While some ingested the soul like a meal, others simply absorbed; the former was far too garish for his tastes. When he turned, she posed a peculiar question...
"I, too, felt something of a change. The flecks of static over our resonance have cleaned up considerably post-switch; it has been a far simpler matter to resonate with you as of late. Of course... that does pose the question of our bond, and the link born from it." He stroked his chin.
"That, and you've seen things through my eyes as a Weapon; your understanding of our roles as partners has aided us in better understanding one another. Of course, that is just a theory..." He stepped back to her side and the smile was playful.
"Another theory, nearly a year old, is the subject of kissing as a way to boost resonance." He looked ahead and folded his arms neatly behind his back as he watched the forest around them.
"Perhaps we'll boost it again sometime, Miss Ivory."
