"They're called Aeons and the reason is that Sin is gigantic. It can swim, it can fly and if it were here, it could easily destroy this city with no effort." He'd seen that destruction first hand, even if the Zanarkand he'd been living in was just a dream.

"A Summoner needs the fayth to get the Aeons. Once a summoner visits the temples and is seen worthy to wield all five major Aeons, then the party travels to Zanarkand and gain the Final Aeon. However, that only gives a summoner a chance to win. And if they're successful and they cast it on Sin, they die. So it's a question of if the Summoner is willing to give up themselves for a chance to finally defeat Sin forever or is it better to live as they were? In the thousand years of Sin, only a handful of parties managed to defeat Sin for a little while. More than ten years ago, I decided to go on my first pilgrimage. But that's another story."
