Shit, shit, shit... her remark had left him bright red, and for just a moment he tried to come up with things to say, but failed rather miserably. He looked up at the clock and felt ridiculous. Was it really only that early!?
After floundering for another while longer, he sighed out of his nose. Even without the clock's help, nothing about the view just outside the window told anyone that it was late by any means.
"Sorry," he finally grumbled. Then he looked up.
"...Places like this still make my damn skin crawl. 'Til you got here, 's just been nurses n' doctors pokin' at me. Y'know, when they don't call security to throw my ass back in here for tryin' to leave earlier."
