Group Date at the Cafe~

Characters: [livejournal.com profile] fearless_tech, [livejournal.com profile] pianoman_soul, EVERYONE ELSE.
Location: Death By Pastry Cafe.
Rating: G for now.
Time: July 20th, early morning.
Description: Soul and Maka try to hook everyone up before the big battle.

Upon entering the cafe, one may notice a large spread of various desserts laid out on each table. Everything looked clean and tidy, and Maka was currently circling around every now and then, making sure everything was in place.

She never tried helping others form partnerships before, but hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult. She had her Soul Perception to see who may match well, and the trust games she had planned out might help strengthen bonds. Not that she went into too much detail about that.

"How does everything look?" she asked Soul.

He looked up at her from his seat, mostly preoccupied with his cupcake. He just nodded and gave her a thumbs up.

If anything, she thought this would prove interesting, and hopefully helpful despite it being short notice.

Doors now open, they were ready to begin.

[ooc: SORRY THIS IS LATE. But anyway, a quick note - since Soul and Maka were put in charge of helping people form partnerships, they're likely to be jumping in and out of threads, trying to introduce people and whatnot. Basically playing host. Oh, and feel free to use [action] tags if you prefer that!]

If he could still blink, he would. Either way, Hirohiko was very much confused, possibly taken aback, and he was pretty sure his expression showed it. "Eh...?"

"Eh?" Allen repeated the confused noise, seeming to have a moment of being equally perplexed before seeming to realise where the information was missing "Oh--! I'm sorry, I'm a Meister. My ability is Soul Perception, so I can see people's souls and whether they are a Weapon or Meister. You're a Weapon, as far as I can see."

[identity profile] sunflower-amory.livejournal.com 2010-03-01 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's...really useful." It was the best reply he could come up with. "No chances of it making a wrong reading?"

[identity profile] antiakuma.livejournal.com 2010-03-01 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's... Certainly possible, I suppose," He rubs the back of his neck as he replies "But I don't think I have been thus far. Do you not feel like you're a Weapon?"

[identity profile] sunflower-amory.livejournal.com 2010-03-01 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Another pause. "How exactly does one 'feel' if they are weapon or Meister?"

[identity profile] antiakuma.livejournal.com 2010-03-01 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
The moment of silence that followed suggested that Allen was contemplating this point. "I'm not entirely sure. I think it's different for everyone. Just an... Sense of what you might be, as it were. Some people have said that you can work out which you are--and in turn your form as a weapon if you are one--through meditation."

There is another beat then he adds in a slightly muttered way "Though I've also heard people say you can find out your weapon form by falling down stairs..."

[identity profile] sunflower-amory.livejournal.com 2010-03-01 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
He let out a contemplative hum at that. "There wouldn't happen to be any conveniently-located stairs around here?"

(This, even if he didn't explicitly state it, was intended as a joke.)

Sadly, Allen doesn't take it as a joke considering all the tales he has heard about people falling, and being kicked, down stairs that has resulted in them changing into their weapons forms.

"N-not that I'm aware of, sir! Y-you might have to give that one a miss...!"

Such a reaction was unexpected...ly amusing. He smiled. "Pity. Guess I'll have to do it the tedious way. And I was under the impression that I was actually a Meister..."
