Description: After much asking and pestering, Koujurou finally agrees to go on a mission with Date. Unfortunately, things aren't going to be that simple.
To be honest, where Date had really wanted to go was not here, but he really didn't have much of a choice since this was the only mission available which was bound for modern Japan. He supposed he could only make do with it since there wasn't any other real alternative - in a way, he was still going to be able to see how Japan was like, and that was more than enough for him for now. He could go to where he wanted to go next time since he was sure there would be a lot more other chances for him.
It had been a while since he did this whole 'going to another place in an instant' thing via the Shinigami's mirror, but the feeling was one which Date could shake off easily once he was through it and out into the notably colder winds of Hokkaido (or well, what he knew was called Hokkaido in this world - it seemed like with Hi-No-Moto itself, Ezogashima seemed to have changed names as well). He wasn't in his usual armor for once, but at least the threads he was wearing was doing a rather good job of being able to keep him warm. Date didn't feel too bothered by the autumn chill as he glanced behind him to make sure that Koujurou was with him through the mirror as well.
"You okay, Koujurou?" he asked once he caught sight of the elder man - now that they were finally on a mission, Date sure wasn't going to let anything compromise it. Enough time had been wasted as it was already with everything that had happened.

He turned back once he was done, and immediately set to work upon seeing that Masamune was ready.
...Odd. There should have been a bruise, at least...

He gave Koujurou a minute or two as the elder man did his examination of his body, speaking up once the silence dragged on a bit too long for his tastes. "So? Is there anything?"
no subject
Koujurou lifted an eyebrow as he glanced at Masamune.
"The creature certainly hit you head on, though. For there to be no mark..."
Well, it was close to the realm of 'impossible', to say the least.

The warlord started to brush his hair back out of habit again as he tried to think on this particular mystery, but then paused as he caught sight of the state of his hand and brought it further from his vision so he could look at it properly. The scars that he had obtained back during his duel were notably more faded now... a lot more than it should, considering everything.
"Koujurou," he went, holding out his hand to show what he had just discovered as well.

"You healed a bit."
Was it because of him? He had not thought that he would possess such an ability as a Weapon. The only thing that had come out during his first fight with Motochika was the electricity.

Dropping his hands, the warlord frowned as he thought about this. Considering everything, the only thing he could think of would be some ability of Koujurou's - Date knew for a fact that Dan--the previous Weapons he had used all lacked that sort of regeneration capability, and he himself didn't have that power too.
Glancing over at the elder man, Date gave him a curious look for a moment before speaking. "BREW sure knows how to give you the best, huh?" Certainly, this healing ability would come in handy in the future when they were fighting again. Date knew he wouldn't mind at all, as unexpected as it was - rather, he would say that it was a pleasant surprise.

Koujurou was standing now, heading towards the kishin soul in the corner. He took it without hesitation, gazing at it for a moment before simply putting the entire thing in his mouth.
A moment later, he decided that indeed: eating a soul was always going to feel strange and right and vaguely creepy.

"How do those things taste, anyway?" he asked out of curiosity once Koujurou was done - Date had always wondered about it, though he hadn't really asked until now.

He was surveying the area once again, looking for something he could use to create a fire. They were both soaked - the last thing they needed was to spend a cold night in some godforsaken cavern.

Hardly a place I'd call home, the younger man thought to himself before he suddenly sneezed without warning, feeling a shiver running down his spine. Ungh, this was the last thing he needed.

"Masamune-sama. Stay where you are."
Without further ado, the Weapon shifted his arm into part of his blade yet again and went to investigate.
no subject
Looking back at his retainer as he prepared to investigate, Date started to put his armor back while he called out after the other. "Make sure to call me if you need me there." He trusted that Koujurou would be able to handle whatever that came for him of course, but still... better to be safe than to be sorry in a situation like this.

There was also a series of thuds later, the sound of something breaking: Koujurou was tossing out the human skeletons he found inside. There were a number of them... the kappa's victims, perhaps? They definitely wouldn't know now, with it as dead as the corpses Koujurou was shifting through.
Some fifteen minutes later:
"It is safe to come in now."
The Weapon only poked his head through the door frame long enough to inform Masamune of that fact before going right back inside.

Taking a moment to pick up the things the other had left with him, Date gathered them into his arms and made his way to the house without wasting another second. He was as curious as hell as how something like this managed to get in here, but he guessed he could wonder about that later. For now, it was time to get inside.

"Please see to it that the fire does not go out, my lord."
Everything in the house was ruined - that wasn't surprising. They were lucky, though, to even have a house to stay warm in, perhaps.

That having been said, Date settled himself onto a spot on the floor near the fireplace, glancing around where he was for something he could use to fan the flames and prevent it from going out. Now what the heck could he even use around here...
