He reacted automatically as he was suddenly grabbing at Fuuka to push her out of the way. For someone who worked behind a desk, his reflexes were surprisingly good and agile as he moved to avoid the strike that aimed for her location.

He stumbled back as a giant beetle swiped with its sharp mandible. Yet when it realised it had missed its mark, the beetle's drooling mouth opened wide to emit a high-pitched screech as it pinned its compound eyes on the pair. The insect was easily twice their size, and without a doubt, looking to make a meal out of the pair.
