[OPEN] Earthquake Event

Characters: OPEN
Location: Death City
Rating: Varied
Time: Jan 22
Description: OOC post here.

It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.

The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.

This in-game day will last a week irl.

"Understood. And, um," with the mildest edge of surprise as he reached out to accept the pack, "thank you very much. Are you sure you will not need it yourself, sir?"

"I've got an extra. When I saw what happened, I started making a few of these." Auron looked over the devastation in his district and shook his head. "We'll probably need more by the time the day is over. So thanks for helping."
briochetime: (I will turn this car around.)

"That's... a good idea." And it was; he'd taken to carrying a few small necessities around with him, but the idea of making something as organized as a pack hadn't really occurred to him.

Perhaps it could even be said he was spoiled, in his own way. He was used to having resources down the hall, or at least somewhere within easy walking distance. "And," slightly embarrassed, "it's only natural to lend a hand at a time like this. Are the supplies from the clinic?"

"I haven't had any time to go there yet, but I've shooed people there. No, this is all stuff I got from stores that were still open." And possibly from stores that weren't. Auron wasn't normally a thief but this was an emergency. "If you need really good supplies, you can go to the clinic. Thank you again for helping out."

Allen probably wouldn't have thought to take supplies by less-than-legal means himself -- he wasn't, precisely, the heroic type. But there was always the implicit understanding that in a disaster need tended to trump everything else, a lesson in principles he'd learned the hard way without looking to.

Thus, stolen or not, whether he knew it or not, he'd use them anyway.

"I understand." It was good thinking, either way, to pull together resources from the district despite the chaos rather than taking detours. His own assumption was probably proof he still wasn't thinking clearly. He didn't, however, protest the thanks again -- already moving off now into the district. "I'll do what I can."
