Sephiroth and Cloud had made their way through the winding tunnels within the cave the emitter was. It had been next to impossible for Cloud to wield his form in the tunnels, so he had opted for remaining only in partial form while they travelled through the long stretches towards their target. That hadn't been without a price though, and while he said nothing to Cloud, the ex-General had used his partial form to cut his own hand. The pain that followed the injury helped to keep his mind anchored, but Sephiroth knew that it would only buy them so much time. They had to get to their destination quickly.
His partner was travelling behind him, something he never once stopped remaining aware of, as he gracefully took out any and all opponents in his path. The few that had attempted to get at them from behind were swiftly dealt with by his partner, and with little to slow either of them down, they were quick to make it towards the large enclosure where the emitter would be found.
It was easy enough for him to find, given his sensitivity to the Madness Wavelength, and as he stepped into the large chamber, Sephiroth found himself gritting his teeth to ward off the voices that began to boom throughout his skull. He'd been doing better against the Madness Wavelength lately, but it wasn't without sacrifice on his end. Sephiroth knew that it wouldn't be long before his mind would be consumed by the madness, no amount of injury could keep it at bay forever. That was why he stopped dead in his tracks when the sight of the kishin egg horde came into view.
"...Cloud..." Sephiroth managed to say, although his tone was strained from effort. His hand was leaking blood from the wound he'd given himself, but the anchoring pain it caused was rapidly losing its ability to keep him grounded.
