Description: The doctors and nurses are scrambling throughout the clinic to help with the sudden influx of patients.

The first casualties of the invasion started to limp their way in not long after the zombies and familiars began attacking people in the city. Fortunately there are a few concerned citizens doing their best to protect the clinic from being overrun while those within worked frantically to help anyone who was injured. Despite the desperate situation, the clinic personnel have so far been keeping their calm and working professionally to help any and all injured who come through their doors.

[Rei waves her hand, as if to wave away Kaoru's worries] I'm fine. This is nothing. [of course she'd say that even if she were completely bleeding out, so.]

Don't panic, Kenshin's here, he's fine. He's sleeping right now, they've just got him in another room. Once he wakes up I'm sure they'll let you see him.

Do you need anything right now?

[Kaoru does the same thing. So it's ironic to watch that, because that's what she herself almost did. Bleed out. Her eyes flicker then. ]

Mmm...they better--I'll have to go myself one way or..another. [at her words, Kaoru simply smiles. ]
No..just--can we get you more comfortable?

[She blinks, surprised by the request before her expression turns amused]

Are you able to move? Can you scoot over?

O-On the bed? [Kaoru stares dazedly at her, before she offers a strained smile. ]

Gi..give me a minute..[her body moves a little, and as it does the open slit of her gown shows the white, pinkened bandages cover her torso and ribs. she moves a little pushing her arms up, it takes all she has before she falls back onto the bed, patting the side]

T..there. [she sucks in a breath.]
I think I'm getting too used..to this place.

[Rei kicks off her shoes and climbs onto the bed, slipping under the covers] Sorry, I hope that didn't hurt you too much... You can relax now.

[But she settles in at Kaoru's side with a warm smile] See? Now I'm comfortable.

Too used to it? What do you mean? [Rei rests on her side, looking at Kaoru carefully just in case she has to suddenly call for a nurse, hoping the exertion of moving hadn't done any damage]

Yeah..it's alright now..[Kaoru nods sleepily to that, before she stares at the cieiling. The beeping of monitors.]

Hospitals..people that are precious to me being in them. [a helpless smile tugs at her lips]
I just--..I was so frantic--I was..so afraid, deep down. [she brings a hand over her eyes. ]
I can't let myself..become used to war. For Kenshin's sake...

[She doesn't know what to say at first, thinking through it carefully]

I don't think you have to worry about that. As long as you're still yourself in the end, it should be alright.

Just take it day by day, and don't lose sight of yourself. [Rei reaches up to move some of Kaoru's hair out of her face and smiles] At least, that's what I think.

[Kaoru offers a glance, her hand clasping hers, faint smile on her face. Her head starts to sag a little into Rei's shoulder as she sighs.]

Mmm..I'll--keep getting stronger. To support all of you..

[An arm slides around Kaoru's shoulders, supporting the younger woman]

And let others support you sometimes too.

You should sleep a little longer now, though.

[Kaoru smiles against Rei's shoulder, feeling a tear slip past her cheek as her bandaged hand goes to wipe it. ]
I-I know..I'm grateful. [she looks at her hopefully]
Once..I go back to sleep--[her words are starting to slur, the IV is pumping some more painkillers into her bloodstream]

You'll..go get some help for you, ..okay?
