i'm going to californiaaa!

Characters: Excalibro [[livejournal.com profile] excali_fornia] (technically) and YOU.
Location: Nocturne Bazaar!
Rating: Eeeh, PG? PG-13? Depending on how deep into his tales he goes.
Time: Afternoon? On the first day.
Description: Excalibur has his own game booth at the festival! Have at it, citizens. Kesese.

[Amongst all of the crowded game and food booths, there is one in particular that stands out compared to the rest. Why does it stand out? ...Simply because there is no one there, almost as if the booth itself is emitting an aura that no one in Death City wants to ever witness again. There are no lines at this booth. Only music, and an announcer shouting out at the pedestrians.]

YOU THERE! Fool! Do you think if you try this game you will win a prize?

[The music that plays in the background at the booth can be recognized by a faint Excalibuuuur. The booth itself seems as though there is no one managing it. Some prizes on the wall include what look like white, plastic canes, books with yellow binding, golden sword in the stone models (which are actually solid chocolate! It's a miracle they're not melting in this heat!), plushies of various sizes, and white top hats. Have at it!]

[ooc; except I am going to sleep because I have an extreme headache, so I will tag later!]

Merlin had always liked festivals - back in Ealdor they were often the most interesting thing that ever happened, and in Camelot they were an even bigger and more fanstic affair. (Though, he had to admit...this one here was somewhat more impressive than any of the ones he'd seen back home.) So, he'd braved the sun and coated himself with the wonderful sunscreen stuff that a really annoying man who didn't believe in magic had told him about, and went to the carnival.

...Unfortunately, there was a major threat to Merlin's ability to have fun right now. Namely, Arthur. He still hadn't been able to transform back, and so for the past few days Merlin had been forced to carry Arthur around and do everything for him (well...Merlin already did everything for Arthur, but now he did everything even more). And now, instead of being able to wonder freely, he had to carry Arthur around an go wherever the prince wanted.

Sometimes life just wasn't fair.

But when an announcer yelled at him, Merlin just smiled and said, "Sorry, not interested." He'd been to enough fairs to know that an empty stall was not a good sign.

During her reign, Saber had seen many fairs, though she had not been able to properly enjoy them in lieu of the work of governing. Her appearances had been political; the people needed to see that the King was there. But now that she had been freed -- albeit temporarily -- from her 'life' as a Servant, she had a certain amount of freedom that she had never had after she had pulled Caliburn from its stone and accepted the mantle of Britain's ruler. She almost didn't know what to do with herself.

...
Almost
. Saber found various food vendors easily, discovering the stands for things such delicacies as takoyaki -- fried squid balls -- with uncanny accuracy. Yet as she munched happily on her loot, the girlish knight stopped in mid-stride by the shout. Sea-green eyes blinked twice at the downright bizarre scene it seemed to issue from: an empty booth with a collection of odd prizes.

She was certain that, from the fairs she had seen, such booths were supposed to be occupied by vendors.

[What the hell is that. Junpei has no idea how to even react to it.]

...Dude, put on some pants.

[Al knows he really should take the deserted booth as a bad omen, but he can't help feeling sorry for someone who doesn't appear to have a single customer. No game can be that bad, right?

Against his better judgment, he walks up for a closer look.]

Yuuri was surprised to find that there was a deserted booth among all the other filled with stall owners and mascots. Slowing as he noticed the music playing in the background, the young Maou leant in to have a closer look before the loud announcement had him flailing back in surprise.

"Eeeh!" He called out in shock. Glancing over to Raenef wide-eyed, the young Maou pointed to himself as he regarded the empty space and asked, "Are you talking about us?"

Well Beat couldn't just back down from a challenge, would he? He was always a bit overconfident in his abilities. So he does walk over and do a few stretching exercises with his hands to prepare himself.
