[OPEN] Earthquake Event
Characters: OPEN
Location: Death City
Rating: Varied
Time: Jan 22
Description: OOC post here.
It's early in the morning -- just after morning training -- when the ground beneath Death City shakes violently in what most of you might recognize as an earthquake. It's not a particularly huge one for the more experienced of the guests, but it sends cracks shooting through the cobblestoned ground of Death City and up the sides of some buildings. A small handful of structures, mostly those that have been abandoned in the course of this war or the very old ones, take the most damage and topple over or crumble at their foundations.
The earthquake lasts no more than half a minute, but the vibrations and aftershocks last through the day. Death City's streets become full of holes, from those the size of apples to what could be described as deep ditches. The greatest damage, however, is the commercial sector, which becomes flooded as the waterways take damage and spill water into the streets. Shibusen's alarms blare out and quick, urgent orders to fix the waterways and search for the injured or anyone trapped in rubble filter in through all networks.
ooc: Like always, please feel free to start your own threads. Follow the subject line format:

[Takasugi & Allen] [Outer Zone, en-route to the city proper] [CLOSED]
Yeah, this is just the distraction he needs to take his mind off of things. 8|]

Still, being outside means he's escaped significant injury, so for now he's trying to help with some emergency treatments and removal of rubble. Unfortunately, his grasp of first aid isn't the best ever considering it's from... the 6th century (Earth equivalent medieval period, let's say). Oops?]
no subject
Hey.
[Walking over.]
no subject
Maybe he really should try the medical training instead of just stalking it....
Anyway, this guy sure does look all official-like.]
Um, yes?
no subject
[Bringing out his medical kit!]
no subject
... Perhaps that would be best.
no subject
Do you work with the clinic, or SEES?
no subject
I'm affiliated with neither.
[Yep, he really is just a random passerby.]
no subject
[Yeah, this guy patches people up often...]
no subject
It's only natural to collaborate when the place you live needs it.
[In his view, it's simply what should be done -- many times because the commoners can't expect too much help from above. Once again, he no longer has the luxury of considering himself separate from that. It's kind of a relief.]
no subject
If it was natural, more people would think like you. Still, I'm glad to see that we share that belief.
no subject
Well, I suppose there's no shortage of unnatural elements in this city.
[And back to watching. Totes serious.]
Are you unaffiliated as well, sir?
no subject
no subject
At this point he's gotten tired of sitting around and has set to helping someone else, doing his best to apply the same techniques. He's actually pretty good at the basics -- it's just the more modern aspects of it that trip him up.]
The Watch... may I ask how long it has been established in the city?
[Because it sure is organized for a citizens' thing...]
no subject
I think it's been around for five months now.
no subject
[There's a brief silence as he concentrates on a particularly tricky bit of bandaging, biting his lip as he leans in.]
... I was just wondering how long the war has been going on. No one so far seems able to tell me.
no subject
[Already helping out another person as they're talking, occasionally stopping to reassure his latest patient.]
no subject
... Oh.
[That's actually more in line with what he was expecting of war, but it also kind of... surpasses his expectations. He was kind of hoping it would still be a preternaturally short sort of war.
He's not quite sure what to do with that, so, back to bandaging.]
May I ask how long you've been here, sir?
no subject
[And thinking on that a moment.]
It's been close to three months for me now.
no subject
[Quick and dirty introductions; there's simply too much on their hands at the moment for anything more than a nod to go with that. He's getting faster, though -- it was already work he was used to; just needed a closer look at the particulars.]
It seems as though many of the guests have been here for a period of a handful of months.
[It's sort of a not-question. He's still very much on the fence as to what he thinks of the Watch itself.]
no subject
[He... personally didn't relish the thought of staying TOO long, but he wasn't exactly excited by the prospect of going home either. Especially when he took his projected future into consideration.]
no subject
no subject
I think some of them might be. I haven't really asked... although, I know our commander's one of the 'senior' guests.
no subject
[And straightening:]
I believe that may be the last of those needing medical attention here.
no subject
[Hum, a little awkward about the address.]
Just 'Shinsuke' should be fine.
