[OPEN]
Characters: OPEN to new arrivals and NPCS.
Where: En route to Casualty Communal
Rating: Gen
Time: August 16, Afternoon
Description: New arrivals, new arrivals! Have a Shibusen-style welcome full of weird people.
Between the carnival arriving the day before and the latest influx of things to do, Spirit had almost forgotten that today was another BREW-brings-people-to-Shibusen-against-their-will day. If he hadn't realized that so many of the faculty members and Death the Kid were preparing for it, he might have forgotten entirely, such was his excitement to take his daughter (ask her, anyway) to the carnival.
As such, Spirit was there with the rest of the Shibusen staff and students to welcome the new guests as they started spilling out of the chamber.

"These should help you get in touch with the other guests and Shibusen," he said with a smile. "We're sorry about dragging you into this business... We really don't mean to! But I promise we're doing our best to figure out how to send all of you back to your homes!"

And how should I be certain that this place isn't an elaborate illusion?

Am I the only one from my...world who is here? [ She pushes back her hair and tries to adjust the collar of coat, grimacing at the dried blood there. It looked as if during the...whatever it was, she was the only one to end up in this place. ]

"W-Wait a damn second!", he shouted, eyes darting around at his surroundings, then stilling to give a suspicious glare at the communicator. Shaking his head in slight disbelief, he uttered, "This can't even be fucking possible! I'm a nation, y'can't just pull me from my people like that!!" Seriously, claims about this fiasco being an accident weren't going to cut it. The fuckers.

"Haha, thank you for your efforts then." The smile Spitfire had on his lips was an all too calm one, considering the circumstances at hand, which might have been worrying for those who knew the man. He didn't seem to show any signs of disbelief or panic either as he took the communicator, giving it a brief glance over before sliding the object into his pocket.
He'd been expecting things to be much worse, after all.

Lowering her hands and looking back up at Spirit, she kept her expression blank, or what could have been seen of it thank to the hood. Maybe if she kept quiet she could do some recon later to figure out just what happened to her.

"If there's no way to go back ourselves, is there any way to at least send a message? Do you know how we got here in the first place?" she asked as she took the offered communicator. She took a glance at it. Interesting. "I don't care what it takes, but I'd like to do whatever I can to alert some colleagues back home." Of course, they might not believe her; Naomi could still scarcely believe it herself. She'd seen some strange things in the past years, but nothing of this caliber before. Any message would have to be carefully worded in order to sound remotely plausible.
She wouldn't panic. Naomi didn't know what kind of efforts they were putting into finding a way to return her and the rest of all these people, but no matter what learning more was the best way to get through this. Anger and frustration could wait until it was truly deserved. If the people here were speaking the truth, they were as much victims of their current situation as much as everybody else here.

One minute she was chasing after Mafuyu, following him down the corridor past the rope shrine, knowing that she was moving towards entering the sleep coma like the others, and eventually be spirited away.
Then- she was here. Miku woke up in a dark room, and then the recording, and now she was being handed a communicator- was it? This was all very strange, and the technology looked odd to her and she figured that maybe she could figure it out later when she had a moment. For now, though, Miku was really wanting to find out more about this- world she was in. It certainly didn't look like Japan, and it definitely did not look like the Manor of Sleep, or Himura Mansion.
"Ah- excuse me, but this- isn't a dream, is it?" Some may consider it a stupid question, but with the things that Miku has seen and been through, it was a viable option to her.

He'd kept pretty quiet, all things considered but he wanted to figure out what was going on and then on top of that he was pretty irritated with the entire situation.
So he chose to keep to the back of the group, his mask more or less obscuring his expression as he kept shooting glances over at Noi to see what she was making of all this.
He was still aggravated he didn't have his hammer.

Mutely she accepted the communicator device and stared at it for a bit, it looked kind of like a mini version of the computers they had in her world and she figured it wouldn't take her that much to figure out how it worked. She took a deep breath and shook her head. "I suppose I'm going to be stuck here for awhile, right?"

[ AROUND SHIBUSEN ]
"Shibusen is an organization and a school that trains meisters and weapons, as was mentioned when you were still in the chamber," Spirit started, walking in front of the crowd as he led them through the many hallways of the place. "We'll be conducting classes here every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:30 in the morning, to make sure that you guys know what these terms are all about, how this world works, and other things."
He led them to a very large, ornate, and symmetrical door with the sign DEATH THE KID on it. "This is Death the Kid's room. He's the current Shinigami, replacing his father."

As probably anyone could guess... he wasn't really the most stellar of students. The only schooling that he could remember was those Spanish lessons he got from Spain in his childhood, and the only phrase that had actually stuck was "Dame un beso." Yeah, school wasn't a very compelling idea for him.

[ OUTSIDE SHIBUSEN ]
"Death City is probably very different from the world you're used to, especially when it comes to technology and, uh, decor." Apparently, death wasn't a prevailing theme in other worlds? How strange. Still, Spirit wasn't one to diss another culture. There WAS one thing he should mention, though, regarding that giant flying thing over the city.
"That one, though! It's a carnival that comes here once a year! You're just in time to catch it on its second day. After tomorrow, it'll be another year before we see it again. Your communicators should serve as an entry pass to the carnival, which entitles you to free food, rides, and other events." Oh, yeah, the certificate. "We'll give you some gift certificates to spend later."
He only gestured to himself and the rest of the people with them. "If you have questions for us, just contact us via our inboxes, found in your communicator."

[ AROUND DEATH CITY ]
"If you look at your communicator, it shows a map of the city and where you are. If you look to your right, there is the Holocaust mall, and a line of other stores that you might find useful during your stay here." He grinned at that, and pointed at some wanted signs. "We're paying for your basic necessities, but if you want to earn extra, we have some deals with the stores here so you guys can apply for jobs, too."
a-am i even allowed to comment to this many threads fdlkajfkdsf;;;
"Dammit," he muttered, idly gazing around at his surroundings, "if they don't have any fucking quality coffee 'round here, I swear..."
With an impatient sigh, Romano asked, "What kinda jobs are we talking 'bout here?" While he really did not like working and putting effort into anything whatsoever, it couldn't hurt to know. After all, the term basic necessities sounded anything but promising. After all, they gave you basic necessities at prison camps, but it didn't mean they were anything sufficient.

[ CASUALTY COMMUNAL ]
"That's another clinic for the guests. It's newly constructed and managed by the guests themselves. As for Casualty Communal itself -- staying here is for free! There's a common room and lounge on the first floor, and the rooms themselves are pretty nice. However, if you find a partner of your own, you can move to Death City Heights. The rooms there are really awesome!"
He led them to the front desk, urging them to line up to get their keys. "Just register and you're done. If you have questions, I'm just here to answer them!" The Communal was getting quite crowded, though. Hopefully, the other dorms would be finished soon.

I have a number of questions.
First and foremost... is there enough room in a communal room for two people, should my younger brother appear?
Second, you mentioned Meisters and Weapons. When you register, are your souls bound together through contract?

[ SOUL PERCEPTION | CASUALTY COMMUNAL ]
Maka took a step forward and cleared her throat, trying to get everyone's attention before she spoke. "Welcome to Death City, everyone. My name is Maka Albarn, a Scythe Meister from Shibusen," she started, pausing to make sure she was being heard. "Since everyone has now gotten a chance to look around some and has been filled in what exactly is going on, I know a lot of you are probably wondering whether you're a Meister or a Weapon.
I have an ability that's known as Soul Perception. It lets me sense and view the souls of people around me - which in turn lets me see who's a Weapon and who's a Meister. I'll be around to answer any questions related to this, so please feel free to come ask me, and I'll be glad to tell you! Thank you."

[ DEATH THE KID'S OFFICE ]
Clearing his throat, he pointed at a large, full length mirror. "This is the primary means of contacting me. As the head of Shibusen I'm busy a lot, but mostly with boring stuff like paperwork." He smiled wryly, before becoming serious again. "...did I remember to fold the end of the toilet paper this morning? ...Liz? Patti?"
And then he suddenly seemed to get a little panicky. "Seriously, did I remember? What is I forgot a pillow on my bed?"
