Characters: Hyuuga Neji (
heavenly_earth) and Rock Lee (
awokentospring)
Location: El Salvador (Mission I - 004)
Rating: PG?
Time: May 3rd through Mary 4th, overnight
Description: The faint sound of music can be heard through the dark, evening air. Lee and Neji have been sent to investigate.
The balmy, late-summer air of El Salvador drifted over Lee like a tangible blanket. The heat might have been too much had the sea breeze not helped to cool them. But something else hung in the air; a tension that had little to do with the heat or the coming of the night.
Lee gazed over the sun setting across the water from their vantage point, raking a hand through his hair. After finding that Sakura seemed to have been sent home, he had been relatively down all day. The mission, however, had given him a reason to focus away from himself, and he took to it with a drive he hasn't felt since Gai was sent home. Just a few minutes more, then the sun would set and the mysterious music would begin, supposedly drawing others with little self-control out into the surf.
