Bakura had witnessed her attempt to protect him and subsequent fall with eyes that were wide with surprise, but the shock didn't last long. He growled under his breath as he used the brief respite to try and drag his leg out of the broken roof only to be rewarded with a sharp pain.

"Kuh!" Exhaling sharply, he retrieved his second knife from its place (the first had gotten lost sometime during the first moments of the fight) and set to hammering its handle against the wood in order to break it. If he couldn't get out he would just go properly inside and take the other route..!

He was almost through when he felt something latch on him from below. "Nanami! Fight!" There wasn't more time for him to shout instructions at her as the monster below tried stronger and the thief was pulled through the roof with great noise, blade ablaze and ready as he went down with a challenging yell.
