Description: After finally being permitted out of the hospital’s quarantine Eren has nothing better to do than


a) Run in front of a car

b) Look like a suicidal idiot on a wall

c) Stare at everybody who’s not Caucasian white or has a non-standard hair-color during training time.

d) Do all of the above with predictable consequences.

"Yes." There was no way of saying it differently, really. "I've never seen something like that before. Are you some kind of" he barely kept himself from saying freak because that'd be 1) really rude and 2) the pot calling the kettle black, "-special?"

[WFT IS ALL THAT HAIR AND WHY ARE THERE SO FEW TANGLES IN IT?!

Eren lets out a pretty rude commentary when he is suddenly hit with that uncanny mass but somehow manages to keep going without getting himself hopelessly tangled in that hair and even can pull his hand out of her grasp after a short moment of being caught.

As painful as they were. he is really grateful for all the close combat and defense lesson Annie gave him.

Backing off into a distance just out of her direct reach should she launch again, he gives her a smothering glare.]

What the hell's your problem?!

"It was fighting a real war!" He all but bristled, feeling insulted at the behalf of his killed comrades and friends at the suggestion that it might not have been. (There's also a certain need to not have himself confused with those cowards from the Military Police who kept hiding themselves away from doing any real fighting inside the inner walls.)

Agrias took a moment and considered his words. Her experienced eyes focused on Eren's. Her's was the piercing kind of one that had seen much war. In that regard, they were somewhat similar. Only her situation was never quite as... desperate.

"Are you of the desert, then?" Agrias finally spoke again. "I had met many of the desert peoples state likewise. A proud group of men and women standing defiant over their adversity. Though their allegiances do not put us in accord, at times."

"Fly..." The sheer thought seemed to boggle his mind. "How?!"

[He gives the food a last hesitating glance before he carefully taking one out and bites into it. Chewing, he nods.]

Mmmh! Mwfs fwwwy mpfs!

Ironically, Eren would have looked a lot less flabbergasted if the Psiionic had just told him that much. He was familiar enough with ships to at least recognize that term as designating some sort of sailor -and it was a lot less disturbing than the idea of the guy actually being a ship! Where had they kept all the people and the stuff?! Don't tell him his stomach!

Eren shook his head to stop imaging the troll as some sort of gigantic titan-ship swimming up a river and spewing out peoples and crates at his destination.

"I- Okay? I-I think I get it now. Thanks for explaining.. ?"

"I'd actually like to hear them. [As if to show that their conversation has started threading into dangerous territory Eren's hand has slipped into a pose that looks dangerously as if he's reaching for a weapon (which he doesn't carry).]

The war in my world was fought with the Evangelion units -- more or less enormous humanoid robots. I was crushed in Unit 01's hand, and decapitated by the resulting pressure.

Eren noted that peculiar look in her eyes, feeling both somewhat worried and yet oddly reassured by it. Experienced soldiers were dangerous but also a force that was reliable. Although there was no way for him to really tell if she was soldier or not, he reminded himself a touch belatedly.

"No, I'm not." He couldn't help but smile wistfully. "Any humans who have lived in such places were eaten a long time ago as far as I know."

[Neither 'robots' nor 'evangelion' tell him anything, but 'enormous humanoids' sure does.

Eren relaxes visibly as he grimaces with a slight apologetic note on his face.]

Oh. So that's it? That must have sucked. Sorry for you that that happened. [Despite his words he still has a healthy dose of wariness for the other one.]

[he can't quite puzzle that one out, wanting so badly to hear the details and only relaxing afterwards. but it's hardly the first time humans have perplexed him.]

It was over quickly. And I am here now, correct? There may be a war here as well, but this place is a paradise compared to where I came from. I am happy here.

[he pretty much exudes calm and contentedness, and from a normal person that might be all good stuff. but combined with his odd, almost sickly appearance and his often unsettling manner, it's not that strange at all that people are wary of him.]

"Eaten?" Her words took a turn for the calm and serious. The mode that the former guard captain would take when her mind began to prepare for a battle.

"You're welcome to try doing that." He hadn't survived a war for nothing. Even without powers, he didn't think he'd lose to any old kid.

(Then again, this kid didn't react like a normal teenager in very small, subtle ways. So who even knew?)

Eren asked a lot of questions but didn’t really have a lot to say in response. Fortunately Atem was rather familiar with that sort of game.

“Are you somehow concerned with whether or not my belief in this cause transcends a certain morality?” Maybe that wasn’t the case but he thought the simple answer has been clear. The cost was an uncertainty but also irrelevant. He would surely pay it as his sworn duty. He had supposedly paid the ultimate price but even that had failed to appease the dark powers that ruled their fates and so he himself was left in the dark as to what more could possibly be left for him to give.

If Aqua were the kind to be bothered by this she'd say that being asked if she was 'some kind of special' didn't sound that much better.

Since she wasn't, though, she just chuckled and shook her head. "I don't really think so? I mean," She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, "I haven't really seen anyone else with hair like mine, but I never really thought that it was special and no one really commented on it until I came here."

Yamazaki stared at Eren for a while before he nodded. He didn't have any peculiar reason to do so, but Eren stared at him earlier, now it was Yamazaki's turn.

"I believe you. You do have a warrior's soul. I'm sorry if my words sounded doubtful. You're anything but a chocolate soldier."

He was just trying to be as cool as Kondo-san was in his extremry rare cool seconds.

"Don't know the ins and outs of how it works, but they normally have wings and an engine or a set of propellers. Well, mostly engines, nowadays." And there was probably a lot more to it too. "And someone pilots it from the inside."

"Maybe I am." His response came off a bit too challenging, as if it were an important matter to Eren. It sort of is, but not in the ways most people would fathom it. When it came down to it Eren himself had very little limits with how far he would go and whether or not he would consider the things he might end up doing justified.

"Would you tell people to go and die for your case?" To Eren this was a question of determination rather than morality.

Yeah. [He frowns because as logical as that sounds it also sounds quite touched in the head. Dead people usually don't go around merrily talking about how things are better now.]

Is this really a different world..?

He followed the directions she was giving him with his eyes and made the appropriate noises at the right time. Lots of places to get books atm, it seemed.. He wondered if the information disclosed to the public was any good before the question about what kind of weapon he wants makes him blink.

"I'm not planning on marrying, so a normal weapon will be plenty." He had almost said that he wanted a 3D maneuver gear as if it were the most natural thing of the world.

Nanami nearly choked when he somehow related getting a human Weapon to marrying one. "That not..! No, no... that's not what I meant by "partner". Did you miss the orientation?" She thought she was the only one who didn't pay attention to it because she thought she had be abducted by aliens and was too busy freaking out to hear the important stuff.

"Eh? But a weapon-partner is like a partner for life, right? I don't want something like that." Because people had the bad habit of dying around him and because the ghosts of Franz and Hanna still kept haunting his idea of romantic relationships on the battlefield. He hadn't seen them since the beginning of the battle of Trost, but Eren had asked about the fates of the rest of the 104th trainee squad's members afterward when he had gotten the chance and hearing that half of the couple died had been quite a shock. It had hit him like a fist in the guts just as like the news of Marco's death had, just for different reasons. He had not really been 'that' close with them (Eren was rarely ever 'that' close with anyone except Armin and Mikasa), but he did remember their embarrassed reaction to his complaints about them acting like a married couple only hours before death and the titans had severed their paths for good.

No, no matter what anybody said, he didn't want to be that close to anybody as long as they were still regularly heading out onto a battlefield.
