Anise hated waiting. She would much rather go out and do something than to just sit around. With the recent events, she really wanted a weapon to help her out but she can be picky. She was use to having Tokunaga, her doll, do most of the work but what can she do now? She was use to being in the background and dish out spells, she wanted a staff. However, there wasn't much she could do. She had to try out different weapons.

With a sigh, she mumbled and went out to get some dinner. There was no use in getting upset on an empty stomach.

"Oh really?" She raised an eyebrow at him. "I was thinking of joining myself before I decided to get another job..."

[flamberge]

Hold it. She had thought of joining the Watch? Kratos matched Anise's raised eyebrow with on of his own. "You were considering joining the Watch?"

[tokunagas]

"Yup, but I decided against it since I needed a weapon." And Anise was kind of picky too.

[flamberge]

"You are provided with a standard weapon of your choosing upon joining." Note the sword Kratos has on him right now.

So her reasoning for not joining was a lack of weapon, not lack of fighting skill. Interesting considering she played up that defenseless little girl act a few minutes prior.

[tokunagas]

"But I'm picky." She said to him. In addition, she wasn't too sure if it was a good idea to join the Watch. Without Tokunaga to help her and in a place where fonic artes doesn't work, how else could she fight? She was only 5'0 and fairly light.

"Besides, I doubt that anything that they have would work for me."

[flamberge]

So she likely did know how to fight, though that knowledge did little good at the present moment. At least he'd have that bit of information for future reference, or rather, for next time should she attempt dragging him somewhere with the pretense of being defenseless.

Although, he was curious as to what weapon she possibly use which could not easily be acquired for her. "What are you typically accustomed to using?"

[tokunagas]

"I usually use two weapons, a mace and..." She pointed to Tokunaga. "my doll ♥!" While she was a little unsure about talk to people, giving some really basic information couldn't hurt. Besides, she doubts that telling him how she fights would come back to haunt her. At least, that's what she hopes. "Tokunaga can grow fairly big and he can match my movements too."

[flamberge]

Kratos glanced once more at Tokunaga, but this time studied the toy for a moment. A doll as a weapon? Certainly an original way of battling. Seeing as a mace would likely be easily obtainable, that must have meant that the weapon she couldn't get a replacement for was her doll. "So then your doll does not function here?"

[tokunagas]

"Nope, he doesn't. If I could, it would have made fighting a lot easier!" She pouted. "Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about him getting quite as dirty anymore! It will ruin how cute he looks! ♥!"

[flamberge]

"Hmph. Indeed." How that doll constituted as cute was beyond him. Strange, perhaps, but hardly cute. Ah well. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as the saying went. Shame it didn't work here, though. Witnessing a doll fight would have definitely been interesting. "Could you not have simply opted to wield a mace alone?"

[tokunagas]

"Yea but I'm not use to fighting without Tokunaga around." A sigh. "I suppose practice makes perfect, I'll have to find a mace soon and start fighting whenever I can." Although, a part of her does feel like this place has taken away what reminded her of her world. Yes she still has it but it felt odd not to fight with it anymore.

[flamberge]

Kratos nodded, approving of the little girl's logic. "It will undoubtedly benefit you in the long run, especially given the current circumstances." Namely being forced into someone else's war. Yup, he was still a tad bitter about that fact. Not that complaining would help any. Being able to wield a weapon, not matter what said weapon might be, would, however. If she mastered the mace then the likelihood of her dying decreased significantly.

[tokunagas]

"So does that mean you're tempting me to join watch the watch?" He probably wasn't but Anise couldn't help but tease him a bit. "Don't think you that's a little bit cruel to send me into battle with no real training at all?"

[flamberge]

"I suppose it would be unnaturally cruel to pit unsuspecting individuals against such a terrifyingly manipulative little girl as yourself." All that is said with a straight face, but it's supposed to be a joke.

[tokunagas]

For a split moment, Anise immediately thought of Jade. With a smirk, at least she can tell that Kratos had a sense of humor. "Oh c'mon, if you're going to make a joke, you might as well make it more energetic or make it in a teasing kind of tone. Put more effort into it!"

[flamberge]

"I've found jokes most effective when one is incapable of determining whether or not you are in fact joking." Which really was true. The reactions some people gave you when you say something with a straight face were far more hilarious than if you exhibit any emotion. Except in the case of Yuan, whose reactions were humorous no matter how the joke was made.

[tokunagas]

"You know, now you're starting to sound like someone I know." She said back. "He believed in the same exact thing about jokes." It was strange, how at first she thought that Kratos was just a stick in the mud. However, it was good to see that he was starting to relax.

[flamberge]

"Your companion must be quite intelligent." Also a bit of a joke. Although it was rare to hear that someone possessed a similar sense of humor to his own. Most people usually went about jokes the way Anise mentioned.

[tokunagas]

"We are talking about a genius here!" She giggled before looking back at the road. "So...are we almost there yet? We have been walking for what? About 20 minutes now?"

[flamberge]

A genius, huh? Anise certainly knew some interesting people. At her question, he resisted the urge to sigh. Why were children so impatient? "25, actually." He corrected before adding, "However it should not be much longer now. About 5 more minutes and we'll arrive at our destination."

[tokunagas]

She pouted. "Booo...well I waited this long, another 5 minutes can't be that bad." With that said, she needed to find something to talk to Kratos about. Let's see, what could they talk about to fill in that 5 minute gap? "So...found any potential partners yet?"

[flamberge]

"Not as of the moment." Not that he'd really started searching yet. Becoming accustomed to the city and being a Weapon came first, but it'd probably be a good idea to start looking soon.

[tokunagas]

"Seriously? No one at all? I thought that you would have gotten a partner already!" Given how the ratio was, she assumed that most weapons would have gotten a meister already. Anise tried looking for a weapon but it was a lot harder than she thought to find a decent staff.

[flamberge]

"There were other matters to preoccupy my time with which held greater importance than locating a partner." Like finding out why he apparently went insane in the future. Just a tad more important than finding a Meister, in his opinion.

[tokunagas]

"Such as...?" She questioned him. "You can trust Anise! What is it? Hm....?" Obviously, she was just killing time now.
