Aurora was pretty excited to go out and try new things with a friend. Which of course was not quite a date, because dates were for people you loved, apparently. She still thought that Takuto seemed like a very nice boy, though. Once she looked presentable, she left her apartment around noon and made her way to the coffee shop. Luckily she didn't have to look around much since he greeted her right away.

Smiling somewhat shyly — since it was still kind of overwhelming to meet strangers, she dipped down in a little greeting curtsy and waved her hand. "Oh, hello! I hope you weren't waiting for very long."

He shook his head. "Nope." He grinned and opened the door for her, gesturing for her to head on into the coffeeshop.

"So it's your first time having coffee, right?" he asked, walking up beside her. "Let's see... do you like hot chocolate?" He figured he should probably help her figure out what she wanted to order, and how to order it properly. He smiled a little to himself, figuring that she'd probably want something a little sweeter. She seemed like that kind of girl.

"Oh good." She smiled a little brighter and then nodded her head in thanks as she went into the coffee shop. She had passed by it before on one of her trips around town, but never gone in (she didn't know what "Deathbucks" meant...). It looked quaint and quite interesting. And it smelled interesting too!

"I like chocolate, but I didn't know you could drink it as well." She tilted her head a little and then glanced up at the menu. Yes, it was all quite foreign to her. Except for maybe the tea.

"Yeah! You totally can!" He pointed to each area on the menu when he mentioned it. "So you can get hot chocolate, or coffee, or tea... and there are variations to it, too, like different flavors you can put in it. See?" He wasn't super knowledgeable about the art of coffee-making, but he'd at least had some before. "You can make your own thing up, really."

He sent her a sidelong grin. "I can help you pick something if you like. You wanna know what I'm getting?"

Aurora's eyes followed everywhere Takuto pointed on the menu and she nodded with enthusiasm. "Goodness! There's so many choices." She was so used to everything being very simple at home. That, or having it chosen for her, of course. But she didn't mind, really. Right now it might even be the best thing. She didn't even know where to start except that she wanted to try something other than tea today.

"Oh yes. I would appreciate the help." She smiled at him and then glanced back to the menu. "What do you like?"

"A vanilla latte," he replied. "It's not as bitter as a normal coffee, but it's not too sweet, either." He was trying his hardest not to develop a full-blown crush on the princess, but her mixture of delight and surprise at just the menu was adorable. She really was different from any girl he'd ever met before.

He fixed her with a appraising stare. "If you want something sweet, I'd suggest a white chocolate mocha. If you ask for caramel in it, it's almost like a dessert. Otherwise... if you like nutty flavors, a hazlenut mocha is pretty good."

She listened attentively, giving a little nod to him. Vanilla also sounded good to her. But at his suggestion her face lit up a little. She had no idea what a mocha was but it sounded quite good. "They both sound quite nice..." She admitted, looking over the menu one more time even though all those foreign words and ingredients didn't help much.

But then she thought that, since she was here and with a friend and so far from home, that she might as well take a very big chance and try something completely and entirely new. "I'll go with the first choice."

"With the caramel?" he asked, moving up towards the counter to order. He was confident she'd like the white chocolate mocha either way--such a sweet girl could only like a sweet drink, right?

"Yes!" She nodded, following alongside him. She assumed since he was the gentleman and all that he was going to order for her, but she wanted to see how it was all done regardless. You actually went to shops to have people make food for you, how strange!

"Thank you." She put a hand against Takuto's arm gently, wanting to show her gratitude, lest she forget. She likely wouldn't, of course, but she was very glad to be there today even if they'd only just started.

His face reddened with the touch of her arm. He did his best to play it cool and act natural, though he did feel a little warmer as he stepped up towards the counter.

"A tall vanilla latte for me," he said. He turned to look at Aurora as he continued, his cheeks tinged pink. "And a tall white chocolate mocha with caramel for her."

She doesn't seem to notice his reaction. Or at least, she doesn't really know what it means. Perhaps he's too warm? She was practically melting when she arrived in the city, though at least she found some lighter dresses.

Turning her head back toward the counter and lowering her hand, she watched Takuto give the orders and nodded her head when he told the cashier her order as well. "Yes, thank you!" She told the person behind the counter too. "Oh, I can't wait to try it."

Takuto paid for both their drinks, and then waited towards the end of the counter. They could hear the whirring of machines as their drinks were made. "So how long have you been here?" He paused a moment, and then added quickly, "Um, do I call you Aurora? Or Princess?"

Aurora followed, but she was mostly trying to see over the counter to see what all those noises were. Machines were still pretty foreign to her. She didn't even know how to work the microwave yet. "It feels like I've been here for forever," She answered then, turning back to Takuto with a slightly uncertain smile. She couldn't hide the fact that she was quite homesick. "October, I suppose?"

Then she smiled a bit more genuinely. "Oh, please call me Aurora."

He nodded, smiling because he was allowed to call her by her name. (Also because a smile was pretty much his natural expression.)

"Two months, huh?" He tried to imagine what January was going to feel like for him. Probably cold. He shook his head and sent the girl a slightly mischievous look. "You've been here two months, Aurora, and no one's taken you out for coffee yet?" he teased.

Truthfully, she would feel odd if people constantly addressed her as Princess, especially if they were friends. She wasn't entirely used to it yet. For the longest time she'd just been Rose.

She looked a little bashfully at him, ducking her head down some. "Well, no. But I have done other exciting things. ... When it wasn't too scary to go outside, of course." With the attacks and everything, she had spent quite a lot of time in her room, much to her disappointment. Better safe than sorry, though.

He nodded slowly. "So you stayed indoors when there was that attack, huh," he repeated. Of course, he hadn't been around for any attacks, being rather new, so he didn't know how scary they were. He gave her a somewhat appraising look.

Sure, she was a princess so she must have had a very careful upbringing, which would explain why she was so unused to normal enough things. But... he felt she had a bright curiosity along with a strong spirit--and not the kind of person who enjoyed staring out the window. "Have you ever been to training?"

"Yes, I wouldn't dare go outside. And it's awful to be so alone during something like that." She frowned at the memory, but tried not to think of it too much and smiled again.

"I've been to the training a couple of times. That's how I learned how to change into a weapon. Although I'm not really a weapon, I suppose. I'm a crown..." She tilted her head and then gave a shrug. They had yet to figure out what her purpose was exactly, but she wasn't in much of a hurry. "I just dearly want to return home."

He raised an eyebrow. "A crown?" The next moment, the barista called out his drink, but he nodded to Aurora as he took the drink from the counter. "I've heard that some people have pretty interesting weapon forms," he said, and then nodded to himself as if deciding something. His smile seemed to say he believed in her.

"But you're here right now, aren't you? And we are all here for a reason. I think we all need to figure out what it is we have to do, and then do it." He glanced up, his eyes almost instinctively seeking out the sky, but then he dropped his gaze back to the princess.

"I'm here to save the world," he said seriously. A moment later he shrugged helplessly. "So I've got to train a lot, and try to figure out how I can do that. But I could also be here to help you figure out what it is that you can do."

A second later the barista set a drink on the counter with the words "tall white chocolate mocha with caramel!"

She nodded. "Yes, like the one I..." She sort of reached up to her head, but she hasn't actually worn the crown since she first arrived. It's back at home. "Well, I'm not sure why I was chosen to be that but I'm certain it has some purpose."

She listened to Takuto speak and gave a quiet smile. "I suppose that is true. Everyone here's been so nice and helpful and kind." But she still couldn't help that she missed Phillip and the three fairies and of course her parents whom she hadn't even really met yet. She was looking forward to that.

"Of course you're very helpful and kind too. I'm sure you must also be quite brave." If he was going to save the world, which she took just as seriously. But she heard the name of her drink called and turned back toward the counter so she could pick it up. "Thank you," she said again to the person behind the counter and turned back to Takuto smiling. "Let's sit down, then. Unless you prefer to walk?"

He shook his head. "Sitting is fine," he said, looking around the place and spotting two open stools by the window, and raised an eyebrow at Aurora, silently asking her whether she wanted to sit there.

"I dunno if I'm really brave or anything, though," he said aloud, trying to humbly deflect her compliment. "I just do what I ought to do." It helped that it was something he also wanted to do.

He frowned. "If you're a crown... well, maybe we can think of a reason why?"

At his gesture, she nodded her head and sat herself down on the stool, carefully holding her drink in both hands until she set it down on the table.

"But sometimes doing what you have to do isn't easy. That's why I think you're very brave." She gave a little smile and nodded her head. She for one didn't think she was very brave at all.

"I would really like to know." She answered then, still frowning lightly over the matter. "I've never fought or anything like that at all!" So she honestly couldn't think of what she would be used for. At the same time, she didn't want to be something like a sword because it seemed so gruesome and painful. It would make her feel so uncomfortable.

It was true that some things were difficult to do. But... he had the feeling they were talking about different kinds of difficulty. The things that he had to do... well, they were things he couldn't have not done. So he felt it wasn't a matter of bravery, but more of knowing he was the only person in a position to do something. It wasn't something he could explain easily, so he let the matter drop.

He mulled over the Aurora's later words for a moment, and then looked at her curiously. "Have you ever put yourself on someone's head?" he asked. It seemed like a natural thing for a crown to do, but... much less so for a girl. But if she had some kind of magical powers, then it seemed likely that being on a head would bring them out.

Takuto should really just accept it when a princess is calling him brave! But she probably wouldn't have understood it even if he did have a way to explain what he meant. She was the damsel in distress and had yet to be anything more.

She put her hands against her drink again, as if to see if it was still quite too hot to take a sip of. And she gave a little nod. "I've attempted to resonate..." She paused a little at the word, speaking it slowly, since she was still not quite sure she understood it all, "with a few people. But only one has worn me before." It felt silly to say that. But it was also quite unfortunate that that one person was no longer in the city. "Do you think there's some sort of magic involved?" Because that's exactly what she had been thinking.

"It seems like there would be, right?" he said with a nod. "I mean, turning into a crown is pretty magical in itself, don't you think?" He wondered who it was she had resonated with, and then had a brilliant idea.

"Aurora, I'm a meister. You wouldn't mind, well... resonating with me some time, would you?" Takuto's specialty was definitely swords and not crowns, but still... he felt a desire to help the princess out. She had a kind of innocence he liked to be around, and wanted to see her step forward on the right path. "We could try to figure out what special powers you have as a weapon!"

"Yes, you're right." She gave a mildly sheepish nod and then lifted her shoulders some in a sigh. "I didn't even want my crown ... at first. And now look at me." She is her crown. Strange how those things work out. But being a princess turned out not to be so bad in the end at least.

At his suggestion, she blinked and then broke into a bashful smile. "Oh, please. I need any help that I can get. Would you?" He seemed very nice and sincere to her (not that she was good at or had any experience judging character!). Perhaps he could be the one to help her figure it out after all.
