Characters: Sugata Shindou & Takuto Tsunashi.
Location: around Shibusen?
Rating: G
Time: May 15, early morning
Description: Sugata finds out what he is with a little help from Takuto.
[sugata might have had some issues getting a decent amount of sleep last night, but, he's gonna blame all of that on the fact that he's not really used to sleeping on couches! he briefly entertained the idea of getting his own apartment, but dismissed it when he thought about his friend. besides, it wouldn't be right to leave him alone when he needed help. pushing those thoughts to the side he glances over at takuto and offers the boy a small smile. it'd be better if he didn't focus on all of that anyway. there are other important things that need his focus at the moment.
as soon as they reach their destination, he places a hand on his hips and looks over at takuto once more.]
So.... what next?

So.... what next?

So just stand there and we'll figure it out. [He steps behind one of the machines and powers it up. It hums to life and lights start glowing.] Don't worry, it doesn't hurt or anything.

no subject
Okay, just hold still for a bit.... [And Takuto presses the large red button on the machine--Shibusen built it easy enough for a toddler to use, after all--and waits for the image of Sugata's soul to appear on the screen in front of him.
I-it's so cute.]

Is something wrong?
no subject
You're a weapon! This is great!
no subject
Is that a good thing? [he's taking this as a good thin-- oh wait-] You said you were a meister, right?
no subject
[He has a feeling he'll be able to achieve really good resonance with Sugata, since they are friends and all. He steps away from the machine after powering it down, and grabs Sugata's hand to start dragging him out of the room.]
You don't have to be able to transform to practice resonance, but I really really want to know what your weapon form is!
no subject
Oh, that's good to know. [a pause. he somehow can't shake the bad feeling he has bubbling up in the pit of his stomach.] And how do you find that out?
no subject
[He's taking Sugata out of the building, towards Shibusen's stairs. This is the kind of chance he'll only get once in a lifetime, after all.]
no subject
You do? And what would that be?
no subject
There's only one way that always works to get a weapon to transform. You just have to get in tune with your instincts, since they say turning into a weapon is kind of like a natural defense mechanism.
[He's slooooowly sidling up behind Sugata, even as he's gesturing for his friend to take in the view.] Just look out there at the city for a moment. That's what we're trying to protect.
no subject
Hmm, it's different.
no subject
As a weapon, you're really the only thing that can fight against witches and kishin eggs.
But to transform, you might need.... a little push.
[And Takuto is of course there to give Sugata that much needed push. The one to send him tumbling down the Shibusen stairs. In his weapon form, he'll be alright and wind up with only a bruise or two.]
no subject
[his eyes widen in momentary fear as he's pushed off the side of the stairs. his arms flail about him in a helpless manner as he tries to find something he can grab on to but, unfortunately, there isn't anything he can use to stop him from falling. it... he can almost kind of see his life flash before his eyes.
he then remembers that the only reason why takuto did this was so he could access his weapon form. but.... how?]
no subject
Watching Sugata's arms windmill a little is a pretty hilarious bonus, too.
He watches in anticipation as Sugata tips past the point of no return. He really doesn't want to wait a week or two or maybe three for Sugata to meditate and slowly figure out how to transform.]
no subject
deciding that that was the main reason, he took a deep breath in and tried his hardest to relax his body as best as he could. as he shuts his eyes he feels as if a weight was lifted off of his shoulders. that's it, that's the feeling. it has to be!
he transforms into a tantou just before he reaches the ground.
oh your'e gonna get it takuto. had he taken any longer he would have been in some major trouble.]
no subject
He breathes a sigh of relief as Sugata shrinks in a flash of light and then starts clattering down the stairs. The sigh turns into laughter, though, as he trots down the steps to retrieve his friend.]
Oh, I see! You're Wako's knife!
[There's no way he doesn't recognize that weapon. It's somehow fitting, though, that Sugata takes the form of something that he always carried to protect the people he cared about. He grins teasingly and leans over Sugata as the tantou skids to a halt on a step midway down the stairs.]
If you want to try transforming back into human, we can practice again. You're only halfway to the bottom, after all~
no subject
while he remembers the feelings that triggered his transformation, he'd rather go about this the safe way. besides, he'd want to know how to get into his new form on the fly without needing to be in danger first. and with that he transforms back.]
Or I could push you down the stairs and see what kind of meister abilities you can do.
no subject
N-no! I already know my ability, and stairs don't work for meisters!
[It's probably sad to say that if stairs did work for meisters, he'd have probably thrown himself down a short flight of them.]
no subject
We can test it out if you're not sure.
no subject
[He's just not very good at using it is all. He starts edging down the stairs. If Sugata is planning on revenge, he'd like to be much closer to the bottom.]
So, do you want to try resonating then?
no subject
Alright. I don't see why we can't. [he looks up and then over at his friend warily.] Unless it involves throwing me off these stairs again, and if that's the case, I know where you sleep at night.
no subject
No, it pretty much involves standing or sitting. [And looking into each other's souls, but... they'll get there when they get there.]

no subject
It's difficult to explain, but basically the point of resonance is to try to get our soul wavelengths to match. [He's confident he can resonate with Sugata, so he isn't going to bother telling him about how a poor resonance can result in what feels like an electric shock. And given that Sugata knows him pretty well, he's also going to refrain from giving his friend the disclaimer he gives to every other weapon.
Takuto's wavelength usually hits unsuspecting weapons like an exploding star.]
It's easier to experience than to explain, and it's actually much easier to explain while practicing. All you need is physical contact. Ready?
