Description: Welcome to Death City!



BREW's at it again. After powering up, giving energy readings on the night of the 5th that alerted Shibusen to new arrivals, they turn now to volunteers to assist in giving the newcomers the information and supplies they need.

Perhaps you're one of the ones who woke up in the Kishin Chamber on the morning of the 6th. Perhaps you live in Casualty Communal and were woken up by equipment transporting strange x-ray machines to rest in front of the building, prepared to scan the fresh meat and determine which are Meisters and which are Weapons.

The sun is laughing high in the sky as temperatures soar to 110 degrees F. The air wobbles in the distance, and many citizens are drinking plenty of iced tea and lemonade to cool down. One group of children has popped open a fire hydrant and are playing in the spraying water before the police arrive to give them trouble.

No doubt the new arrivals are confused... let's give them a warm welcome, shall we? But not too warm- stay hydrated and cool, everyone!

And new guys? Welcome to the desert.

[Minako's just passing by, but she knows the sound of distress when she hears it!! Or she's also just the friendly type who'd help even a stranger out in a situation like this, either or. So don't mind one teenage girl coming to the rescue, Josuke...!]

Hey there! I'm guessing you're in a bit of a pinch? [She knows that being hungry is a Problem.]

[ Minako's the saving angel in the middle of his emergency situation.. but no, really, what could be better than being helped by a friendly girl? It sure won't make him any less hungry, but it's better than standing here freaking out by himself. ]

Yeah, you can say that again! [ He manages to calm himself a little though, rubbing the back of his head and looking a little more sheepish. ] I wanted to go eat, but I don't have any cash! It's all gone, even though I had it right in my pocket before! Man, that kind of stuff ain't right..

Seriously? That sucks... [Shibusen why do you do this to them. But that's when Minako checks the money she has in her pocket. It should be enough to cover a second person...] How about this though: if you don't mind going with a stranger, I'll buy you some food. It would just be cruel to leave someone hungry!

Ah, it really is an angel, isn't it.. He's gone straight to heaven and there's nice girl angels who buy him food, it's like everything good in the world gathered in one moment. It makes him forget his trouble with how weird all this is and how he doesn't have his Stand and can't contact his friends for a moment, instead he looks really surprised. ]

Wha-- you're serious?! You'll pay food for me?

we're not gonna make it......

[She laughs lightly at his reaction. Was it really that surprising? Although it's a better reaction than something negative at least. You never know how social links are supposed to be answered man.]

Yeah, seriously! I wouldn't mind grabbing a bite to eat now anyways, and I have enough money to pay for a second person right now.

Woah.. thanks! [ The realisation that he's getting food slowly dawns upon him, and it makes him grin widely at the girl. To think there's people out there who will just buy food for a stranger like that..! Although honestly, he feels sort of bad taking advantage of it, so.. ] I'll buy you some back sometime when I actually have cash though, I swear! I'll owe you!

[ But for now this is fine. More than fine, considering his stomach still sounds like an aggressive bear. ]

It's nice to meet you, Josuke-kun! I'm Minako Arisato. [She smiles brightly, looking around now.] Let's see... I think there should be a ramen shop around here actually, so how about we go there?

Man, anything sounds fine right about now! I could eat a horse!

[ He starts laughing again, but then hse stops abruptly in the middle of his laugh, looking a little more troubled as he thinks back of Amaterasu.. ]

.. Hey, horses don't talk to you too here, do they?

Not that I know of. [...] There are some pretty weird things here that talk when it seems like they shouldn't though.

[Granted she's not really sure how to explain what Excalibur is but whatever he is SOMETHING LIKE THAT SHOULDN'T TALK.]

[ He glances around them, as if he thinks they might be listened in on.. but then he leans over towards her, whispering as he points at the sky with another finger. ]

So is that thing up there gonna talk to?

[ He means the sun.. IT HAS A FACE, OKAY. ]

[SHE DOESN'T BLAME YOU JOSUKE, she was just as wary...]

I don't think it does, but... [She leans over to whisper too.] Sometimes it laughs.

W-.. wha-- you've gotta be kidding!

[ He realises that was a little louder than intended and quickly slaps a hand in front of his mouth, glancing up at the sun again. So that thing is alive after all?! That's so freaky.. ]

Why couldn't they say anything about that in that tour they did?

I have no idea. I guess it's because they think that's just... normal. [Her tone makes it evident that THIS SHOULDN'T BE NORMAL NOT IN THE LEAST. Shibusen is a crazy and weird place man.]

[ He's starting to get that impression.. but it's at least a good thing to have someone else here who thinks all of this is freakishly weird too. ]

Well.. maybe you can tell me some more stuff about this place while we eat. Sounds like a plan, right? I bet there's tons of stuff they didn't say yet!

Right, right! I'll tell you everything I know about this place once we start eating.

[AND LO AND BEHOLD they've reached the ramen shop. Or something we can roll with this right.]

[ We are the masters of interesting rp, we really are.. but the moment she says that he's already eyeing the menu like a child that was just told it can ask for anything it wants for Christmas, he's so super eager..

But then he suddenly seems to realise something, and she frowns slightly at her. ]

Hey, you shouldn't just tell people that! They'll take advantage of you and order everything, or the most expensive thing on purpose, or-- uh, well, something like that! I'm fine with just having something normal.

It's fine, it's fine. I like working part-time jobs anyways, so I'd be able to make it back eventually anyways. [Making people happy is fun!! Even if it's something simple like this.]

Man, if all girls were like you.. [ Not that he finishes that sentence, he just lets it trail off as they order some food. Thank god, his stomach really was grumbling, he was about to be at his limit here..! ]

So.. uh, Minako-- you don't mind me saying just Minako, right? I'm not used to being all formal and stiff.

[But Josuke if all girls were like her they'd end up dead at 16 I MEAN--She laughs off his question, smiling easily.]

No, I don't mind. Formality doesn't bother me too much.

[ WOAH WOAH WAIT A SECOND he's not going to let her die!! He'll.. repair the seal with his Stand.. yeah.. it'll totally work okay. ]

Heh, that makes it easier! You can just call me Josuke too, I don't mind. [ That puts him in an even better mood, and he grins. ] It'll at least be good to have a familiar face around, I just got confused as shit when they started explaining everything with Meisters and Weapons and whatever else.

Josuke it is then! [THE NAMES HAVE BEEN DECIDED!!] Yeah, I don't blame you. On top of everything being so weird, just getting it all at once was even more of a handful.

I know! And then they went right ahead and told me I was a Weapon, but they also said I gotta figure out what kind myself.. aren't they supposed to help with that shit?! Geez, it's like they're only doing a half-assed job!

[ Not that he isn't willing to try, he's definitely going to.. it's just that he feels like he's being thrown into the situation without hardly being told anything to begin with. ]

Hmm, well for that, there are these monthly gatherings for things like training, figuring out what kind of weapon you are or what your soul ability-thing is. Someone there could probably help you figure it out!

I see, huh... maybe I'll figure it out there then. Or I'll ask one of the high bozos here 'bout how to figure it out if I need to fight anytime soon.

[ It's not as if Josuke wouldn't jump right in when hearing he needs to help out, after all.. ]

I don't wanna let the people here be in danger while I'm loafing around.

I'd say you only need to fight if you go on missions, but things can be dangerous right here in the city too sometimes.
