Group Date at the Cafe~
Characters:
fearless_tech,
pianoman_soul, EVERYONE ELSE.
Location: Death By Pastry Cafe.
Rating: G for now.
Time: July 20th, early morning.
Description: Soul and Maka try to hook everyone up before the big battle.
Upon entering the cafe, one may notice a large spread of various desserts laid out on each table. Everything looked clean and tidy, and Maka was currently circling around every now and then, making sure everything was in place.
She never tried helping others form partnerships before, but hopefully it wouldn't be too difficult. She had her Soul Perception to see who may match well, and the trust games she had planned out might help strengthen bonds. Not that she went into too much detail about that.
"How does everything look?" she asked Soul.
He looked up at her from his seat, mostly preoccupied with his cupcake. He just nodded and gave her a thumbs up.
If anything, she thought this would prove interesting, and hopefully helpful despite it being short notice.
Doors now open, they were ready to begin.
[ooc: SORRY THIS IS LATE. But anyway, a quick note - since Soul and Maka were put in charge of helping people form partnerships, they're likely to be jumping in and out of threads, trying to introduce people and whatnot. Basically playing host. Oh, and feel free to use [action] tags if you prefer that!]

Lol <3!
He didn't mind the other king's touch as Sara moved it away. Now that he knew what he had to do, Yuuri could focus his attention on that. There had only been two people he'd tried resonating with before now, but as his thougjts drifted to Horohoro and Gwendal, Yuuri found his eyes widening subtly. What if they didn't resonate? He wouldn't be able to help Sara at all if that was the case!
"Sara! What if we can't resonate together?" Yuuri suddenly called out.
no subject
"Ah...you're right," Sara said frowning slightly. "Well, there's nothing we can do if we can't, and in that case I'll just have to find someone else..." After a moment, he flashed Yuuri a reassuring smile. "Still, we won't know until we try, right? Pehaps we'll get lucky~"
no subject
"When do you think is a good time to try it?" Yuuri found himself asking as he pulled his hands free and peered at his friend. He didn't stay still for long, and just as quickly as he'd freed his hands, Yuuri's right hand reached out to grap Sara's, "You should probably look for another weapon while we're here just incase we can't pair up."

And found him holding hands with a handsome young blond man.
"Yuuri!" he yelped in outrage, then dug his heels in, wrestling with his temper. He wasn't going to yell. He must be misinterpreting things. Maybe this stranger was just asking if he could work with Yuuri, except, of course, that Yuuri had come here not wanting to find a Meister, and he looked perfectly content with the hand-holding, which he shouldn't be.
Most certainly shouldn't be. At all. Wolfram wasn't.
"Who are you?" he asked the blond, ice dripping from his tone.
no subject
His thoughts came to an abrupt halt at the familiar shrieking voice. "Wo-Wolfram!" Yuuri exclaimed loudly as he almost dropped the hold he had on Sara in surprise.
no subject
"Lord von Bielefeld," he greeted the other coolly. "You've forgotten already? It's only been a day since we spoke over those little devices~"
no subject
He recognized that voice, too, and his fury inched closer to the boiling point. Just a friend? Was he supposed to believe that when the king of Small Shimaron was acting like this!?
Gritting his teeth, he counted backwards from ten, and managed a tone that was not a yell.
"I didn't recognize you in person, King Saralegui."
It wasn't friendly, but it wasn't a yell. He turned to Yuuri, grabbing just as possessively for his fiance's free hand.
"Yuuri, I need to talk to you about something. Come on."
no subject
"What could you possibly need to-" His words cut off as his other hand was suddenly taken and pulled into Wolfram's grasp. "Wolfram! What are you doing?"
no subject
It didn't matter anyway. He'd already won.
"I suppose your fiancé needs you for something," he said lightly, keeping a challenging stare aimed at the other blonde. "But that's alright, we can attempt that resonating later, Yuuri~"
no subject
Well, maybe he was. Hand tightening around Yuuri's - his grip now more crushing than possessive - he offered the King of Small Shimaron a very tiny inclination of his head as a farewell.
Then he dragged Yuuri away at a very fast stomp.
The moment they were out of earshot, he stopped, spinning around to glare at his fiance.
"What do you think you're doing?" he snapped, and no, he wasn't going to yell, he might feel like yelling but this was in public at a party and he had more sense than that. "Yuuri--" you cheater. "You said you weren't looking for a meister!"
no subject
"Egh!" The glare had his complaints halting right in their tracks as he received Wolfram's glare.
"I wasn't," Yuuri muttered. The last thing he wanted to do was to hurt someone else, but knowing that his friends were going out to fight and he wasn't going with them left him feeling panicked. What if something happened to them because he wasn't there? "But I can't protect anyone if I don't go out and help."
no subject
"Don't let yourself get dragged into the fight," he lectured, letting Yuuri's hand fall and crossing his arms. "You don't want to fight, and it's not even your fight. We'll be fine."
...Besides, if Saralegui was less than fine, Wolfram thought he could live with that.
"You don't need to protect us," he added, a little more gently. "We're supposed to protect you, Yuuri."
no subject
"I can't just sit by and let you go out there to fight alone," Yuuri softly murmured. Reaching forward, he lightly grasped Wolfram's elbow as sighed, "I want to be there with you and everyone else. What if something happens because I wasn't there to help?"
no subject
But there was one difference - Yuuri didn't want to fight. And this wasn't the kind of thing he needed to face as a king. And Wolfram wasn't about to let that damn Shimaron sneak get any closer to Yuuri than he already had.
Pulling his elbow away from Yuuri's hand, he said, "Weren't you going to help with the wounded? You can do that. If you're in battle - "
He hesitated for a moment, then rushed onward, repeating arguments he'd heard a long time ago. He didn't want to, but - they'd worked, after all....
"If you're in battle, we'll have to protect you," he said. "You're more likely to be hurt, and we're more likely to get hurt trying to keep you safe."
The sadness in Yuuri's eyes hurt to see. Wolfram swallowed, and said, "Anyway, we'll be fine, Yuuri, like I said. We'll get this stupid fight over with, and we'll be home before you know it."
no subject
"Wolfram is right, Your Majesty. You don't belong out there, you can do so much more good helping the wounded."
no subject
"I don't want any of you to get hurt because of me... that's the last thing that I ever want to happen." Yuuri found himself muttering. The memories of what had happened to Conrad flashed through his mind along with Gwendal's recent injuries before his attention was drawn by the sound of Wolfram's swallowing.
His mouth opened to speak, but just as he did, Conrad's voice spoke above him. The fact that Conrad hadn't used his name went entirely over Yuuri's notice this time as he quietly murmured, "...Conrad..."
no subject
He reached out to take Yuuri's hand, bristling a little at Conrad's arrival -- did he have to be here? -- but not letting his other brother's presence deter him.
The fact that Conrad agreed with him made him bristle just a little bit more. But. Well. Of course Conrad agreed. He was right.
Wolfram kept his grip on Yuuri's hand and stayed quiet.

"I know," His voice trailed off into a sigh before he muttered, "But Sara feels safe when I'm around, and I don't want to let him down. What if he can't find a weapon in time? He'll be defenseless out there."
no subject
Wolfram snorted. "If he can't find a weapon in time he won't be in the fight, Yuuri." And how had Yuuri gotten that idea in his head, anyway? He frowned. It almost sounded like Saralegui was trying to... no. Probably not, anyway.
"You don't have to fight just because he wants to."

Conrad's words had Yuuri's eyes widening in surprise. Turning sharply to regard him, he automatically said, "No! I could neve--" Yuuri's words trailed off as he glanced away.
No, he could never bring himself to hurt someone else in such a way, but was that what Sara would really do with him? A brief flash of the Shadow ran through his mind at the thought. He couldn't even stand hurting that let alone something of flesh and blood. "--I could never bring myself to do that to someone else."
