{open; don't leave me here to pass through time}

Characters: Kadaj ([livejournal.com profile] vengefulremnant) and open!
Location: In the streets, heading towards the carnival, though still a good distance from it.
Rating: PG - this may change, depending on who he meets.
Time: August 17th
Description: Not about to let Sephiroth and Cloud to lead him around by the hand, Kadaj is out in the city, intent on getting a communicator.

Kadaj wasn't one to stay in one place for very long. not when the majority of his short life had been taken up in the search for JENOVA, constantly on the move in the hopes that he and his brothers would find some clue that would lead them to her. Now, despite knowing that his 'Mother' wasn't in his city, he didn't find reason to idle. He'd spent the last few days familiarizing himself with the cityscape, isolating the most vulnerable areas, and the most important buildings where he'd likely find what he was looking for.

This supposed 'BREW'- the device that Sephiroth claimed had brought all of them here- was a powerful machine. And it made sense that something of that nature would be with the most powerful person. This rumored Death God that lived within the walls of the school in the center of town… Kadaj had no doubts that he was the one to go to for answers.

But before he could do anything of that nature, the remnant wanted to make sure of that he wasn't accomplishing this alone without reason. The communicator Sephiroth and Cloud both possessed, and inconveniently, kept on their person most of the time, seemed the ideal way go about checking if his brothers had arrived here as well.

This was why Kadaj was walking towards the source of all the ruckus in the city for the past few days. There were bound to be people there, ones with the same communicator his brothers had possessed- communicators that he wouldn't mind taking by coercion or force if it came to that.

Kaworu was one of the many people in the carnival who had in his possession a communicator and perhaps the most vulnerable of them all. Testing the popular 'stair theory' had done a number on him, resulting in a lot of broken bones and bruising. It was a miracle that he lived at all, but here he was, on the way to the carnival with an arm in a sling, a sore chest and a limp.

It's only easy to assume that he's easy pickings.

He heard the footsteps under the din of combined carnival attractions and carnival-goers and turned his head slightly when it came close enough to match his admittedly slow pace. It was a blessing that the carnival went on until the evening, otherwise he wouldn't be able to go at all!

Feeling a smile touch his face, Kaworu glanced to the side at his companion. A guest by the style of his clothing and appearance, a fighter by the way he walked and the sword he carried and… interesting. Human, or beast?

"Yes, actually. Are you going to the carnival as well, journeyman?"

Being pulled into this world with a weapon like BREW meant that coming here automatically limited whatever abilities they had. A censure to the degree that it even sealed Kaworu's powers. It was already difficult for him to remember that he couldn't regenerate back home, what now that he was almost deaf and blind.

Ordinary human senses were lacking in comparison to what he had before but in the same way, he couldn't help but admire them for having them in the first place.

"Yes, like the traveler searching for a new land, or perhaps on a visit to a place he decides on," he elaborated with a gesture of his good arm. It was only too easy to assume that Kaworu was untrained and careless by the way he acted. "What might that be?"

"Don't we all?" Mothers were very precious people, after all. He never had one, could only imagine having one like Shinji or Asuka did.

"Oh! Siblings," he could imagine wanting to contact his siblings, though. But almost distantly. He was sure his siblings weren't interested in talking to him. "Do you not have a communicator?"

There were always those who prided themselves to be the world's tiniest violin. There was never enough foresight, never enough thought put into reality that Kaworu often wondered at Lilin's limited sight.

Mostly amazing because somehow, they were able to either steer themselves into walls or avoid them despite it.

"Spirit-sensei distributed them to everyone who stayed for the tour. Maybe if you chose another time to leave, maybe you wouldn't be having this problem.

Lend me your hand."

"You'd be surprised what hearing someone out can do." He said softly, taking his hand and pressing his communicator into it before curling Kadaj's fingers around it.

He knew how it is to miss someone, how to miss his own world. He had duties there, but the quickest way to get there was to cooperate. For now.

He tilted his head and shot him a small smile. "You can have it."

"Because it might give you information that might be useful," he said with a small smile, shrugging helplessly. "Or might not be."

He shook his head, eyes lowered in thought though he made eye contact when he spoke. "You need it more than I."
