Takuto arrives just after 6:00 with Sasha in tow. There's been a few changes to some things, but hopefully it's nothing the Starfish Apocalypse can't overcome. Everyone just needs to get to know each other and then get to work!

[He'd given Sugata the script a few days earlier, so hopefully his friend knows most of the lines and at least understands the gist of the play.

It only occurred to Takuto moments ago that casting Sugata as Princess Pufferfish means...

...he's going to have to kiss his best friend.]

So, um, you want to practice a few scenes?

[Awkward? Awkward.]

[pls, he's got this. this isn't his first rodeo after all. he's an actor. of course he's always wanted to play roles that pushed boundaries, but he never thought he'd get them so soon. not after his last role, anyway. any awkwardness takuto has doesn't seem to affect sugata. he's as calm and cool as it can get.

so once his friend approaches him, he stands and nods his head.] Of course. What scene did you have in mind?

[tauborn]

I was thinking we'd just start at the beginning and run through the scenes that we have together. You'll need to learn where you're supposed to be on stage and stuff.

[Blocking. That's called blocking, technically, and Takuto knows this but he's forgetting things when he's remembering that at the end of all the "as you wish's" they're going to have to kiss. That's the very first scene....

He swallows and opens his script to the beginning and sets it down just to the left of center stage.]

Blocking, you mean? [he chuckles a little to himself as he walks towards takuto.] But sure, I'm fine with that.

[tauborn]

R-right. [Wow he is already feeling like an idiot. But okay. If Sugata can get down to business, so can Takuto.]

So, at 'nothing gave Pufferfish as much pleasure as ordering Westlake around' that's when you enter stage right and say your first line.

[If Sugata looks at his script, he'll see that "horse" has been changed to "seahorse" and that "buckets" has been crossed out several times and the whole line has been replaced with "Feed my seahorse... please." There are various props on the side of the stage--a pitcher for water and a small heap of branches that were obviously gathered from the park.]

[the script was actually pretty easy to memorize. he wasn't going to bring it with him, but decided against it mostly because of the fish puns. they were a bit awkward to read, but, whatever he wasn't directing this. so he would leave it at that. and besides, it'd probably be rude to change it last minute anyway.

after a quick refresh of his lines he bows his head and steels his nerves. he clears his throat and when he speaks his voice is a higher pitch than what it usually is. and wayyy much softer.]

Farm Boy, polish my seahorse's saddle. I want to see my face shining in it by morning. [and with that he crosses his arms.]

[Wow, okay, Sugata can be a rather convincing girl. Who'd have known? But at least Takuto has the familiarity of his role to go on. So he smiles kindly and nods.]

As you wish.

[of course he can. he takes all his rolls seriously. he's... not exactly sure if he needs to actually go grab the pile of branches, or if takuto's supposed to do that. since the original line was crossed out. so he'll just... stay where he is for now.]

Farm Boy, feed my seahorse... please.

[tauborn]

As you wish.

[Seahorses eat algae or something. That pile of branches is the firewood Takuto goes to pick up. Setting it down center stage is the cue for Sugata's next line--Feferi probably wrote that down in the script. It's pretty nice that Sugata doesn't seem to need much coaching, though. The play might just succeed after all.

Actually, Sugata probably has more experience than the rest of the club combined.]

[upon hearing takuto's second as you wish line he walks away from the red head and waits for him to finish setting down the branches of firewood.]

Farm boy! [when he sees the other getting ready to make his leave, he calls out in a softer voice.] Fetch me that pitcher.

[tauborn]

[He turns dramatically at the call of "farm boy" and then slowly and carefully brings the pitcher. His face starts to redden as he passes the item to Sugata....

This was so less embarrassing with Feferi. But he still manages his stage whisper and a convincing expression.]

A-as you wish.

[Oh crap oh crap oh crap the next part is where they're supposed to kiss.]

[sugata smiles as he takes the pitcher from takuto. he sets the water pitcher to the side and leans in closer to his friend. his smile widens a little as he looks down at takuto. they would have to elevate his height a little if they wanted to have a convincing role. also the reddening in his cheeks is kind of adorable. not wanting to make the first move he purses his lips out anticipating the kiss.]

[His heart is thudding so hard in his chest he's afraid Sugata's going to hear it. Which is ridiculous but why is this so much harder than kissing Feferi? Maybe it had something to do with the troll's attitude whereas Sugata.... Sugata just looked very serious about it, playing the role of a girl realizing she's in love very well.

He places one hand on Sugata's cheek--that's in the script after all--then swallows and leans forward, scrunching his eyes shut at the very last moment.]

[sugata closes the distance and presses his lips against takuto's. his eyes close as he places a hand on takuto's chest. he fists the material lightly.]

[This is precisely where things started to go wrong with Kaworu, and if Takuto had any sense or any self-control, he wouldn't have agreed to this.

As things stand, he's just going to hold perfectly still and try not to think as his face turns scarlet and his heart races. This... this isn't supposed to be happening like this. He's supposed to be acting, not getting flustered like it's his first kiss.]

[he lingers a few seconds longer than he probably should before finally pulling away. that and he never realized how soft his best friends lips were. yep, he's soaking this in as much as he can. but hey, at least it was convincing??? he hopes it was anyways.

he can't help the small chuckle that escapes his mouth as soon as he pulls back enough to see takuto's face. it could probably rival his hair at the moment. he clears his throat a little as he lowers his voice so no one else can hear.]

Hey, are you alright? It wasn't that bad was it?

[tauborn]

[The chuckle and the smile on his best friend's face certainly don't help. He hisses back, feeling more than just a little embarrassed.]

I-it was a-alright! [Seriously Sugata could you make this any worse for him? He huffs and folds his arms across his chest, trying to remain aloof like a proper actor and utterly failing.]

S-so, I suppose we should move on to the next scene. U-unless you, er... wanted to practice that again....

[Some part of him knows he shouldn't have suggested that, but the words just kind of tumbled out.... Someone please stop him from his poor decisions.]

[sugata rolls the script in his hand and crosses his arm.] I think we should try it once more. I didn't really find that kiss convincing. These two are in love, and you just kind of... stood there. [he pauses for a moment.]

If you really want to make it more believable you're going to have to find a way to make it as such. Take things into your own hands, you know? [he frowns a little as he tucks the script under his arm.] I wish there were a better way to show you, but there isn't, so I'm sorry.

[and with that he places his hand on takuto's shoulder and leans in closer. he stares down into takuto's eyes for a brief second making contact with him as he tilts his head to the side. and without any further hesitation he leans in a little more and places a chaste kiss on takuto's lips.]

[Sugata doesn't know that he just stood there in order to make sure he didn't do something utterly stupid... but now that's all thrown out the window, isn't it. Takuto's breath catches in his throat as Sugata leans in and looks at him with those golden eyes, and even though he tries to remain strong he can't help but melt just a little, his lips softening around Sugata's.]

[he presses his lips firmly against takuto's as he runs the hand he had resting on takuto's shoulder up his neck. his hand slowly ghosts it's way over the other's jaw as he places his hand on takuto's cheek. he gently caresses the soft skin with his thumb as he tucks away a few stray hairs behind takuto's ear. after a couple of seconds of just having his lips pressed against takuto's he gently parts his lips and moves them slowly against the other. it's almost as if he's trying to say something but nothing comes out.

and as quickly as it was started he pulls away once more.]

I always think it's best that you make eye contact with the person you're about to kiss before you kiss them. It spices things up by bringing things to a whole new level. As far as kissing goes though, you never want to actually stick your tongue in the other person's mouth. I find that to be rather intimate. Of course if your partner doesn't mind it then that's your call. But most tend to part their lips slightly. If the audience can see our lips moving then they'll make up the rest.

[Sugata pulling away so suddenly is like a rug being pulled out from under him. Where on earth had Sugata learned to do that? And why is he doing it to Takuto so well and giving him the impression it's all one big play-acting tease?

This isn't at all fair. He tries to pretend he's not really trying to catch his breath a little and instead makes a show of listening to Sugata's comments.]

Um. So. Eye contact, then open mouth kiss with no tongue. [Easy enough, right? Though how had Sugata turned into the director? Granted, he knows what he's doing more than Takuto does....

And Takuto takes a deep breath, staring into Sugata's eyes as he places his hand on the back of Sugata's neck and pulls him closer for a kiss. He's got to make this one believable or else he'll be stuck kissing Sugata all afternoon....]

[he's had more experience with acting. and he watches a lot of movies. and kind of picks them apart, but shhhssh also srry, he won't take over again. he just.... well-- he needed to give takuto tips on giving better kisses on stage.]

That would be it, yes.

[and with that he let's takuto take the initiative. he never really realized what a beautiful shade takuto's eyes were. and with that he finds himself inching closer and closer to the other without any assistance. he shivers slightly when he feels takuto place his hand on his neck.]

[Mouth slightly open, he lets his lips massage Sugata's and it's far too good. It's the kind of kiss that is likely to get him into trouble, and he can't help but wonder if Sugata's acting is good enough to come up with a shiver like that.

He lingers, probably too long, before pulling back slowly. He's not going to be the hero that pulls the rug out from under the heroine, after all. His eyes blink open gently as he looks back at Sugata, still only a few inches away.]

L-like that, then.

[Cue the return of his blush in three... two...]

[sugata returns the kiss with as much fervor. he parts his lips slightly and moves it gently against the other. he briefly wonders why everything went dark before realizing that his eyes shut. it also takes a good part of him not to lean back in for another kiss. he knows deep down inside that this isn't right, but... his friend needed the help? it was a petty excuse, but an a excuse nonetheless.

his voice catches a little in his throat.] A-ah, hmn. Yes, that was good. Much better than your first. We can move on now.

[tauborn]

[He tries to quench the tiny feeling of smug triumph at the way Sugata's voice stumbles after the kiss. That's totally not at all how he should be feeling about this rehearsal.

They really really needed to move on. He clears his throat and quickly moves to retrieve his script, keeping his eyes on the paper.]

So, the, um, the next part is ... your line "I fear I will never see you again."
