He scoffed. "Excuse me, but I happen to be good with talking about other things. --like my daughter!" That would have normally been Kotetsu's cue to nosedive into endless fawning and cooing over his daughter, but he stopped himself at the last second as he directed a pleased smile over in Kerrigan's direction which quickly fell away, remember that he most definitely hadn't looked for her in order to tell her about Kaede.

"But, that's not what I came here for either." Stiffening up slightly at the mention of 'demotion', Kotetsu grimaced and slid down slightly against the doorway, enough that he wasn't quite sitting up straight against it, his voice somewhat small and very guilty-sounding. "Th-thanks for the heads-up. Reassuring, honest. ...but, I don't feel right just leaving it like that. It's not the kind of person I am. If I mess up, and I know I messed up, then... I'd rather own up to it than just simply leave it alone." He sighed heavily, reaching up to rub at the side of his neck.

"And I messed up. Again. I just... I dunno what I can say at this point, other than apologize again, but I still feel like I should still say something else."
