Description: After finally being permitted out of the hospital’s quarantine Eren has nothing better to do than


a) Run in front of a car

b) Look like a suicidal idiot on a wall

c) Stare at everybody who’s not Caucasian white or has a non-standard hair-color during training time.

d) Do all of the above with predictable consequences.

"I guess you don't have some kind of combined weapons? Swords and knives are just for other humans and I never got warm with the idea of fire arms." He pulled a face. "Those are good for hunting or if you cowardly want to attack another human from behind, but I need something with more variation and power."

"In that case, why bother with a weapon at all? Generally you aren't fighting humans here anyway. Generally..." she repeated making a face remembering people trying to burn down her apartment complex while she was holed up inside with injuries and that time Zagi tried to kill her for no apparent reason. "Or find something blunt but not too thick like a bo staff. I'm not sure what you mean by combined weapon, I'm pretty sure the knifewrench isn't an actual thing."

"Knifewrench? What's that?" He sounded hopeful. Going without any weapon was out of question, of course.

"It... it would be a wrench on one side with a knife on the other-- but that's really beside the point, I don't think it actually exists." Well she never thought he'd actually ask about it. She sighed a little because he was being rather difficult, "look what kind of weapons are you familiar with?"

Eren actually considered such a construct for a moment before he dismissed the idea with a shrug and a serious face. "I don't know if it does or not, but it doesn't sound as if it were very practical at all. Either the knife or the wrench would get in the way all the time."

Then he frowned for a moment because he still didn't know if it was wise to reveal what kind of war technology they used back home. Probably not. "I'm trained in all sorts of weapons, like knives, hand to hand combat, archery, swords, sticks..." you could hear which of those lessons had actually interested him, "... but mostly I'm good at using the 3D maneuver gear."

Nanami has thought about that as well. She nodded at all of the weapons he listed until he got to the last one. "3D...maneuver gear? Never heard of it."

[everylastone]

"It's something that lets you move in all three dimensions quickly and also provides weapons."

[morecowbell]

She shook her head. "Perhaps you can ask Mr. Rhapsodos at morning training. He's one of the weapons teachers, if anyone has heard of it or knows where find it, it would be him."

[everylastone]

"Mr. Rhapsodos at the morning training." He repeated, committing the name to memory. "Alright. Thanks a lot for your help."

"You're quite welcome, Mr. Eren. If you would like to practice resonating with a scimitar sometime, feel free to look me up."

[everylastone]

"Thanks. I'll keep it in mind."

[Eren growls under his breath, ready to march off.]

[for a guy that came across as so serene and gentle, his expression turns dark pretty fast at that.]

That is a dangerous thing to be saying. I can forgive you for the moment because I do not think you fully understand what you are suggesting, but I can promise that I would put you down myself if you became a threat to humanity.

[If Eren notices that sudden change of mood then it doesn't seem to even surprise him.]

You're welcome to try it. For someone claiming to care about the fate of humanity you guys sure do it a good lot well by stealing the people who are needed to fight for it elsewhere and then insisting keeping them here even if they won't help you out!

It was an accident, and I am no more involved with it than you are. If you must resent Shibusen for their mistakes, then fine. But do not put all the innocent people in this world at risk because of it. The Witches want only destruction and chaos, reaching far beyond the simple defeat of this city. They would destroy everything, and you are suggesting helping them out of a petty grudge against an extremely small part of this world's population.

[everylastone]

[The temptation to punch Kaworu for what matters more than anything else to him a 'petty grudge' is high, but somehow Eren manages to resist it, albeit barely.]

If this extremely small part is carelessly causing the extinction of the human race and not giving a damn about it then they can go to hell in a hand-basket for all I care, and everybody who sides with them as well!

People have died to give us this chance that's being so casually ruined here!

[pregames]

"It is not a matter of whether I would or not. People have died for my sake. And I would allow it again if the benefits were clear. Such is conviction." If it looked like he had smirked it was only because of the intense irony in those words and that was the easiest way to face it.

But he quickly sighs and pushes away from the comfort of the railing, crossing his arms. They had strayed too long in territory in which the pharaoh was still growing comfortable but he tried to shrug it off surreptitiously. "What a topic for introductions though. How about we try something more innocuous next time?"

[everylastone]

Eren regarded him a moment longer with eyes that spoke of somebody far too old and experienced for somebody his age. Of somebody who could talk about such things and understand no matter how simple and straightforward he seemed to otherwise be.

Then he shrugged his shoulders and the moment dispelled. "I guess so. Sorry, but I'm not really good with small talk. It's not that I don't get or like it, just..." He trailed off just to shrug his shoulders again with an awkward look of 'no clue how to put this into words'. "It seems all too often like a waste of time when we're living in a world where anybody can die any moment."

[good thing you didn't, last time someone tried he almost broke their arm.]

Have you been listening at all? They have not caused this. They are the one force with any chance of saving humanity here.

[everylastone]

[Eren bristles for a moment longer, eyes turning wide and fists clenched tight, before he abruptly turns away with a look of disgust.

Starting fights was against the rules and he would not soil his squad's reputation by ignoring them just because he was here.]

You know what? I'm done with this. There's no point arguing with a fanatic. You're just as bad as those wall-loving freaks.

"You would fit in well with my advisors. It seemed all anyone ever had were dire matters of the utmost importance for me to deal with. Needless to say I relished the breaks where I could get it." It may come off as flippant but it’s not the same thing as implying that he made light of his responsibilities. Thought it hardly mattered to him if Eren, and all his understanding, picked up on it. His resolve never wavered.

His lips quirked up at the idea that he'd make a good adviser for anything. That was Armin's specialty, Eren got passionate far too quickly. (Albeit he also didn't think that he'd do even half as catastrophically at it as Jean liked to proclaim. Putting your heart into something didn't mean that you had to switch your brain off.)

Ironically enough Eren sort of got it. Sort of. "So you're some kind of commanding officer where you come from?"

[ok so maybe he is kind of a huge humanity fanboy but wow eren there's no need to be rude about it.]

[Luckily or unluckily Eren doesn't feel like stopping to explain the insult to him as he stalks off. Kaworu will have to ask again at a later time if he really wants to know about it.

Which might be for the best, knowing Eren's temper once it gets going.]
