath the elbow.

Her grip remained though, and she twisted her body back around regardless of how much her arms were jarred from their opposite momentum. She released her grip when she was swinging in the same direction as Selendis was face, moving to scramble up the Protoss's back. If only Selendis would cooperate and be defeated...]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[There was no way Selendis was going to cooperate. Especially not with the ghost climbing up her back like she was a little Kwah-Kai. She made no attempt to reach around and grab her, knowing Kerrigan would find a way to avoid her grasp.

Instead Selendis ducked down into a roll, using her hands and elbows to push herself and not completely crush Kerrigan at the same time. She'd shake her off before she even got a good grip on her.]

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Scrambling up a Protoss was more difficult then she last remembered, but then again, she had been busy slicing their nerve cords at the time. That was foul play here, and it was simply sparring not actually for damage. So she scrambled...

and then the world began to twist, and she shoved off hard, flipping in the air to keep an eye on the rolling Protoss. She landed nearby and huffed noisily before circling around to look for new weakness in the stance.]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Selendis felt her push off, glad for it but well aware she'd just have to prepare for something else. The ghost was resourceful, she had to give her that. She was upright and back on her feet in an instant, crouched down and facing off against Kerrigan.

She watched Kerrigan circle for a moment, then darted forward, making a wide swipe with her arm to knock her back.]

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-27 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
[Her green eyes narrowed as Selendis closed in the distance between them. It was something like watching a Goliath rampage across a short distance minus the guns and replacing those with large grasping hands. Kerrigan suddenly remember why she hated fighting the Protoss.

Still, she drove herself to the side at the last minute, rolling across the grass and rising quickly to her feet. How did she kick out the knees on creatures where they face backwards without her psychic powers as a boost?]
Hmpt, how annoying.

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-28 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[She didn't pursue as Kerrigan dove out of the way, instead setting her feet and staying low to the ground. Ready to move, and looking every bit as dangerous as a feral animal. She tilted her head to the side when Kerrigan spoke.]

Your meaning?

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
[She gave Selendis a measured stare for a long moment before she rose from her readied stance. She set her hands on her hips and shook her head, not finding anything wrong with honesty during combat.]

Your knees don't make it easy to drop you like I would a Terran. It's annoying. [She shrugged, meaning no offense.] I haven't had a good fight like this in awhile though. Figures it comes from a Protoss.

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Was that a compliment? Well, when it came to combat, Selendis was all business. While she didn't relax, she did stand up when Kerrigan's own stance became more casual.]

As Templar, I dedicate my life to combat. As for my knees, it is up to you to determine another method of defeating me.

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I've put down enough Templars on Tarsonis. They were Tassadar's warriors, but he didn't seem to hold it against me much. [Her fingers flexed against her hip, and she took in the difference in stance, waiting.

And then she was back on the move, exploding into motion and closing the distance rapidly. She leapt, trying to set a foot to one of Selendis' thighs to launch higher with less effort on her part.]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[There was no reason to reply to that, even if Kerrigan was trying to incite her. She herself had killed a number of terrans, and it wasn't exactly something to be proud about. It was a necessity of war.

Selendis went on the defensive immediately, throwing her arms up in a cross to block the woman from striking her.]

[identity profile] ghostofaqueen.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Forced to redirect her attack because of the quick block, she moved to seize one of Selendis' wrists. However, she quickly realized based on their height difference and Selendis' brute strength that it would be impossible for her to twist it around behind the Protoss' back.

Instead, she abandoned the attack half-way through the attempt, backing off so that she could attack at a different angle.]

[identity profile] justiceisdue.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 04:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[Selendis didn't give her the chance, pushing after Kerrigan while she tried to back off. In most spars, Selendis was content to let her partners take the offensive. With Kerrigan, though, she knew the former ghost could handle whatever she dished out.

She lashed out with her fist again, going down low so there was no chance of losing her balance.]
