"I'm trying not to freak out here, Asuka," she said, taking a few more deep breaths as she looked around. "God... I don't think I've had such a close call since my brother and I tried to fight a witch."

She nodded when she heard Asuka's comment, turning to face in that direction to see if she could see the creature. And sure enough, there it was.

Now all she needed to do was get closer to it, and keep it from noticing them. So that's what she was doing, inching towards the creature as she readied herself to stab Asuka at it.
