[COMPLETE] When my time comes, forget the wrong that I've done
Characters: The
getyourgunson and the
powerofbondage
Location: Death Robbins
Rating: PG
Time: November 6th, around 2PMbecause that’s totally the best time for ice-cream
Description: One of the greatest alliances in history shall be forged over ice-cream and hair ruffles.
[After having set a time and place for their, uh, meeting to take place, Date decides that he should turn up early there anyway since he’s no longer restricted by any shifts, what with being a Zone Leader now and all that jazz. He’s only just started (like, literally), but the work’s nothing new to him - compared to having to lead Oshu, being a Zone Leader was more like a walk in the park. Of course, he still knows better than to take it lightly - but at least he can relax in a couple of ways while still working.]
[Anyway all of that aside, here he is wandering around the entrance of Death Robbins, pacing around as he awaits for Ieyasu’s arrival. Truth be told the other’s disappearance and subsequent reappearance did make him worry a little - it seemed like the thing that had just happened to him, albeit in a different manner - and more than what he intended to do during their meeting he did also want to make sure that Ieyasu’s fine. After what the other had done for him back when he had needed that help, Date intended to return the favor in anyway that he could manage. Besides, it would be good for them both in the long run anyway.]
[That and the fact that the things they’ve talked over the network earlier did quite catch his attention, and Date would want to know more if he is able to.]

[That and the fact that the things they’ve talked over the network earlier did quite catch his attention, and Date would want to know more if he is able to.]

[But yeah, at least Ieyasu’s here now; he can think about that later once he did what he wanted to do. Date shakes his head once the other is close enough, breaking into a small grin afterwards.] Nah, not too long. [Makes a gesture towards the doors of Death Robbins then.] Come on in.
no subject
[So yes, letting Ieyasu into the establishment now, Date following behind as he closes the door. Despite the loss of their owner a while back it seems that the place is still doing quite fine, as there is still quite a bit of a crowd in spite of the time of the day. Date takes a moment to glance around the place before spotting a nice table at the side, and he makes a gesture at Ieyasu before leading them both to said seats and settling down quite nicely. Once he’s settled, Date will help himself to the menu, peering at the usual exotic choice of flavors and ways of which to eat ice-cream.]
Seems like nothing has really changed... [More to himself than Ieyasu here, but Date soon looks up at the other and makes a vague hand gesture.] Feel free to choose whatever you want; its my treat.
no subject
[Date peers at his menu once more, debating if he should go for chocolate or strawberry - both were his more favoured flavours, and it had been a while since he had taken either... then again, he ate strawberry with Dante often enough. Chocolate it would be then. He just makes that decision when Ieyasu speaks up once more, and the head of Oshu peers up from his menu to blink once at the other at his words.]
Hm? Oh, the original owner of this place was killed by the Witches a while back, and I hadn’t really been here since then. I just thought that something might have changed due to it, but apparently not. [Small talk, and things that Date quickly glosses over in favor of putting his menu down now that he had made his selection and looks at Ieyasu with a quizzical look.] You made a choice already? I’m going to order if you are.
no subject
So, what happened? [Being general for now at least, so that he can attempt to gauge about what’s affecting Ieyasu. Specific questions can come later.]
no subject
[But still, he couldn’t help but blink at one part which Ieyasu had spoken. He... he had joined with Ieyasu? He had heard it earlier already, but it still sounded a bit quite unlike him - but then again, perhaps not so, especially considering what he had in mind himself. Funny how some things seemed to work out just like that - and not so funny, especially when he hears the next bit to which he takes in with another frown. Still... while he joined Ieyasu, Sanada Yukimura and Motochika had... but why would they do something like that? Both of them hardly seemed like the kind of people who would ally with somebody with the likes of Ishida Mitsunari... clearly there had to be some sort of reason behind their actions.]
[Looking at Ieyasu properly again, Date is silent for a moment before he asks.] Do you know the reason why they did so? [He has a feeling that Ieyasu doesn’t know - or else he would have said something - but still. It doesn’t hurt to ask... he supposes.]
no subject
[...but in the end, these are still nothing but thoughts, and thoughts that Date decides he will get to later. For now there are other things at hand which he would rather attend to. The older samurai breathes out loudly through his nose as he glances away, frowning still as he debates on these words for a moment before replying.] Well, there’s no use wondering since you’re back here again. And besides, Motochika and Sanada Yukimura here aren’t from the same version of your Hi-No-Moto anyway. Something might change because of this.
[Hopefully, at least. Date really doesn’t want to think of the alternative at the moment.]
no subject
There’s not much we can do about him for the moment, since he hasn’t really done anything. [But still, if he ever shows a sign of hostility Date will be sure to act on the double - there’s a certain responsibility he has now, being one of the Zone Leaders of the Watch and being the first from Hi-No-Moto brought over by BREW. At the very least, he feels a need to ensure that Ishida doesn’t cause any harm to the civilians because of their own war.] Of course, I’ll keep an eye out on him - I don’t like him, but I’m not going to do anything or interfere with him unless he gives me reason to.
[Date’s not unreasonable, hot-headed tendencies aside. And he does have certain responsibilities to answer to now, with his new position.]
no subject
[There is a pause after those words as Date contemplates on what he’s just said. More and more now, he knows that he’s getting attached to Death City in ways he perhaps shouldn’t; but its a fact that he won’t be returning to Hi-No-Moto and Oshu until BREW sees fit, and he’s made more and more... comrades here already. And then there’s the Watch now, and his new position as Zone Leader... more and more, the he can feel the responsibility that weighs on his shoulders yet again. But still, he cannot falter - he’s already faltered enough.]
[...idle thoughts again, nevertheless. Date puts them aside quickly so that he can return to his conversation with Ieyasu at hand.] It’s not that I don’t trust you in handling the issue, but there’s no telling what might happen while we’re here. Its better to play safe as much as its possible to.
no subject
[Still, he can’t exactly say no to Ieyasu when the other puts it out like that. Date really has no idea what Ieyasu is thinking to say something like that, but he supposes he can do little else but trust in the other’s judgement - after all, this is the guy who would eventually unify Hi-No-Moto and usher in what would be present Japan now. As the head of Oshu, he could do nothing more but to put faith in what Ieyasu wants to do.]
…alright, I suppose anything else I say won’t convince you otherwise anyway. [He’s reluctant, but there’s really nothing else he can do if Ieyasu so insists.] But the moment Triangle steps out of line, I’m going to have to step in. I hope you understand that.

You can move to a new thread in your next tag, Jas. \o/

That hit the spot. [Yeah, it really did enjoy the ice-cream it seems, and it shows. Helping himself to a glass of water now.] Oh yeah - while we’re at it, it would be good for you to join the Watch. You can earn good money there for your stuff. [Plus its a good job anyway, so why not. And he’s Zone Leader too now, which makes things even better.]
no subject
[There’s a brief pause here, and Date speaks up again - this time attempting to explain things better so that Ieyasu’s more accepting.] It’s basically a force to ensure that the people of Death City don’t come to any harm in the case of an attack... but we also ensure that there’s peace in the city as well, and that nobody tries to start anything. Dante and I were just promoted to Zone Leaders too, so we can help you as well if you need anything.
[And then Dante can actually do something for once instead of slacking... really, he needed to show something to Mustang at least.]
no subject
[Anyway, to the question at hand. Date takes a moment to down his glass of water first before replying.] Find Roy Mustang at his inbox - he posts a lot, so you should be able to locate him easily. From there its just a matter of applying and you should be good to go. [Not too hard at all, and Date is glad that Ieyasu is receptive to the idea. That makes things a lot easier for him as well.]
no subject
[He knows that Mustang is always more than happy to have new members signing up for the Watch (it was still seriously understaffed), and by all means and accounts Ieyasu is somebody who is dependable and trustworthy - or at least he is, to Date’s eye. Which pretty much said everything that he needed anyway - he’s never really been one to care about the concerns of others so much in the first place (unless they were Koujurou’s, but that was another matter.)]
no subject
I suppose it doesn’t hurt to explain the Watch to you. [A brief pause as Date mentally runs through the stuff in his head and picks on what to explain - the basics would do; he’s sure that Ieyasu can pick up the rest later once he starts working.] It runs on a patrol shift on three timings, each of them spanning six hours long. The first starts at noon and the last starts at midnight; there’s a blackout period from six in the morning to noon, mainly because most of the people are awake then.
[He pauses after this, letting Ieyasu digest this information; he’ll continue once the other has it in his head.]
no subject
[He doesn’t mind the questions of course, and is more than happy to answer whatever Ieyasu has in mind - it’ll let him answer the things that the younger samurai has on mind, anyway.] As to how the patrols work, usually one shift will at least compromise of one partnered pair, or an unpartnered Weapon and Meister pair so that every individual will be able to defend themselves in case of an attack. Sometimes though, it’ll be two Weapons instead if there’s not enough Meisters to go around. Since you’re a Meister, you’ll most likely have to work with another Weapon if there’s one free. [Then again, the Watch is kind of understaffed still so who knows what might happen...]
[Anyway, back to the explanations.] Every person who joins the Watch will also be allowed to carry weapons on them, so you can ask Mustang about that when you apply. He should be able to equip you with something that you can work with.
no subject
[Anyway.]
[Date pauses as he ponders over Ieyasu’s last question, trying to recall something for a moment.] I think there’s somebody who uses fists to fight as well, and he has a weapon for that. I think getting a weapon for you shouldn’t be a problem - of course, you should ask to make sure. [The older samurai himself isn’t that all certain; asking the head honcho himself is a much better option, considering everything.] If there isn’t, I’m sure he’ll be able to work out something for you that you’ll find acceptable.
no subject
[...yeah, he’s not going to start on the things he’s seen around here.]
You might need to work with something you’ve never even seen before. [For Date himself, that was with the giant demonic claymore known better as Rebellion.]
no subject
One of the Shibusen students here turn into a variety of forms as well. [Another pause, and the older samurai eventually shrugs.] There’s a whole lot more as well, but its hard to really explain it unless you see it for yourself. [That’s really the best way to put things into perspective, really.]

ONE MORE THREAD JAS
no subject
[It may be harsh and somewhat cruel, but that’s possibly the only way that things will work. More than just themselves, the safety of the other guests and the residents of this place was also going to be affected with the decisions they made in here. Date can’t just leave something as big as this hanging for far too long.]
no subject
[...well, no point thinking about this (again). Date just breathes out loudly through his nose, taking another drink of his water.] Again, nothing to do but to wait and see what happens. [He really doesn’t like having to do this, but at this point there’s really not much else he can do, considering everything. Even so, this whole waiting business really grates at his nerves.]
no subject
[Again, something to debate about another time. Date shakes his head at the question, pretty sure that he’s said all that’s needed to be said.] I don’t think there’s anything more, no.
no subject
[Then he pauses for a moment, thinking on what to say next.]
And if you need anything, feel free to ask me as well. Since we’re now allies and all that. [And now that they’re allies, he’ll try and help Ieyasu as much as he can.]
no subject
[If he wasn’t sure, then he wouldn’t have even made this alliance in the first place after all. More than what he believes in Ieyasu, he has his own reasons for making this alliance. Date’s certain that in time, this alliance will be sure to benefit him well in some shape or form - and he’s looking forward to it.]

no subject
But for now though, he’d take what he could in the present. Grinning now, Date turns around to call for the bill, paying for the meal before he makes his own way out too and heading back to work. It’ll be a surprise for him later to see Ieyasu in the evening, but for now he’s pleased with the things that had happened and more than glad to leave things as they are now. And he knows that in the near future, they’ll just get better.]
