Honestly, the yell could have been a lot worse - it was more frustration out of being so close and finding it so difficult to listen to what she was telling him as well. He wasn't stupid enough to realise that his yelling had bothered her, and he wriggled his fingers to grip better, shifting his stance and giving it another try.
