It was generic to the point of terrific frustration; not only were the whales' eyes far apart, but they were disproportionately small. It seemed clear, from L's too-close-for-comfort vantage point, but taking out the eyes wouldn't do much to dull the whale's keen sense for echolocation.

Don't give me instructions unless you honestly believe they'll work...!

The whale chomped at his steel jaws, forcing him to change his trajectory. He dug his teeth into the closest thing he could latch onto, which happened to be the blowhole.

It must have been highly sensitive, judging by the whale's sudden thrashing.
