Description: The doctors and nurses are scrambling throughout the clinic to help with the sudden influx of patients.

The first casualties of the invasion started to limp their way in not long after the zombies and familiars began attacking people in the city. Fortunately there are a few concerned citizens doing their best to protect the clinic from being overrun while those within worked frantically to help anyone who was injured. Despite the desperate situation, the clinic personnel have so far been keeping their calm and working professionally to help any and all injured who come through their doors.

[[Moves closer so she can more easily get one. The buns themselves are still a touch warm, a telling sign of how recently he made them]] Did you need help sitting up?

[she laughs weakly as a thank-you to him moving closer, and waves her hand but finds the action dizzying. ]

O-Of course I can! [laughingly said, as she tries to shift--but pain splits so hot against her side that she pants a little, glancing away, before at him, her smile strained. ]

M-Maybe a little bit...

[[He sets the box down before very gently shifting the bed to be more on an incline. Locating an extra pillow he carefully shifts her a touch forward, resting the pillow to help support her back.

It's pretty clear has has a very good understanding of this sort of thing. With how often he's been in the hospital lately...]]

How's that?

Better..thank you. [she offered an apologetic smile.]
Sorry. I'm usually a lot stronger. [she's clearly not right now. with the pink tinge to her bandages indicating bleed-throughs and the hoarse rasp in her voice. ]

Did you make these yourself?

Usually you haven't been run through! [[smiles. Even if he hadn't seen her bleeding like he had before, he's rather familiar with that tinge of red.]] Don't worry about something like that.

and un, I did. With bottled water, just in case! [[a soft laugh]]

Well it's the first time I've been run through before--[her expression darkens. her own student. it wasn't his fault. that's all forgiven. still--she wants to see him. wants to know he's alright. if he returned to himself. she slowly takes a bite, realizing she hasn't really eaten..only been pumped up with tubes. ]

This is..really good. [she looks a bit annoyed]
Another person who can...cook better than me.

Aaa... [[a moment of hesitation because he hasn't encountered this sort of thing before]] Cooking's just something that I guess you could say I specialize in. Especially anpan! I think I've made easily 500 of them just in the last month alone! [[rubs the back of his neck slightly.]]

..Well they're really good. Hit the spot, even! Better than this weird hospital food, ne? [she smiles as she inwardly thinks: I still have a ways to go..

Then this reminds her..didn't she promise she'd make Kenshin dinner the day this whole mess started? That's right. She pauses in lifting the anpan to her mouth as a distant look flickers across her face.]

..This event--took us offtrack a lot, didn't it?

[[nods with a smile]] All Western food here, huh? [[Then it was a very good move to bring the anpan!

He looks down with a faint smile]]

Un... it really did. But... but I think we can make up for it. That it won't keep us off track for much longer. Once we set everything right again.. it'll all be fine, right?

[Kaoru chews quietly, listening to his words. A part of her--maybe a part before traveling to Kyoto, would have broken down now. Would have started crying at his kind words. But Kaoru chose not to 'whine anymore' that day on the ship with Yahiko on their way to seeing Kenshin again. It seemed like years ago.

Was she really still seventeen years old?

Will we really be alright? All of us seperated..--
Takuto. Chrono..the monsters--the madness in the eyes of everyone..everyone strangers. Would it really be fine?

She hadn't realized she had lowered her head, her lips ghosting over the anpan as she smiled a ghost of a smile. ]

...Yeah. We'll..we'll all be fine. So don't worry, okay? [she offers a big smile]
I know I'll be fine! I'm eating delicious food!

[[Bakura smiles kindly. He knows it's never that simple. But he always puts on his best face and pretends it will be.]]

Don't you worry either.

How long do you think they'll keep you for? If you'd like, I can bring you something while you're recovering. It should help you heal faster, right?

Alright. But we're friends now, so I might worry sometimes. [she shoots him a tired smile. at his words her expression sobers into quiet frustration, but she's so weak it's not as fierce as she'd usually have it]

Ah..I'm not sure. The way I was brought in here--I don't think I'm going to be able to move around much for a while. [Kaoru you can't fall asleep here that you must not! Just a little longer and you can rest! Kenshin's frantic voice. Her blood all over his gi. Zombie's twisting fingers into the hollow of her throat, spreading purpling bruises. Chrono's blade ripping through her torso..Kaoru's stubborness opening it to her ribs. ]

I'll..try to figure something out. Or I'll just get too restless! But I won't deny help. I'd really appreciate it, but you've already done so much..

[[a warm smile]] Don't worry about something like that. Especially if it's just cooking! That sort of thing.. I guess you could call it my way to not be so restless.. [[says with a soft laugh]]

[she can't help but smile, and it looks even fond]
You sound just like Kenshin. Cooking..he's a lot better than me at it.

People are better at somethings that others. [[smiles kindly, getting the feeling that the not being good at cooking is a bit of a sore spot for her, especially considering the time period she's from]] I'm sure there are things you do better than others. Especially better than someone like me! [[a small, self deprecating laugh]]

..I've only ever really been good at kendo, you know? But I always try. At whatever I do. I guess that's what I did before.

Heeeeeeh, you're good at something like that? That's pretty impressive! [[Especially for a girl! But he'd learned with Anzu, adding that line got you a death glare... ]] I'm really no good at anything like that. Not even at just running. [[admits sheepishly]]

Hey don't be like that! With a bit of training I'm sure you could do it too! [she blinks, before her battered face lights up]
Hey! I know! You should let me teach you!

Eh? You wouldn't mind doing something like that...? Even for someone who's really not good at it?

No one starts out perfect, you know. I can make a swordsman out of you yet.

If you're sure... [[smiles warmly]] I'd be honored if you would.

Once I get out of here I'll put you to work. [she cracks a faint smile]

[[nods]] I'll be looking forward to it!
