EVENT: Terror in Death City

Description: The city suffers a citywide panic attack.
It's been...an odd two days, to say the least. People jumping at shadows and looking over their shoulder more often than they normally would. Somehow, even the most innocuous things seem...off. Terrifying in a way you can't quite pinpoint.
But surely, it's just something that will pass right?
Wrong.
Sometime early in the morning (early enough that most people are still asleep), whether you were having a good dream or no dream at all you suddenly find yourself in the grips of a nightmare. It is a nightmare made up off all your worst fears and you find yourself having trouble waking up.
You eventually manage though, but even awake the terror doesn't fade and, despite your best efforts, you see flashes of your nightmare and everything you are afraid of around you in the waking world.
If you weren't asleep, well. For better or for worse, there's no nightmare to wake up from. You just suddenly see your fears around you, either personified in people or in the things around you.
Looks like it will be a terrific day, try not to scream too loud or, you know, accidentally attack your friend thinking they're someone or something else.
