{open; don't leave me here to pass through time}
Characters: Kadaj (
vengefulremnant) and open!
Location: In the streets, heading towards the carnival, though still a good distance from it.
Rating: PG - this may change, depending on who he meets.
Time: August 17th
Description: Not about to let Sephiroth and Cloud to lead him around by the hand, Kadaj is out in the city, intent on getting a communicator.
Kadaj wasn't one to stay in one place for very long. not when the majority of his short life had been taken up in the search for JENOVA, constantly on the move in the hopes that he and his brothers would find some clue that would lead them to her. Now, despite knowing that his 'Mother' wasn't in his city, he didn't find reason to idle. He'd spent the last few days familiarizing himself with the cityscape, isolating the most vulnerable areas, and the most important buildings where he'd likely find what he was looking for.
This supposed 'BREW'- the device that Sephiroth claimed had brought all of them here- was a powerful machine. And it made sense that something of that nature would be with the most powerful person. This rumored Death God that lived within the walls of the school in the center of town… Kadaj had no doubts that he was the one to go to for answers.
But before he could do anything of that nature, the remnant wanted to make sure of that he wasn't accomplishing this alone without reason. The communicator Sephiroth and Cloud both possessed, and inconveniently, kept on their person most of the time, seemed the ideal way go about checking if his brothers had arrived here as well.
This was why Kadaj was walking towards the source of all the ruckus in the city for the past few days. There were bound to be people there, ones with the same communicator his brothers had possessed- communicators that he wouldn't mind taking by coercion or force if it came to that.

It's only easy to assume that he's easy pickings.

Eyeing the stranger with the limp and the apparent injuries, Kadaj passed by several other individuals coming from the carnival, one hand drumming his fingers impatiently on his makeshift weapon. The katana was as close of a match to his Souba as he could find, and until he could fashion a weapon with two blades, he was content to settle for it.
His hand resting on the hilt of his blade, Kadaj didn't draw it as he fell into step beside the limping boy, doubting he would need it.
"Going somewhere?"
no subject
Feeling a smile touch his face, Kaworu glanced to the side at his companion. A guest by the style of his clothing and appearance, a fighter by the way he walked and the sword he carried and… interesting. Human, or beast?
"Yes, actually. Are you going to the carnival as well, journeyman?"
no subject
"Journeyman?" He asked, amused as he gave the other boy a casual onceover, looking for any weapons nor any particular signs that he knew how to fight. "You could say that. I'm more interested in something else though."
no subject
Ordinary human senses were lacking in comparison to what he had before but in the same way, he couldn't help but admire them for having them in the first place.
"Yes, like the traveler searching for a new land, or perhaps on a visit to a place he decides on," he elaborated with a gesture of his good arm. It was only too easy to assume that Kaworu was untrained and careless by the way he acted. "What might that be?"
no subject
For all he knew, this boy might have been an able fighter back where he came from, though none of that mattered here and now.
He snorted at his description, not at all endeared by the assumption. "I want nothing more but to return to Mother." Glancing over him for some sign of that communicator, he shrugged, the motion deliberately casual. "Some way of contacting my brothers. Nothing you can provide me with I'm sure."
no subject
"Oh! Siblings," he could imagine wanting to contact his siblings, though. But almost distantly. He was sure his siblings weren't interested in talking to him. "Do you not have a communicator?"
no subject
"Is that what it's called?" he asked, his lips turning up in interest as he peered at him. Contacting his siblings was very much necessary. Mother needed them almost as much as she did him, to fulfill her plans. "You have one then."
no subject
Mostly amazing because somehow, they were able to either steer themselves into walls or avoid them despite it.
"Spirit-sensei distributed them to everyone who stayed for the tour. Maybe if you chose another time to leave, maybe you wouldn't be having this problem.
Lend me your hand."
no subject
He tilted his head at him, his eyes narrowed and calculating before he gave him a small smile. "Lend me your communicator." He held out his hand. "Fair trade, isn't it?"
no subject
He knew how it is to miss someone, how to miss his own world. He had duties there, but the quickest way to get there was to cooperate. For now.
He tilted his head and shot him a small smile. "You can have it."
no subject
Kaworu was on his own then. Kadaj had little intent of cooperating outside of this exchange.
He arched a brow at him at the last statement. "Not going to need it?"
no subject
He shook his head, eyes lowered in thought though he made eye contact when he spoke. "You need it more than I."
