Last night, Minato accepted his self-imposed exile outside of Lili's door and considered the breadth of his options. Now that Yukari and Lili knew about one another, and more importantly about his relationships with the both of them, a resolution was being forced. Since the option of both together was no longer viable, he needed to proceed along the path of least tragedy. That in itself was proving difficult. Thankfully, the volatile addition of Fuuka's confession diffused itself comfortably. One less variable to worry about; it gave Minato the breathing room he needed to think.

At close to midnight, however, Minato had stood up and retreated into his room to use the toilet. He had taken a shower and changed into his pajamas for the night. He was ready to return to Lili's door at that point, but never made it that far: smoke billowed in from under his door and blackened the threshold--the door was on fire! Worse, the door was jammed by a toothbrush on the outside, trapping him inside with the smoke and soot. It was only later, when other residents arrived to put out the fire and release that jam that he was able to escape, coughing and sooty and more miserable than he'd been before. Too tired to process what was happening any more and not even certain if Lili was in her room at all, Minato stumbled back to the foot of Lili's door and got what little sleep he could before morning training.

That was his night. Today, having arranged meetings with Other Self-chan, Souji-san, and Yukari-chan for when they were free, Minato rested on the floor of the SEES Headquarters and waited for them to arrive. If he was lucky, someone would also bring him something to eat...

... He was going to need all the energy he could ingest for the hard choices he was going have to make today.
