[OPEN]
Characters: OPEN
Location: Death City Clinic
Rating: ?
Time: February 5 onward
Description: Event links list.
There's a grim silence in the clinic, broken only by the complaints of some patient that is still there or the adjustments the medical staff makes on the numerous stretches, supplies, and furnishings prepared for today's mission.
A handful of guards are stationed outside, both to function as runners and to keep an eye on the mirror in case something less welcome than their agents coming home appears. Some of them are Australian, the promised agents from the Oceania branch from Deathscythe Mjolnir.

She was considering speaking to Stein or Azusa.

For now, he had one last drink before setting the mug on the table, then leaned back against the pillows with a light groan, eyes closed. He idly rubbed a side.
"This place is so damn confusing..." How did she put up with all this?!

They had cast speculations around time after time, trying to understand exactly what the other world was, but they eventually comprehended it.
"It takes time."

"'s the waiting that gets to me, though. Hate sittin' on my hands."
Kanji rubbed a hand over his face as he yawned. Now that his stomach wasn't doing too many loop-de-loops and his mind wasn't going over when a patrol would arrive to throw another person in the pit, he hadn't realized just how much the ordeal had exhausted him.

Naoto paused as he yawned, figuring that may be her actual signal to leave. Iza looked content, but Naoto would have to take the small kitten home for now. "We'll leave you to get some rest for now and come back tomorrow before they check you out."

He wracked his brain as he tried to come up with something, anything to say that would not sound like he was too desperate for company in this creepy place, but all he got back was how tired he was, noting with mild frustration that the edges of his vision were becoming gray. He had helped fight off that kishin egg, too...
Kanji sighed quietly, and carefully sat up. He gently scooped up the snoozing kitten. Tiny legs and large paws were limp, twitching now and then in dreamtime as he lifted her off of his lap with intent to pass her over.
"She ain't gonna wake up easily. Gettin' her home'll be a cinch."
He hesitated. She'd... she'd do that?
"...Uh, th-that'd be cool!" He'll probably be a little grouchy tomorrow. Kanji wasn't much of a morning person.

Naoto nodded at his words, picking up the carrier. She paused though; the jostling might just wake Iza up on accident. There had to be another way to do this.
"I'll come here after checking up on Iza then."
no subject
"...Think the carrier should stay here. The nurses shouldn't bitch if you're takin' her outta here, right?" If they did, they'd just have to take it up with him.
no subject
Easier to manage and hide if a nurse did try turning a judging eye.

His eyes turned up to that cabbie hat.
"Huh, she's small enough. Your hat could probably cover her 'til the coast is clear."
no subject
She removed it and turned it over. Then, she looked at Iza... and nodded. "That's a possibility."
no subject
"Just an idea. Haven't been able to brush her, and I ain't gonna tell you to cover it in cat fur." He looked down when the back legs began to kick a little bit, and he stroked down the kitten's back. A crazy dream, that was all, don't fuss... and the cat was still once more.
Kanji heard footsteps and looked right. Here comes another of the nurses making her rounds. While usually they would peek in to check and see if everything was all right, they were a little tired of his crap all ready. A spared glance through the window to see if there was a body still in the bed later, she moved on.
He gave a small snort. You and him both, lady.
no subject
"If not my hat, it will cover my coat." She followed Kanji's gaze down to Iza as she twitched and kicked, watching as he made it stop. He had an odd effect over that cat.
Naoto noticed the nurse as well, but didn't make a comment. It would be this way for a while until the number of patients went down.

"...Right. I got a lint roller sittin' on my coffee table if you need it." If you owned a pet, you kind of required one, and that might explain why he never seems to have a single gray hair on his shirt or pants whenever he goes out.
no subject
For now, she should leave. Naoto moved closer to pick Iza up.
no subject
"...Thanks. I-I, uh, feel a little better." She really didn't have to come visit while he looked the way he did now, but... he was glad she insisted.
no subject
"You're welcome, Kanji-kun. Try getting some rest." He would feel better in the morning.
no subject
After? ...A sigh of relief, and a deep, dreamless sleep.
