Group Date at the Cafe~

Characters: [livejournal.com profile] fearless_tech, [livejournal.com profile] pianoman_soul, EVERYONE ELSE.
Location: Death By Pastry Cafe.
Rating: G for now.
Time: July 20th, early morning.
Description: Soul and Maka try to hook everyone up before the big battle.

Upon entering the cafe, one may notice a large spread of various desserts laid out on each table. Everything looked clean and tidy, and Maka was currently circling around every now and then, making sure everything was in place.

She never tried helping others form partnerships before, but hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult. She had her Soul Perception to see who may match well, and the trust games she had planned out might help strengthen bonds. Not that she went into too much detail about that.

"How does everything look?" she asked Soul.

He looked up at her from his seat, mostly preoccupied with his cupcake. He just nodded and gave her a thumbs up.

If anything, she thought this would prove interesting, and hopefully helpful despite it being short notice.

Doors now open, they were ready to begin.

[ooc: SORRY THIS IS LATE. But anyway, a quick note - since Soul and Maka were put in charge of helping people form partnerships, they're likely to be jumping in and out of threads, trying to introduce people and whatnot. Basically playing host. Oh, and feel free to use [action] tags if you prefer that!]

Ah... You know. To show that you have faith in your partner! Leaning backwards and trusting your partner to catch you. Things like that. [a smile]

Oh that sounds fun! [but she was probably to small] Maybe Nanako and I can try it sometime.

[looks eager] Are there ones we could play?

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
Huh? You mean you and me? [d-dawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww x 1000]

...what other games ARE there

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-02-24 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
[hgfjkdghdfjk] Sure. I can play for a little while. [he wonders what other games they could play that didn't involve falling and catching each other. Hm. He reaches down to take her hand and steer her to an empty table]

[she follows, having to take a couple steps to his one to keep up but she doesn't seem to mind. Maybe it's because he's her home but she doesn't have that same wariness she displays towards most other adults]

((ooc; maybe we can try one of these (http://wilderdom.com/games/TrustActivities.html)? Any catch your eye?))

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[once he finds a table for them, he pulls out her chair first, make sure she is comfortable, and then sits down himself. He looks around for a while to get ideas before turning back to smile at Matilda] Are you hungry or thirsty?

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[She stops a little when he pulls out her chair, to give him a slightly clumsy curtsy to show her thanks before hopping up on the chair]

[a the question she nods]

Mmhmm! It's always so hot in this city.

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-02-26 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[gets back to his feet] I'll get you something! Then we can think of a game to play. [and off he goes!]

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-02-27 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[She nods and waits, swinging her feet which dangle above the ground for a while.

She's really happy that her home is such a nice guy--and he was one of the people who had destroyed a Kishin. Matilda recalled the story Prussia had told her well, it had been a very vivid narration after all.

While he was getting a drink she looked towards the front now that she was on a seat and able to. Trying to catch each other probably wouldn't be a good game for them, but some of them were doing other things--a staring contest??

Maybe they could try that]

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-02-28 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
[Ah, here we are. He returns a minute later with some water for both of them, and a pastry if Matilda would like it]

Thank you for waiting. [he sits down] So, what kind of games would be fun for you?

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[she swung her legs a little bit excitedly when he returned]

Most of the games look like they might be too hard [ah that was life on the short lane]

But some people have been doing something like a staring contest, maybe that?

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Staring contest? [he looks around to see if he can see what she's talking about. Sure enough, there are couples who are staring at each other for a long time. What was that? a trust-building activity?]

I see. [turns back to Matilda] We can do that.

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[she grins and nods her head, ribbon flopping ad bit. Funnily enough it actually takes her a moment before she raises her head to look him in the eye directly--after all she's always been told it was something rude, but a game was a game, right?]

[As she looked at him with slight shyness she asked] What's it like to be England?

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-24 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[He does not think it's rude. It shows honesty and courage to look someone in the eye. That's what England thinks. And he's focused on his little citizen now. A girl so young... here...]

It's very different from being human. [he wants to make it easy to explain, but not make it sound like a bad thing. Because he loves being a country. It's the only thing he's known up until recently] For one thing, I am not injured easily, though if my people are suffering, I suffer as well. [examples of this were the Black Plague, as well as being bombed in certain areas]

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[small confused frown]

How do you mean?

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[still keeping his eyes on the girl]

I am directly tied to the thoughts of my citizens. Their goals are my goals, and vice-versa.

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Goals. She ponders this a bit, her eyes not leaving his. What are her goals? For that matter what are the goals of her country? She may read a lot but there are still many things someone so young can't understand]

What are yo--our goals?

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
Your goals are the same as everyone else's in the end. You want to survive, to make an impact on society, to live. In the end, that's what I want, too. My goal is to be here for you, as your country, for as long as I can.

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[At that she broke contact a little, looking down. Since coming here there had been a lot of people who had looked out for her well-being, and she was embarrassed that such a thing was a bit new and overwhelming for her. Alphonse, Heather, Dojima, Roy, Souji, China, Prussia the list went on and on.]

Thank you

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[A-ah! What did he do?]

E-er! Are you alright?

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[she nods, but keeps her head down]

Uh-huh. It's just that no one has ever said something like that to me before.

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh... OH... he's very surprised, and concerned. Also, sad. That makes him very very sad]

.........

[silent for a moment, just staring. And then he reaches across the table to place his hand on hers. You don't need to worry anymore. He is here for you...]

[identity profile] nailsandglass.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[looks at his hand, and then back up at him, smiling, and understanding the silent message. She curls her hand around his]

[identity profile] notexcalibur.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[oh good. The smile is nice. And he smiles back]

I... I don't want to make light of a bad situation, or put down your world... But. [sigh] Maybe you were brought here to show other people how special you are.
