Sougo, unfortunately, already had her at the phrase “I wanted to see you.” From that point on, it felt like she was watching a silent film, where nothing really substantial seemed to filter through her ears anymore. But, she did her best to stay as focused on his words, even reading lips in the process.
Except, the only names she could make out were “Hijikata” and “Katsura,” to which she naturally cringed in response (she had an idea of what he was saying now, at least). Oh, Sougo...
“I’m glad that you came, though.” Because even if she didn’t know what to say, she wanted to at least offer some sort of spiritual backing. “Though, I doubt you’ll be very careful, I trust you to-“
And her words were abruptly cut off at the sentence - “I won our little bet.” She put her cup down, placing her head into her hands. There were so many things she wanted to say in return, but it all fell out of place and so she fell back on denying it in her head a million times over.
