Hughes' defenses are completely up, so it would be hard to crack past at the moment.
He throws off the first kick and blocks the second, taking the hit so he can gauge Roy's strength...and grab onto Roy's leg by grappling it.

Hmm... Now, if I was shorter then that might have worked, but...hehehe.
