[To say it wasn’t a normal day would be putting it lightly. After what had happened last night, Lily was busy combing the city for Sitri. A task made even more difficult by the creatures and things that kept appearing in strange places around the city. As if the thing precariously blocking the stairs outside—it looked like part of a ship? How in tarnation did that end up in a desert city anyway?!—hadn’t been weird enough, she stepped into the Shibusen lobby to find it was even more of a Chamber of Horrors than usual.]
[In fact, from the few exhibits she recognized—replicas of an iron maiden and an electric chair, Dracula with a swooning victim in his arms, an axe wielding Lizzie Borden, the Texas chainsaw killer, and Elvira—she’d say it was the Chamber of Horrors from the Fisherman’s Wharf wax museum. More torture devices and figures of other famous movie monsters were also scattered about, complete with spooky red lighting.]
[Finding the wax figures creepy, she’d always hurried by whenever she visited Aidan Rhodes’ office at the museum. And she couldn’t help jumping a bit when a sudden blast of music came from the Phantom of the Opera’s organ. As if the city didn't already seem to be decked out for Halloween 365 days a year...]
Just what this place needed, creepy wax poppets. How did this end up here?!
